śrīvasiṣṭha uvācaiti saṃkathanaṃ kṛtvā tasyāṃ niśi varāṅganesupte parijane nūnamathāntaḥpuramaṇḍape || 1 ||
Śrīvasiṣṭha said: Having thus conversed, in that night, with the attendants asleep, certainly in the inner chamber.
श्रीवसिष्ठ ने कहा: इस प्रकार वार्तालाप करके, उस रात में, परिचारिकाओं के सो जाने पर, निश्चय ही अन्तःपुर में।
दृढाखिलार्गलद्वारगवाक्षे दक्षचेतसिपुष्पप्रकरनिष्ठयूतमांसलामोदमन्थरे || २ ||
dṛḍhākhilārgaladvāragavākṣe dakṣacetasipuṣpaprakaraniṣṭhayūtamāṃsalāmodamanthare || 2 ||
In the firmly bolted door, with the skilled mind, adorned with flowers, in the fragrant inner chamber.
दृढ़ता से बंद दरवाजे में, कुशल मन के साथ, फूलों से सजे, सुगंधित अन्तःपुर में।
अम्लानमालावसनशवपार्श्वासनस्थितेसकलामलपूर्णेन्दुवदनद्योतितास्पदे || ३ ||
amlānamālāvasanaśavapārśvāsanasthitesakalāmalapūrṇenduvadanadyotitāspade || 3 ||
In the spot illuminated by the moon-like face, adorned with a garland and clean clothes, seated on the left side.
चंद्रमा-जैसे मुख से प्रकाशित स्थान में, माला और साफ वस्त्रों से सजे, बाईं ओर बैठे हुए।
समाथिस्थानकं गत्वा तस्थतुर्निश्चलाङ्गिकेरत्नस्तम्भादिवोत्कीर्णे चित्रे भित्ताविवार्पिते || ४ ||
samāthisthānakaṃ gatvā tasthaturniścalāṅgikeratnastambhādivotkīrṇe citre bhittāvivārpite || 4 ||
Having gone to the equal standing place, they stood still, with the picture adorned with precious pillars and other ornaments on the wall.
समान स्थान पर जाकर, वे स्थिर खड़े हुए, दीवार पर बने चित्र के साथ, जो मूल्यवान स्तंभों और अन्य आभूषणों से सजा हुआ था।
सर्वास्तत्यजतुश्चिन्ताः संकोचं समुपागतेदिवसान्त इवाब्जिन्यौ प्रसृतामोदलेखिके || ५ ||
sarvāstatyajatuścintāḥ saṃkocaṃ samupāgatedivasānta ivābjinyau prasṛtāmodalekhike || 5 ||
All thoughts of abandonment vanished, and contraction arose, as if at the end of the day, the lotus-eyed one with a pleasant smile.
सभी त्याग की चिंताएँ विलुप्त हो गईं, और संकोच उत्पन्न हुआ, जैसे दिन के अंत में, कमलनयन के साथ एक मधुर मुस्कान।
बभूवतुर्भृशं शान्ते शुद्धे स्पन्दविवर्जिते । गिरौ शरदि निर्वात इव भ्रष्टाभ्रमालिके || ६ ||
babhūvaturbhṛśaṃ śānte śuddhe spandavivarjite | girau śaradi nirvāta iva bhraṣṭābhramālike || 6 ||
In the calm, pure, and motionless mountain during autumn, devoid of wind, they became extremely peaceful, like the sky without clouds.
शान्त, शुद्ध और निश्चल पर्वत पर शरद ऋतु में, जहाँ हवा नहीं थी, वे अत्यंत शांत हो गए, जैसे बादलों से रहित आकाश।
निर्विकल्पसमाधानाज्जहतुर्बाह्यसंविदम् । यथा कल्पलते कान्ते पूर्वमृत्वन्तरे रसम् || ७ ||
nirvikalpasamādhānājjahaturbāhyasaṃvidam | yathā kalpalate kānte pūrvamṛtvantare rasam || 7 ||
Through the state of nirvikalpa samadhi, they abandoned external consciousness, just as one might abandon the taste of a wish-fulfilling vine from a previous life.
निर्विकल्प समाधि की अवस्था के द्वारा, वे बाहरी चेतना को छोड़ दिया, जैसे कोई पिछले जन्म की इच्छा-पूर्ति लता के स्वाद को छोड़ देता है।
अहं जगदिति भ्रान्तिदृश्यस्यादावनुद्भवः । यदा ताभ्यामवगतस्यवत्यन्ताभावनात्मकः || ८ ||
ahaṃ jagaditi bhrāntidṛśyasyādāvanudbhavaḥ | yadā tābhyāmavagatasyavatyantābhāvanātmakaḥ || 8 ||
The illusion that 'I am the world' arises at the beginning of perception. When this is understood by them, it is completely non-existent.
'मैं ही संसार हूँ' यह भ्रांति अनुभूति की शुरुआत में उत्पन्न होती है। जब यह उन्हें समझ में आता है, तो यह पूर्णतः असत् हो जाता है।
तदा दृश्यपिशाचोऽयमलमस्तं गतो द्वयोः । असत्त्वादेव चास्माकं शशशृङ्गमिवानघ || ९ ||
tadā dṛśyapiśāco'yamalamasthaṃ gato dvayoḥ | asattvādeva cāsmākaṃ śaśaśṛṅgamivānagha || 9 ||
Then, this illusion, which is like a ghost, ceased to exist for both of them. Due to its non-existence, it is like the horns of a hare, O sinless one.
तब, यह भ्रांति, जो कि एक भूत की तरह है, दोनों के लिए अस्त हो गई। इसकी असत्ता के कारण, यह एक खरगोश के सींगों की तरह है, हे निष्पाप।
आदावेव हि यन्नास्ति वर्तमानेऽपि तत्तथा । भातं वाऽभातमेवातो मृगतृष्णाम्बुवज्जगत् || १० ||
ādāveva hi yannāsti vartamāne'pi tattathā | bhātaṃ vā'bhātamevāto mṛgatṛṣṇāmbuvajjagat || 10 ||
Indeed, that which does not exist from the beginning, even if it appears to exist, is truly non-existent. Thus, the world is like the mirage water, whether it appears or not.
वास्तव में, जो शुरुआत में नहीं है, भले ही वह मौजूद लगे, वह वास्तव में असत् है। इस प्रकार, संसार मृगतृष्णा के जल की तरह है, चाहे वह दिखाई दे या नहीं।
स्वभावकेवलं शान्तं स्त्रीद्वयं तद्बभूव हचन्द्रार्कादिपदार्थौघैर्दूरमुक्तमिवाम्बरम् || ११ ||
svabhāvakevalaṃ śāntaṃ strīdvayaṃ tadbabhūva hacandrārkādipadārthaughairdūramuktamivāmbaram || 11 ||
By their own nature, the two women became calm, as if the sky had been cleared of the moon, sun, and other objects.
अपने स्वभाव से, दोनों स्त्रियाँ शान्त हो गईं, मानो आकाश चन्द्रमा, सूर्य और अन्य वस्तुओं से साफ हो गया हो।
तेनैव ज्ञानदेहेन चचार ज्ञप्तिदेवतामानुषी त्वितरेणाशु ध्यानज्ञानानुरूपिणा || १२ ||
tenaiva jñānadehena cacāra jñaptidevatāmānuṣī tvitareṇāśu dhyānajñānānurūpiṇā || 12 ||
With that very body of knowledge, he moved, recognizing the divine and human, and quickly with the other, conforming to meditation and knowledge.
उसी ज्ञान के शरीर से, उसने देवता और मनुष्य को पहचाना, और दूसरे के साथ तुरंत ध्यान और ज्ञान के अनुरूप चला।
गेहान्तरेव प्रादेशमात्रमारुह्य संविदाबभूवतुश्चिदाकाशरूपिण्यौ व्योमगाकृती || १३ ||
gehāntareva prādeśamātramāruhya saṃvidābabhūvatuścidākāśarūpiṇyau vyomagākṛtī || 13 ||
Within the house, they ascended to a small space and became aware of the form of consciousness and space.

Then, those charming women, playful and graceful, by their very nature, went far away from the awareness of the sky.
तब, वे मनमोहक स्त्रियाँ, खेल-खिलवाड़ और सुंदर नेत्रों वाली, अपने स्वभाव से, आकाश की चेतना से दूर चली गईं।
तत्रस्थे वाथ चिद्वृत्त्या पुप्लुवाते नभस्थलम्कोटियोजनविस्तीर्णं दूराद्दूरतरान्तरम् || १५ ||
tatrasthe vātha cidvṛttyā pupluvāte nabhasthalamkoṭiyojanavistīrṇaṃ dūrāddūratarāntaram || 15 ||
There, by the power of consciousness, they floated in the sky, spreading over millions of yojanas, far and farther away.
वहाँ, चेतना की शक्ति से, वे आकाश में तैरते हुए, करोड़ों योजन तक फैल गए, दूर और और दूर।
दृश्यानुसन्धाननिजस्वभावादाकाशदेहे अपि ते मिथोऽत्रपरस्पराकारविलोकनेन बभूवतुः स्नेहपरे वयस्ये || १६ ||
dṛśyānusandhānanijasvabhāvādākāśadehe api te mitho'traparasparākāravilokanena babhūvatuḥ snehapare vayasye || 16 ||
Due to their inherent nature of perceiving the visible, even in their ethereal bodies, they became affectionate friends through mutual respectful gazing.
अपने दृश्य अनुसंधान के स्वभाव के कारण, आकाशीय शरीर में भी, वे परस्पर सम्मानपूर्वक देखने से स्नेहपूर्ण मित्र बन गए।
