श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच । दूराद्दूरमभिप्लुत्य शनैरुच्चैः पदं गते । हस्तं हस्ते समालम्ब्य यान्त्यौ ददृशतुर्नभः ॥ || १ ||

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | dūrāddūramabhiplutya śanairuccaiḥ padaṃ gate | hastaṃ hastē samālambya yāntyau dadṛśaturnabhaḥ || 1 ||

English

Śrīvasiṣṭha said: Having traveled far and wide, slowly and steadily they reached the destination. Holding each other's hands, they looked at the sky.

हिन्दी

श्रीवसिष्ठ ने कहा: दूर-दूर तक यात्रा करके, धीरे-धीरे वे अपने लक्ष्य तक पहुँचे। एक दूसरे के हाथ पकड़े हुए, वे आकाश को देख रहे थे।

एकार्णवमिवोच्छूनं गम्भीरं निर्मलान्तरम् । कोमलं कोमलमरुदासङ्गसुखभोगदम् ॥ || २ ||

ekārṇavamivocchūnaṃ gambhīraṃ nirmalāntaram | komalaṃ komalamarudāsaṅgasukhabhogadam || 2 ||

English

Like a vast ocean, it is deep and pure within, soft and gentle with the touch of the wind, offering the pleasure of blissful enjoyment.

āhlādakamalaṃ saumyaṃ śūnyatāmbhonimajjanāt atyantaśuddhaṃ gambhīraṃ prasannamapi sajjanāt || 3 ||

English

The lotus of joy is gentle; it blossoms by diving into the waters of emptiness. It is utterly pure, deep, and clear, and is also made serene by the company of the good.

आनन्द का कमल सौम्य होता है; शून्यता के जल में डूबने से खिलता है। यह अत्यन्त शुद्ध, गहरा और निर्मल होता है, और सज्जनों की संगति से शान्त भी बनता है।

क्वचिदत्यन्तनिःशून्यमवदातमनन्तरम् । आनन्दमृदुशान्ताच्छं ज्ञस्येव हृदयं ततम् ॥ || ४ ||

kvacidatyantaniḥśūnyamavadātamanantaram | ānandamṛduśāntācchaṃ jñasyeva hṛdayaṃ tatam || 4 ||

English

Sometimes it is completely empty, without any interruption, filled with blissful, gentle, peaceful, and clear heart, like that of a knower.

कभी-कभी यह पूर्णतः शून्य होता है, बिना किसी अवरोध के, आनंदमय, कोमल, शांत और स्पष्ट हृदय से भरा हुआ, जैसे कि एक ज्ञाता का हृदय।

English

Enchanting with the fragrance of the celestial Gandharvas' garlands, they delight in the sweet breeze emerging from the moon's disc.

दिव्य गंधर्वों की मालाओं की सुगंध से मोहित, वे चंद्रमंडल से उत्पन्न मधुर वायु में रमण करते हैं।

English

At the end of the intense heat, they bathed in the cloud-filled sky, which was full of lightning and red lotuses, like a lake filled with water.

They wandered freely in the vast earth, which was filled with great mountains and countless lotus sprouts, like bees in lakes.

English

With the mind fixed on the abode of the stream, they wandered in the wind-disturbed cloud pavilion, bearing the waterfall of the calm Ganga.

ततो मधुरगामिन्यौ विश्राम्यन्त्यौ स्वशक्तितः | शून्ये ददृशतुर्व्योम महारम्भातिमन्थरम् || ९ ||

English

Then, the sweet-moving ones rested according to their own strength, and in the empty sky, they saw the very vast and spacious expanse.

English

They saw each other for the first time, the entire difficult situation, which could not be filled even by hundreds of millions of worlds, was empty.

English

Above and above, distinctly covered with various ornaments and beautiful mansions, the earth is adorned with various levels.

परितः पूरितव्योम्नां मेर्वादिकुलभूभृताम् पद्मरागतटोद्द्योतैः कल्पज्वालोपमोदरम् || १२ ||

paritaḥ pūritavyomnāṃ meruvādikulabhūbhṛtām padmarāgataṭoddyotaiḥ kalpajvālopamodaram || 12 ||

English

All around, the sky is filled with the radiance of the ruby-colored shores, resembling the flames of a wish-fulfilling tree, of the descendants of Meru and other mountains.

The beautiful peaks of the Himalayas are adorned with pearls, and the golden mountains shine with their radiance.

महामरकताभाभिः शाद्वलस्थलनीलिमम् द्रष्टृदृश्यक्षयासक्तजातध्वान्तोत्थकालिमम् || १४ ||

mahāmarakatābhābhir śādvalasthalaṇīlimam draṣṭṛdṛśyakṣayāsaktajātadhvāntottakālimam || 14 ||

English

The green fields are adorned with the radiance of large emeralds, and the darkness of ignorance is dispelled by the sight of the divine.

हरे खेतों को बड़े पन्नों की चमक से सजा हुआ है, और दिव्य दृष्टि से अज्ञान का अंधकार दूर हो जाता है।

पारिजातलतालोलविमानगणकेतनम् अतो मञ्जरिकाकारमिव वैदूर्यभूतलम् || १५ ||

English

The earth is like a cluster of flowers, adorned with the swaying branches of the Parijata tree and the mansions of the celestial beings.

English

The swift movement of the mind, the conquest of the wind, the coming and going of the wind, the sound of the divine women's songs and instruments in the aerial chariots.

English

The movement of the best beings in the three worlds, uninterrupted, and the mutual observation of the movement of the gods and demons.

A circle of gourd-like demons, ghosts, and goblins stationed at the edges, with a mass of wind as its trunk, carrying a swift-moving throng of aerial chariots.

The place abandoned by the lesser accomplished beings, burned by the nearby heat, the wind from the mouth of the sun's horse, the aerial chariot burned and stupefied.

The realm is filled with the restless movement of the Apsaras, the celestial nymphs, and the fragrance of burnt incense, creating a cloud-like atmosphere.

The divine women, summoned from their respective heavens, have their ornaments scattered on their bodies. The assembly of common Siddhas possesses immense power and brilliance.

valavatsiddhasaṅghaṭṭagamāgamavighaṭṭitaiḥ | ghanaiḥ sāṃśukapārśvasthahimavanmerumandaram || 23 ||

English

The assembly of powerful Siddhas is filled with the sounds of their coming and going, creating a dense atmosphere. They are accompanied by the sounds of the Himavat, Meru, and Mandara mountains.

The realm is filled with the sounds of crows, owls, and vultures, which are restless and numerous. It is as if the ocean is dancing with waves, with the Dakinis performing their dance.

English

The realm is filled with the sounds of Yoginis and various animals like dogs, crows, camels, and donkeys, who have traveled a hundred yojanas without any purpose.

English

In the palace of the clouds, darkened by the smoke of the lamps of the guardians of the world, the festival of love of the Siddhas and Gandharvas is being celebrated.

English

Intoxicated by the celestial songs and praises, the path is filled with the madness of love, and the wheels of the chariot are marked by the unceasing movement of the wings.

English

The wind, carrying the water from the three paths, is moving within the dug-out shoulder of the mountain, and the celestial child is moving with wonder, looking at the marvels.

In some place, the embodied beings are moving with the thunderbolt, discus, trident, sword, and spear, and the house without a wall is being sung by Nārada and Tumburu.

English

Somewhere, the great clouds are agitated with great endeavors, and the cloud resembling a picture is like the rain of the end of the world.

Sometimes, the cloud appears like a mountain of lotus flowers, beautiful and full of water. Sometimes, it appears like a golden, glowing cloud that ends the heat.

Sometimes, the cloud is like a garment that absorbs the heat of the directions. Sometimes, it is like an ocean filled with wind, empty of water.

Sometimes, the cloud is like the dust of the wind from the Meru mountain river. Sometimes, it is like the colorful strength of the chariot of the gods.

English

Sometimes, the cloud is adorned with the dance of the mother's circle without clothes. Sometimes, it is the eternal group of hungry, new, and divine yoginis.
