श्रीसरस्वत्युवाच | अस्मिन् रणवरे राजन्मर्तव्यं भवताधुना | प्राप्तव्यं प्राक्तनं राज्यं सर्वं प्रत्यक्षमेव ते || १ ||

śrīsarasvatyuvāca | asmin raṇavare rājanmartavyaṃ bhavatādhunā | prāptavyaṃ prāktanaṃ rājyaṃ sarvaṃ pratyakṣameva te || 1 ||

English

Sarasvati said: In this great battle, O king, you must die now. The former kingdom must be obtained, all is evident to you.

हिन्दी

श्रीसरस्वती ने कहा: हे राजा, इस महायुद्ध में आपको अभी मरना होगा। पुराना राज्य प्राप्त होना चाहिए, सब कुछ आपके लिए स्पष्ट है।

कुमार्या मन्त्रिणा चैव त्वया च प्राक्तनं पुरम् | आगन्तव्यं शवीभूतं प्राप्तव्यं तच्छरीरकम् || २ ||

kumāryā mantrīṇā caiva tvayā ca prāktanaṃ puram | āgantavyaṃ śavībhūtaṃ prāptavyaṃ taccharīrakam || 2 ||

English

By the princess, the minister, and you, the former city must be entered as a corpse. The body must be obtained.

कुमारी, मंत्री और आपके द्वारा, पुराना शहर शव के रूप में प्रवेश किया जाना चाहिए। शरीर प्राप्त होना चाहिए।

आवां यावो यथायातं वातरूपेण च त्वया | आगन्तव्यः स देशस्तु कुमार्या मन्त्रिणापि च || ३ ||

āvāṃ yāvo yathāyātaṃ vātarūpeṇa ca tvayā | āgantavyaḥ sa deśastu kumāryā mantrīṇāpi ca || 3 ||

English

We two, as we are, in the form of wind, must go to that place by you, the princess, and the minister.

English

The movement of the horse is different, the movement of the donkey and the camel is different, and the movement of the intoxicated elephant is different.

English

While the sweet-speaking couple was engaged in conversation, a man entered in a hurry and spoke from above.

देव सायकचक्रासिगदापीरघवृष्टिमत् | महत्परबलं प्राप्तमेकार्णव इवोद्धतः || ६ ||

deva sāyakacakrāsiga dāpīraghavṛṣṭimat | mahatparabalaṃ prāptamekārṇava ivoddhataḥ || 6 ||

English

The divine warrior, equipped with arrows, discus, sword, and mace, rains down a torrent of weapons, possessing great strength like an ocean in turmoil.

English

Like a mountain peak shaken by the wind at the end of the world, he releases a shower of maces, spears, and arrows, satisfying his enemies.

नगरे नगसंकाशे लग्नोऽग्निर्व्याप्तदिक्तटः | दहंश्चटचटास्फोटैः पातयत्युत्तमां पुरीम् || ८ ||

nagare nagasaṃkāśe lagnogniḥ vyāptadiktataḥ | dahaṃścaṭacaṭāsphoṭaiḥ pātayatyuttamāṃ purīm || 8 ||

English

In the city, resembling a mountain, fire spreads in all directions, burning with crackling sounds, destroying the excellent city.

English

Like clouds at the end of the world, huge smoke clouds in the sky are ready to cause destruction, like Garuda.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच | ससंभ्रमं वदत्येवं पुरुषे परुषारवः | उदभूत्पूरयन्नाशा बहिः कोलाहलो महान् || १० ||

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | sasaṃbharamaṃ vadatyevaṃ puruṣe paruṣāravaḥ | udabhūtpūrayannāśā bahiḥ kolāhalo mahān || 10 ||

English

Vasishtha said: Thus, with great agitation, the man speaks harsh words, causing destruction and great uproar outside.

English

The sound of the twanging of the bows of the warriors, the sound of the arrows being shot, the loud trumpeting of the huge and intoxicated elephants, and the sound of the swift horses.

पुरे चटचटास्फोटैर्दहतां जातवेदसाम् | पौराणां दग्धदाराणां महाहलहलारवैः || १२ ||

pure caṭacaṭāsphotairdahatāṃ jātavedasām | paurāṇāṃ dagdhadārāṇāṃ mahāhalahalāravaiḥ || 12 ||

English

In the city, the crackling sounds of the burning fires, the cries of the citizens whose homes are being burned, and the great tumultuous noise.

English

Filled with the tumultuous ocean of the destructive fire of dissolution, filled with the fierce enemy army like a stormy cloud wave.

English

The world is being consumed by the flames of the fire at the end of the aeon, which are as radiant as the Meru mountain. The sky is filled with these great blazing flames.

कल्पान्त के अग्नि की लपटों से मेरु पर्वत की तरह चमकते हुए पृथ्वी को जलाया जा रहा है। आकाश इन महान ज्वालाओं से भरा हुआ है।

English

The thunderous roars of the great clouds, which can be grasped in a fist, are terrifying. The harsh sounds of the demons' chatter are dreadful.

पुष्करावर्तसंकाशधूम्रूभ्रपिहिताम्बरम् | प्रोड्डीनहेमाग्रनिभैर्ज्वालापुञ्जैर्निरन्तरम् || १८ ||

English

The sky is covered with smoke that resembles the whirlpool of a lotus. It is continuously filled with clusters of flames that look like the tips of golden rods.

English

The sky is trembling with the fierce stars and meteors. The mountains are blazing with fires that spread from one place to another.

English

The fall of the defeated army and cities is accompanied by the swift movement of clouds and embers. The harsh cries and the burning of the world create a dreadful roar.

From the remaining ashes, the glory of the king increased, the fire was satisfied, and the great fire of effort to consume everything began.

Alas, father, the causes are attached to the tender grass, burning like dry leaves driven by the wind of the hero.

The rivers of weapons burn in the sky at the end of the day, like the blazing submarine fire filling the ocean.

धूमायन्ति महाभ्राणि ज्वालाः शिखरिकोटिषु | सरसान्यपि शुष्यन्ति हृदयानीव रागिणाम् || ३८ ||

dhūmāyanti mahābhrāṇi jvālāḥ śikharikoṭiṣu | sarasānyapi śuṣyanti hṛdayānīva rāgiṇām || 38 ||

English

Great clouds of smoke rise, and flames reach the mountain peaks. Even the lakes dry up, like the hearts of the passionate.
