श्रीराम उवाच | वज्राङ्गसाराद्ब्रह्माण्डकुड्यान्निबिडमण्डलात् | कोटियोजनसंपुष्टात्कथं ते निर्गतेऽबले || १ ||

śrīrāma uvāca | vajrāṅgasārādbrahmāṇḍakuḍyānniḍamaṇḍalāt | koṭiyojanasaṃpuṣṭātkathaṃ te nirgate'bale || 1 ||

English

Shri Rama said: How did you, O Abala, emerge from the impenetrable sphere of the Brahmanda, which is as hard as a diamond and extends for millions of yojanas?

श्री राम ने कहा: हे अबले, तुम वज्र के समान कठोर और करोड़ों योजन तक फैले हुए ब्रह्माण्ड के अभेद्य मण्डल से कैसे निकलीं?

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच | क्व ब्रह्माण्डं क्व तद्भित्तिः क्वात्रासौ वज्रसारता | किलावश्यं स्थिते देव्यावन्तःपुरवराम्बरे || २ ||

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | kva brahmāṇḍaṃ kva tadbhittiḥ kvātrāsau vajrasāratā | kilāvaśyaṃ sthite devyāvantḥpuravarāmbare || 2 ||

English

Shri Vasishtha said: Where is the Brahmanda, where is its wall, and where is its diamond-like essence? Indeed, the goddess resides in the best garment of the inner chamber.

श्री वसिष्ठ ने कहा: ब्रह्माण्ड कहाँ है, उसकी दीवार कहाँ है, और उसका वज्र के समान सार कहाँ है? निश्चय ही, देवी अन्तःपुर के श्रेष्ठ वस्त्र में निवास करती हैं।

तस्मिन्नेव गिरिग्रामे तस्मिन्नेवालयाम्बरे | ब्राह्मणः स वसिष्ठाख्य आस्वादयति राजताम् || ३ ||

tasminneva girigrāme tasminnevālayāmbare | brāhmaṇaḥ sa vasiṣṭhākhya āsvādayati rājatām || 3 ||

English

In that very mountain village, in that very temple garment, the Brahmin named Vasishtha enjoys royalty.

उसी पर्वतीय गाँव में, उसी मन्दिर के वस्त्र में, वसिष्ठ नामक ब्राह्मण राजसी भोग करता है।

तमेव मण्डपाकाशकोणकं शून्यमात्रकम् | चतुःसमुद्रपर्यन्तं भूतलं सोऽनुभूतवान् || ४ ||

tameva maṇḍapākāśakoṇakaṃ śūnyamātrakam | caturḥsamudraparyantaṃ bhūtalaṃ so'nubhūtavān || 4 ||

English

He experienced that very corner of the sky pavilion as mere emptiness, extending to the boundaries of the four oceans.

ākāśātmani bhūpīṭhaṃ tasmins tadrājapattanaṃ | rājasadmānubhavati sa ca sā cāpyarundhatī || 5 ||

English

In the sky-like self, the earth is the throne, in that, the royal city. He experiences the royal abode, and she also obstructs.

आकाश के समान आत्मा में, पृथ्वी सिंहासन है, उसमें राजधानी है। वह राजभवन का अनुभव करता है, और वह भी रोकती है।

लीलाभिधाना सा जाता तया च ज्ञप्तिरर्चिताज्ञप्त्या सह समुल्लङ्घ्य खमाश्चर्यमनोहरम् || ६ ||

līlābhidhānā sā jātā tayā ca jñaptirarcitājñaptyā saha samullaṅghya khamāścaryamanoharam || 6 ||

English

She, who is known as the embodiment of divine play, was born. By her, the knowledge was made known and worshipped. Along with that knowledge, she transcended the sky, which is wonderfully enchanting.

जो दिव्य लीला की प्रतीक है, वह उत्पन्न हुई। उसके द्वारा ज्ञान ज्ञात और पूजित हुआ। उस ज्ञान के साथ, वह आकाश को पार कर गई, जो अद्भुत और मनमोहक है।

English

In a small space in the sky, she entered the womb of the house and reached the inner universe. She then appeared in the temple of the village on the hill.

आकाश में एक छोटे स्थान पर, वह घर की कोख में प्रवेश करके अंतरिक्ष तक पहुंची। फिर वह पहाड़ी गांव के मंदिर में प्रकट हुई।

ब्रह्माण्डात्परिनिर्गत्य स्वगृहे स्थितिमाययौस्वप्नात्स्वप्नान्तरं प्राप्य यथा तल्पगतः पुमान् || ८ ||

brahmāṇḍātparinirgatya svagṛhe sthitimāyayausvapnātsvapnāntaraṃ prāpya yathā talpagataḥ pumān || 8 ||

English

Emerging from the universe, she returned to her own abode. Just as a man in a dream enters another dream, she attained a state similar to that.

ब्रह्माण्ड से निकलकर, वह अपने घर लौटी। जैसे एक व्यक्ति स्वप्न में दूसरे स्वप्न में प्रवेश करता है, वैसे ही वह एक अवस्था प्राप्त करती है।

प्रतिभामात्रमेवैतत्सर्वमाकाशमात्रकम्न ब्रह्माण्डं न संसारो न कुड्यादि न दूरता || ९ ||

pratibhāmātramevaitatsarvamākāśamātrakamna brahmāṇḍaṃ na saṃsāro na kuḍyādi na dūratā || 9 ||

English

All this is merely a reflection, entirely space-like. It is neither the universe nor the world, neither a wall nor distance.

यह सब केवल एक प्रतिबिंब है, पूरी तरह से आकाश-जैसा। यह न तो ब्रह्माण्ड है, न ही संसार, न ही दीवार, न ही दूरी।

स्वचित्तमेव कचति तयोस्तादृङ्मनोहरम्वासनामात्रसोल्लेखं क्व ब्रह्माण्डं क्व संसृतिः || १० ||

svacittameva kacati tayostādṛṅmanoharamvāsanāmātrasollekhaṃ kva brahmāṇḍaṃ kva saṃsṛtiḥ || 10 ||

English

Only the mind shines, which is so enchanting. It is merely a trace of impressions. Where is the universe? Where is the worldly existence?

English

This infinite space of consciousness is uncovered | A little stirred by its own mind, it is like the wind in motion

चिदाकाशमजं शान्तं सर्वत्रैव हि सर्वदा | चित्त्वाज्जगदिवाभाति स्वयमेवात्मनात्मनि || १२ ||

English

The peaceful, unborn space of consciousness is everywhere and always | It appears as the world, by itself, in the self

To the one who realizes, this is empty like the sky | To the one who does not realize, this is like a diamond mountain

गृह एव यथा स्वप्ने नगरं भाति भासुरम् | तथैतदसदेवान्तश्चिद्धातौ भाति भास्वरम् || १४ ||

Just as a city appears brightly in a dream, so does this unreal appear brightly in the realm of consciousness

यथा मरौ जलं बुद्धं कटकत्वं च हेमनि | असत्सदिव भातीदं तथा दृश्यत्वमात्मनि || १५ ||

yathā marau jalaṃ buddhaṃ kaṭakatvaṃ ca hemani | asatsadiva bhātīdaṃ tathā dṛśyatvamātmani || 15 ||

English

Just as water is perceived as a mirage in the desert and a bracelet in gold, so does this appear as real and unreal in the self

Thus conversing, those two beautiful women, with graceful movements, went out of the house.

The shore is adorned with the swaying of the swinging vines of the shore-grass, and the waves are carrying the sand marked with lines.
