श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच । नभःस्थलाद्गिरिग्रामं गच्छन्त्यौ कंचिदेव ते । ज्ञप्तिचित्तस्थितं भूमितलं ददृशतुः स्त्रियौ ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | nabhaḥsthalādgirigrāmaṃ gacchantyau kaṃcideva te | jñapticitasthitaṃ bhūmitalaṃ dadṛśatuḥ striyau || 1 ||

Vasishtha said, the two women were going from the sky toward a certain mountain village, and they saw the surface of the earth as it stood within their own awareness.

वसिष्ठ जी ने कहा, वे दोनों स्त्रियाँ आकाश से किसी पहाड़ी गाँव की ओर जा रही थीं, और उन्होंने पृथ्वी के तल को अपनी ही चेतना में बसा हुआ देखा।

ब्रह्माण्डनरहृत्पद्मं दिगष्टकदलं बृहत् । गिरिकेसरसंबाधं स्वामोदभरसुन्दरम् ॥ २ ॥

brahmāṇḍanarahṛtpadmaṃ digaṣṭakadalaṃ bṛhat | girikesarasaṃbādhaṃ svāmodabharasundaram || 2 ||

It was the great lotus that is the heart of the cosmic man of the universe egg, its eight big petals were the eight directions, it was crowded with mountains as its filaments, and it was beautiful with the weight of its own fragrance.

वह वही बड़ा कमल था जो ब्रह्माण्ड के पुरुष का हृदय है, उसकी आठ बड़ी पंखुड़ियाँ आठों दिशाएँ थीं, पहाड़ उसके रेशों की तरह भरे हुए थे, और वह अपनी ही खुशबू के बोझ से सुंदर लग रहा था।

सरित्केसरिकानालमध्येऽवश्यायबिन्दुकम् । शर्वरिभ्रमरीभ्रान्तं भूतौघमशकाकुलम् ॥ ३ ॥

saritkesarikānālamadhye'vaśyāyabindukam | śarvaribhramarībhrāntaṃ bhūtaughamaśakākulam || 3 ||

In the middle of the stalks that were its rivers there were drops of dew, night moved over it like a wandering bee, and it was crowded with swarms of creatures like gnats.

उसकी नदियों वाले डंठलों के बीच में ओस की बूँदें थीं, रात उस पर भटकती हुई मधुमक्खी की तरह घूम रही थी, और वह मच्छरों जैसे जीवों के झुंडों से भरा हुआ था।

अन्तर्गुणगणाकीर्णं सुरन्ध्रैः सुषिरैर्वृतम् । उह्यमानपयःपूरैर्दिवसालोककान्तिमत् ॥ ४ ॥

antarguṇagaṇākīrṇaṃ surandhraiḥ suṣirairvṛtam | uhyamānapayaḥpūrairdivasālokakāntimat || 4 ||

Inside, it was packed full with clusters of fibres, it was covered all over with fine hollow pores, and it shone with the beauty of daylight through the floods of water carried across it.

अंदर से वह रेशों के गुच्छों से भरा हुआ था, बारीक खोखले छिद्रों से ढका था, और उस पर बहते पानी की बाढ़ों में दिन के उजाले जैसी चमक थी।

रसार्द्रं खे भ्रमद्धंसं रात्रिसंकोचभाजनम् । पातालपङ्कनिर्मग्ननागनाथमृणालकम् ॥ ५ ॥

rasārdram khe bhramaddhaṃsam rātrisaṃkocabhājanam | pātālapankanirmagnanāganāthamṛṇālakam || 5 ||

It was wet with sap, swans wandered above it in the sky, it was a thing that closed up at night, and its stalk sank down into the mud of the underworld where the lord of serpents lives.

वह रस से भीगा हुआ था, आकाश में उसके ऊपर हंस घूमते थे, वह रात को बंद हो जाने वाली चीज़ थी, और उसका डंठल पाताल की कीचड़ में डूबा हुआ था जहाँ सर्पों का राजा रहता है।

कदाचिदास्पदाम्भोधिकम्पकम्पितदिग्दलम् । अधोनालगतानन्तदैत्यदानवकण्टकम् ॥ ६ ॥

kadācidāspadāmbhodhikampakampitadigdalam | adhonālagatānantadaityadānavakaṇṭakam || 6 ||

Sometimes its petals, the directions, shook because the ocean that was its base trembled, and down in its stalk, like thorns, sat countless demons and titans.

कभी-कभी उसकी पंखुड़ियाँ, यानी दिशाएँ, काँप जाती थीं क्योंकि उसका आधार बना समुद्र हिल जाता था, और उसके डंठल के नीचे, काँटों की तरह, अनगिनत दैत्य और दानव बैठे थे।

असुरस्त्रैणवल्लर्या संभोगसुकुमारया । प्राप्यभूभृन्महाबीजहृदयं भूतबीजया ॥ ७ ॥

asurastraiṇavallaryā saṃbhogasukumārayā | prāpyabhūbhṛnmahābījahṛdayaṃ bhūtabījayā || 7 ||

By the creeper that was the demon women, tender in their love-play and themselves the seed of all beings, having reached the heart that is the great seed of the mountain,

दानवों की स्त्रियों की उस बेल के द्वारा, जो प्रेम-क्रीड़ा में कोमल थी और स्वयं सब जीवों का बीज थी, पहाड़ के हृदय तक पहुँचकर, जो उसका बड़ा बीज है,

जम्बूद्वीप इति ख्यातां विपुलां तत्र कर्णिकाम् । सरित्केसरिकानाला नगरग्रामकेसराम् ॥ ८ ॥

jambūdvīpa iti khyātāṃ vipulāṃ tatra karṇikām | saritkesarikānālā nagaragrāmakeśarām || 8 ||

there, they saw the wide seed-pod known as Jambudvipa, its rivers as filament-stalks, and its cities and villages as filaments.

वहाँ उन्होंने जम्बूद्वीप नाम का वह बड़ा बीज-कोश देखा, जिसकी नदियाँ डंठलों जैसी थीं, और जिसके नगर और गाँव रेशों जैसे थे।

कुलशैलेश्वरोत्तुङ्गबीजसप्तकसुन्दरीम् । मध्यस्थोच्चमहामेरुबीजाक्रान्तनभस्थलीम् ॥ ९ ॥

kulaśailēśvarōttuṅgabījasaptakasundarīm | madhyasthōccamahāmērubījākrāntanabhasthalīm || 9 ||

It was beautiful with the seven tall seeds that are its chief family-mountains, and its sky was filled by the seed that is the great high Mount Meru standing in the middle,

वह अपने सात ऊँचे मुख्य पर्वतों रूपी बीजों से सुंदर था, और उसका आकाश बीच में खड़े महान ऊँचे मेरु पर्वत रूपी बीज से भरा हुआ था,

सरःप्रालेयकणिकां वनजङ्गलधूलिकाम् । स्थलेष्वामण्डलान्तस्थजनजालालिमण्डलाम् ॥ १० ॥

saraḥprāleyakaṇikāṃ vanajaṅgaladhūlikām | sthaleṣvāmaṇḍalāntasthajanajālālimaṇḍalām || 10 ||

its lakes were like flecks of frost, its forests and wild lands were like pollen-dust, and on its ground were circles of crowds of people packed to the very edge of the region.

उसकी झीलें ओस के कणों जैसी थीं, उसके जंगल और बीहड़ भूमि पराग की धूल जैसे थे, और उसकी ज़मीन पर लोगों की भीड़ के घेरे किनारे तक भरे हुए थे।

तां योजनशताकारैः प्रतिराकं प्रबोधिभिःसागरैर्भ्रमरैर्व्याप्ता दिक्वतुष्टयशालिभिः ॥ ११ ॥

tāṃ yojanaśatākāraiḥ pratirākaṃ prabodhibhiḥsāgarairbhramarairvyāptā dikvatuṣṭayaśālibhiḥ || 11 ||

It was covered, as though by bees, by the oceans, each a hundred leagues wide, waking to bloom every full-moon night, standing in the four directions.

वह जैसे मधुमक्खियों से, वैसे ही समुद्रों से ढका हुआ था, हर एक सौ योजन चौड़ा, हर पूर्णिमा की रात जाग उठने वाला, और चारों दिशाओं में खड़ा था।

दिग्दलाष्टकविश्रान्तससुराम्भोधिषट्पदाम्भ्रातृभिर्नवभिर्भूपैर्नवधा परिकल्पिताम् ॥ १२ ॥

digdalāṣṭakaviśrāntasasurāmbhodhiṣaṭpadāmbhrātṛbhirnavabhirbhūpairnavadhā parikalpitām || 12 ||

Those oceans, together with the gods, rested like bees on the eight petals of the directions, and that whole land was divided into nine parts by nine brother kings.

वे समुद्र, देवताओं के साथ, दिशाओं की आठ पंखुड़ियों पर मधुमक्खियों की तरह टिके हुए थे, और उस पूरी भूमि को नौ भाई राजाओं ने नौ भागों में बाँट दिया था।

लक्षयोजनविस्तीर्णामाकीर्णां च रजोलवैःनानाजनपदव्यूहस्थिरावश्यायसीकराम् ॥ १३ ॥

lakṣayojanavistīrṇāmākīrṇāṃ ca rajolavaiḥnānājanapadavyūhasthirāvaśyāyasīkarām || 13 ||

It stretched a hundred thousand leagues wide, and it was strewn with flecks of dust; its many kingdoms, gathered together, were like steady drops of dew on it.

वह एक लाख योजन चौड़ा फैला हुआ था, और उस पर धूल के कण बिखरे हुए थे; उसके कई राज्य, एक साथ मिलकर, उस पर पड़ी ओस की स्थिर बूँदों जैसे थे।

द्वीपात्तु द्विगुणं मानं लवणार्णवलेखयादधत्या वलितां बाह्ये प्रकोष्ठमिव कम्बुना ॥ १४ ॥

dvīpāttu dviguṇaṃ mānaṃ lavaṇārṇavalekhayādadhatyā valitāṃ bāhye prakoṣṭhamiva kambunā || 14 ||

That continent was ringed on the outside by a line of the Salt Ocean twice its own size, the way a forearm is ringed by a bangle.

उस द्वीप को बाहर से खारे समुद्र की एक रेखा ने घेर रखा था, जो उससे दुगुनी बड़ी थी, ठीक वैसे ही जैसे बाँह को चूड़ी घेरती है।

ततोऽपि द्विगुणं देहं दधत्या वलयाकृतिम्जगद्भूतलताव्याप्तां शाकाख्यद्वीपलेखया ॥ १५ ॥

tato'pi dviguṇaṃ dehaṃ dadhatyā valayākṛtimjagadbhūtalatāvyāptāṃ śākākhyadvīpalekhayā || 15 ||

And beyond that, ring-shaped, by a line twice that size again, was the continent called Shaka, covered over with the creepers that were all the living beings of the world.

और उससे भी आगे, चूड़ी जैसे आकार में, उससे दुगुनी बड़ी एक रेखा से घिरा हुआ शाक नाम का द्वीप था, जो संसार के सब जीवों रूपी बेलों से ढका हुआ था।

ततोऽपि द्विगुणाकारं धारयन्त्या च वेष्टिताम्प्रत्यग्रक्षीरपूर्णाब्धिलेखया स्वादुशीतया ॥ १६ ॥

tato'pi dviguṇākāraṃ dhārayantyā ca veṣṭitāmpratyagrakṣīrapūrṇābdhilekhayā svāduśītayā || 16 ||

And beyond that too, it was ringed by a line twice that size again, the ocean full of fresh milk, sweet and cool.

और उससे भी आगे, उससे दुगुनी बड़ी एक रेखा से वह घिरा हुआ था, वह ताज़े दूध से भरा हुआ समुद्र, जो मीठा और ठंडा था।

ततोऽपि द्विगुणाकारं धारयन्त्योपवेष्टिताम्नानाजनालंकृतया कुशाख्यद्वीपलेखया ॥ १७ ॥

tato'pi dviguṇākāraṃ dhārayantyopaveṣṭitāmnānājanālaṃkṛtayā kuśākhyadvīpalekhayā || 17 ||

And beyond that too, held at twice that size again, it was surrounded by the continent called Kusha, adorned with many peoples.

और उससे भी आगे, फिर से दुगुनी बड़ी नाप में, वह कुश नाम के द्वीप से घिरा हुआ था, जो कई तरह के लोगों से सजा हुआ था।

ततोऽपि द्विगुणाकारं धारयन्त्या च वेष्टिताम्दध्यब्धिलेखया नित्यसंतर्पितसुरौघया ॥ १८ ॥

tato'pi dviguṇākāraṃ dhārayantyā ca veṣṭitāmdadhyabdhilekhayā nityasaṃtarpitasuraughayā || 18 ||

And beyond that too, it was ringed by a line twice that size again, the ocean of curds, which always satisfies the multitudes of gods.

और उससे भी आगे, उससे दुगुनी बड़ी एक रेखा से वह घिरा हुआ था, वह दही का समुद्र, जो देवताओं के समूहों को हमेशा तृप्त रखता है।

ततः क्रौञ्चाभिधद्वीपलेखयैवं प्रमाणयावेष्टितां खातरचया नवां नृपपुरीमिव ॥ १९ ॥

tataḥ krauñcābhidhadvīpalekhayaivaṃ pramāṇayāveṣṭitāṃ khātaracayā navāṃ nṛpapurīmiva || 19 ||

Then, in that same doubled measure, it was ringed by the line of the continent called Krauncha, laid out with trenches like a newly built royal city.

फिर उसी दुगुनी नाप में, क्रौंच नाम के द्वीप की रेखा ने उसे घेर रखा था, जो खाइयों की बनावट में एक नए बने राजा के नगर जैसा था।

ततोऽपि च घृताम्भोधिलेखयैवं प्रमाणयाततोऽपि शाल्मलीद्वीपलेखया मलपूर्णया ॥ २० ॥

tato'pi ca ghṛtāmbhodhilekhayaivaṃ pramāṇayātato'pi śālmalīdvīpalekhayā malapūrṇayā || 20 ||

And beyond that again, in that same measure, was the line of the ocean of ghee, and beyond that, the line of the continent called Shalmali, full of impurity.

और उससे भी आगे, उसी नाप में, घी के समुद्र की रेखा थी, और उससे भी आगे, शाल्मली नाम के द्वीप की रेखा थी, जो मैल से भरी हुई थी।

ततः सुरामहाम्भोधिलेखया पुष्पशुभ्रयाशेषस्य देहलतया हरिमूर्तिमिवावृताम् ॥ २१ ॥

tataḥ surāmahāmbhodhilekhayā puṣpaśubhrayāśeṣasya dehalatayā harimūrtimivāvṛtām || 21 ||

Then it was covered by the line of the great ocean of wine, white with foam like flowers, wrapped around it like the coiled body of Shesha wrapped around the form of Hari.

फिर उसे शराब के बड़े समुद्र की रेखा ने ढक लिया, जो फूलों जैसे सफ़ेद झाग से भरी थी, और उसके चारों ओर वैसे ही लिपटी थी जैसे शेषनाग का शरीर हरि के रूप के चारों ओर लिपटा रहता है।

ततो गोमेदकद्वीपलेखयैवप्रमाणयाइक्ष्वभ्दिलेखयाप्येवं हिमवत्सानुशुद्धया ॥ २२ ॥

tato gomedakadvīpalekhayaivapramāṇayāikṣvabdhilekhayāpyevaṃ himavatsānuśuddhayā || 22 ||

Then, in that same measure, by the line of the continent called Gomedaka, and likewise by the line of the sugarcane-juice ocean, pure as the snowy ridges of the Himalaya.

फिर, उसी नाप में, गोमेदक नाम के द्वीप की रेखा से, और वैसे ही गन्ने के रस के समुद्र की रेखा से, जो हिमालय की बर्फ़ीली चोटियों जैसी शुद्ध थी।

ततोऽपि पुष्करद्वीपलेखया द्विगुणस्थयान्ते स्वादूदकाम्भोधिलेखयैवं प्रमाणया ॥ २३ ॥

tato'pi puṣkaradvīpalekhayā dviguṇasthayāante svādūdakāmbhodhilekhayaivaṃ pramāṇayā || 23 ||

And beyond that again, by the line of the continent Pushkara, standing at double that size, and last of all, by the line of the ocean of sweet water, in that same measure.

और उससे भी आगे, पुष्कर द्वीप की रेखा से, जो दुगुनी नाप में खड़ी थी, और सबसे अंत में, मीठे पानी के समुद्र की रेखा से, उसी नाप में।

ततो दशगुणेनाथ पातालतलगामिनानिखातवलयेनोच्चैः श्वभ्रसंभाररूपिणा ॥ २४ ॥

tato daśaguṇenātha pātālatalagāminānikhātavalayenoccaiḥ śvabhrasaṃbhārarūpiṇā || 24 ||

Then, beyond that, by a ring ten times as large, going down to the floor of the underworld, a deep dug-out ring shaped like a mass of pits.

फिर उससे भी आगे, दस गुनी बड़ी एक घेरने वाली रेखा से, जो पाताल के तल तक जाती थी, गहरी खुदी हुई एक घेरे जैसी रेखा से, जो गड्ढों के ढेर जैसी दिखती थी।

पातालगामिमार्गेण वलितां भयदात्मनाएतस्मात्खलु सर्वस्मात्ततो दशगुणोच्चया ॥ २५ ॥

pātālagāmimārgeṇa valitāṃ bhayadātmanāetasmātkhalu sarvasmāttato daśaguṇoccayā || 25 ||

That ring was wrapped round by a road going down to the underworld, a road that was frightening by its very nature. And going out beyond all of this, the next ring rose ten times higher.

उस घेरे को पाताल तक जाने वाले रास्ते ने घेर रखा था, जो अपने-आप में डरावना था। और इस सबसे आगे अगला घेरा दस गुना ऊँचा था।

आव्योमसु चतुर्दिक्षु श्वभ्रसंभारभीषयार्धोन्म्लानतमोरूपलग्ननीलोत्पलस्रजा ॥ २६ ॥

āvyomasu caturdikṣu śvabhrasaṃbhārabhīṣayāardhonmlānatamorūpalagnanīlotpalasrajā || 26 ||

In the sky, in all four directions, it was frightening with its heap of pits and chasms, and it wore a garland of blue lotuses clinging to a shape of half-faded darkness.

आकाश में, चारों दिशाओं में, वह गड्ढों और खाइयों के ढेर से डरावना लगता था, और उस पर आधे बुझे हुए अँधेरे जैसी आकृति से चिपकी नीले कमलों की एक माला थी।

नानामाणिक्यशिखरकह्लारकुमुदाब्जयालोकालोकाचलोत्तालविपुलोद्दाममालया ॥ २७ ॥

nānāmāṇikyaśikharakahlārakumudābjayālokālokācalottālavipuloddāmamālayā || 27 ||

It had many peaks made of ruby, and it had white lotuses, night lotuses, and day lotuses; and it wore, like a garland, the tall, vast, sprawling range of the Lokaloka mountain.

उसकी अनेक चोटियाँ माणिक की थीं, और उस पर सफेद कमल, रात में खिलने वाले कमल और दिन में खिलने वाले कमल थे, और लोकालोक पर्वत की ऊँची, विशाल, फैली हुई शृंखला उसकी माला जैसी लगती थी।

वलितां त्रिजगल्लक्ष्मीधम्मिल्लवलनामिवेतस्मादेव सर्वस्मात्ततो दशगुणात्मना ॥ २८ ॥

valitāṃ trijagallakṣmīdhammillavalanāmivaetasmādeva sarvasmāttato daśaguṇātmanā || 28 ||

It was wrapped round like the coiled knot of hair of the goddess who is the splendour of the three worlds. And going out beyond all of this again, the next ring was ten times greater.

वह ऐसे लिपटा हुआ था जैसे तीनों लोकों की शोभा-रूपी लक्ष्मी के बालों का जूड़ा लिपटा होता है। और इस सबसे आगे फिर अगला घेरा दस गुना बड़ा था।

अज्ञातभूतसंचारनाम्नारण्येन मालितामेतस्मादेव सर्वस्मात्ततो दशगुणात्मना ॥ २९ ॥

ajñātabhūtasaṃcāranāmnāraṇyena mālitāmetasmādeva sarvasmāttato daśaguṇātmanā || 29 ||

It was garlanded by a forest called 'the place where even the movement of any creature is unknown.' And going out beyond all of this again, the next ring was ten times greater.

उसे एक ऐसे जंगल की माला पहनाई गई थी जिसका नाम था 'वह जगह जहाँ किसी जीव के चलने का भी पता नहीं चलता।' और इस सबसे आगे फिर अगला घेरा दस गुना बड़ा था।

नभसेव चतुर्दिक्कं व्याप्तामतुलवारिणाएतस्मादेव सर्वस्मात्ततो दशगुणात्मना ॥ ३० ॥

nabhaseva caturdikkaṃ vyāptāmatulavāriṇāetasmādeva sarvasmāttato daśaguṇātmanā || 30 ||

It was covered on all four sides, like the sky, by a huge body of water that had no equal. And going out beyond all of this again, the next ring was ten times greater.

वह चारों दिशाओं में आकाश की तरह फैले हुए एक बेजोड़ पानी के समूह से ढका हुआ था। और इस सबसे आगे फिर अगला घेरा दस गुना बड़ा था।

मेर्वादिद्रावणोत्केन ज्वालाजालेन मालितामेतस्मादथ सर्वस्मात्ततो दशगुणात्मना ॥ ३१ ॥

mervādidrāvaṇotkena jvālājālena mālitāmetasmādatha sarvasmāttato daśaguṇātmanā || 31 ||

It was garlanded by a net of flames fierce enough to melt Mount Meru and mountains like it. And going out beyond all of this, the next ring was ten times greater.

उसे आग की ऐसी लपटों के जाल की माला पहनाई गई थी जो मेरु जैसे पर्वतों को भी पिघला दे। और इस सबसे आगे अगला घेरा दस गुना बड़ा था।

मेर्वाद्यचलसङ्घातं नयता तृणपांसुवत्वहताद्रीन्द्रविस्फोटकारिणा जवहारिणा ॥ ३२ ॥

mervādyacalasaṅghātaṃ nayatā tṛṇapāṃsuvatvahatādrīndravisphoṭakāriṇā javahāriṇā || 32 ||

There a wind carried off the whole mass of mountains, Meru and the rest, as if they were mere straw and dust; that wind burst open even the greatest of mountains and swept everything away with its speed.

वहाँ एक हवा मेरु सहित पहाड़ों के पूरे ढेर को यूँ उड़ा ले जाती थी जैसे वे सूखी घास और धूल हों; वह हवा बड़े से बड़े पर्वत को भी तोड़-फोड़ देती थी और अपनी तेज़ रफ़्तार से सब कुछ बहा ले जाती थी।

निःशून्यत्वादशब्देन मरुता परितो वृतमेतस्मादथ सर्वस्मात्ततो दशगुणात्मना ॥ ३३ ॥

niḥśūnyatvādaśabdena marutā parito vṛtametasmādatha sarvasmāttato daśaguṇātmanā || 33 ||

It was surrounded on every side by that wind, a wind that made no sound because there was no empty space left in it. And going out beyond all of this, the next ring was ten times greater.

वह हर तरफ से उसी हवा से घिरा हुआ था, जिसमें कोई खाली जगह न होने के कारण कोई आवाज़ नहीं थी। और इस सबसे आगे अगला घेरा दस गुना बड़ा था।

परितो वलितं व्योम्ना निःशून्येनैकरूपिणाथ योजनकोटीनां शतेन घनरूणिणाव्याप्तं ब्रह्माण्डकुड्येन हैमेनापि द्विपर्वणा ॥ ३४ ॥

parito valitaṃ vyomnā niḥśūnyenaikarūpiṇāatha yojanakoṭīnāṃ śatena ghanarūṇiṇāvyāptaṃ brahmāṇḍakuḍyena haimenāpi dviparvaṇā || 34 ||

It was surrounded on every side by space that was one solid mass with no empty gap in it, stretching a hundred crore yojanas thick. And that whole space was enclosed by the golden wall of the cosmic egg, a wall made of two joined pieces.

वह हर तरफ से ऐसे आकाश से घिरा था जो पूरी तरह ठोस था, जिसमें कोई खाली जगह नहीं थी, और जो सौ करोड़ योजन मोटा फैला हुआ था। और वह पूरा आकाश ब्रह्मांड की उस सोने की दीवार से घिरा था जो दो जुड़े हुए हिस्सों से बनी थी।

इति जलधिमहाद्रिलोकपालत्रिदशपुराम्बरभूतलैः परीतम्जगदुदरमवेक्ष्य मानुषी द्राग्भुवि निजमन्दिरकोटरं ददर्श ॥ ३५ ॥

iti jaladhimahādrilokapālatridaśapurāmbarabhūtalaiḥ parītamjagadudaramavekṣya mānuṣī drāgbhuvi nijamandirakoṭaraṃ dadarśa || 35 ||

Having in this way seen the inside of the whole universe, surrounded by oceans, great mountains, the guardians of the directions, the cities of the gods, the sky, and the surface of the earth, the woman then quickly caught sight of the small hollow of her own house on the earth.

इस तरह समुद्रों, बड़े पर्वतों, दिशाओं के रक्षकों, देवताओं के नगरों, आकाश और धरती की सतह से घिरे हुए पूरे संसार के भीतरी भाग को देखने के बाद, उस स्त्री ने पृथ्वी पर तुरंत अपने घर के छोटे-से कोने को देख लिया।
