śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | atha rāghava rudraṃ taṃ tadā tasminmahāmbare | pravṛttaṃ nartituṃ mattamapaśyaṃ vitatākṛtim || 1 ||
Vasishtha said: Then, O Raghava, I saw Rudra, who was engaged in dancing wildly in that great sky, with a vast form.
वसिष्ठ ने कहा: फिर, हे रघुवंशी, मैंने उस महान आकाश में उन्मत्त होकर नृत्य करते हुए रुद्र को देखा, जिनका आकार विशाल था।
व्योमेवाकृतिमापन्नमजहद्व्यापितां निजाम् । महाकारं घनश्यामं दशाशापरिपूरकम् || २ ||
vyomevākṛtimāpannamajahadvyāpitāṃ nijām | mahākāraṃ ghanaśyāmaṃ daśāśāparipūrakam || 2 ||
He had assumed the form of the sky itself, abandoning his own pervasive form. He was of great size, dark blue in color, and filling the ten directions.
वह आकाश के रूप में आ गया था, अपने व्यापक रूप को छोड़कर। वह विशाल आकार का, घने नीले रंग का और दसों दिशाओं को भरने वाला था।
अर्केन्दुवह्निनयनं चलद्दशदिगम्बरघनदीर्घप्रभाजालमालानां श्यामलार्चिषाम् || ३ ||
arkenduvahninayanaṃ caladdaśadigambaramghanadīrghaprabhājālamālānaṃ śyāmalārciṣām || 3 ||
With eyes like the sun, moon, and fire, he was adorned with garlands of rays that were moving in the ten directions, dense and long, and had dark rays.
जिनकी आँखें सूर्य, चंद्रमा और अग्नि की तरह थीं, वह दसों दिशाओं में चलती हुई, घनी और लंबी किरणों की मालाओं से सुशोभित था, जिनकी किरणें काली थीं।
वडवाग्निदृशं लोलभुजोर्मिभरभासुरम् । एकार्णवार्णो द्राग्देहबन्धेनेव समुत्थितम् || ४ ||
vaḍavāgnidṛśaṃ lolabhujormibharabhāsuram | ekārṇavārṇo drāgdehabandhenaiva samutthitam || 4 ||
He had the appearance of the submarine fire, with shining, restless waves of arms. He seemed to have arisen from the bondage of the body, like a single ocean.
उनका रूप समुद्री अग्नि के समान था, चमकदार, बेचैन बाहुओं की लहरों के साथ। वह शरीर के बंधन से उठा हुआ लग रहा था, जैसे एक समुद्र।
पश्याम्यनन्तरमहं यावत्तस्य शरीरतः । छायेव परिनिर्याति नर्तनानुविधायिनी || ५ ||
paśyāmyanantaramahaṃ yāvattasya śarīrataḥ | chāyeva pariniryāti nartanānuvidhāyinī || 5 ||
I see that from his body, a shadow-like form emerges, following the dance.
मैं देखता हूँ कि उसके शरीर से एक छाया के समान रूप निकलता है, जो नृत्य का अनुसरण करता है।
सूर्येष्वविद्यमानेषु महातमसि चाम्बरे | स्थिता कथमियं छाया भवेदिति मतिर्मम || ६ ||
sūryeṣvavidyamāneṣu mahātamasi cāmbare | sthitā kathamayaṃ chāyā bhavediti matirmama || 6 ||
In the absence of the suns, in the great darkness of the room, how can this shadow exist? This is my thought.
सूर्यों के अभाव में, कमरे में महान अंधेरे में, यह छाया कैसे हो सकती है? यह मेरा विचार है।
यावद्विचारयाम्याशु तावत्तस्य तदा पुरः | सा स्थिता परिनृत्यन्ती विस्तीर्णा श्रीत्रिलोचना || ७ ||
yāvadvicārayāmyāśu tāvattasya tadā puraḥ | sā sthitā parinṛtyantī vistīrṇā śrītrilocanā || 7 ||
As soon as I began to think about it, she appeared before me, dancing and spreading out, the glorious three-eyed one.

kṛṣṇā kṛśā śirālāṅgī jarjarā vitatākṛtiḥ | jvālākulānalālolavanasaṃbhāraśekharā || 8 ||
Dark, thin, with a long body, old, with a spread-out form, with a crown of blazing, waving forest fire.
काली, दुबली, लंबे शरीर वाली, बूढ़ी, फैली हुई आकृति वाली, जलते हुए जंगल की आग की लहराती मुकुट वाली।
मिन्नाञ्जनतमःश्यामा यामिनोवाकृतिं गता | तमःश्रीर्देहयुक्तेव साकारेवाम्बरद्युतिः || ९ ||
minnāñjanatamaḥśyāmā yāminovākṛtiṃ gatā | tamaḥśrīrdehayukteva sākārevāmbardyutiḥ || 9 ||
Dark as the night, having the form of the night, as if the glory of darkness embodied, appearing as if the sky itself.
रात की तरह काली, रात की आकृति वाली, जैसे अंधेरे की शोभा शरीर धारण कर ली हो, आकाश की तरह दिखाई देती हुई।
अतिदीर्घा करालास्या नभो मातुमिवोद्यता | दीर्घजानुभुजभ्रान्त्या मातुकामेव दिङ्मुखम् || १० ||
atidīrghā karālāsyā nabho mātumivodyatā | dīrghajānubhujabhrāntyā mātukāmeva diṅmukham || 10 ||
Very tall, with a terrifying face, as if ready to measure the sky, with long knees and arms, appearing like a mother facing all directions.
बहुत लंबी, भयानक चेहरे वाली, जैसे आकाश को मापने के लिए तैयार, लंबे घुटनों और भुजाओं वाली, सभी दिशाओं की ओर मुँह करके माँ की तरह दिखाई देती हुई।
कृशा बहूपवासेव परिनिम्नमहातनुः | कज्जलश्यामला मेघमालेव पवनाकुला || ११ ||
kṛśā bahūpavāseva parinimnamahātanuḥ | kajjalśyāmalā meghamāleva pavanākulā || 11 ||
She is emaciated due to prolonged fasting, her body is extremely thin, dark like kajal, and she is agitated like a cloud driven by the wind.
वह लंबे समय तक उपवास करने के कारण दुबली हो गई है, उसका शरीर अत्यंत पतला है, काजल की तरह काला है, और वह हवा से उड़ते बादल की तरह व्याकुल है।
कृशाशक्ता यदा स्थातुं सुदीर्घा विधिना तदा | ग्रथितेव शिरारूपैर्दामभिर्दैर्घ्यशालिभिः || १२ ||
kṛśāśaktā yadā sthātuṃ sudīrghā vidhinā tadā | grathiteva śirārūpairdāmabhirdaidrghyaśālibhiḥ || 12 ||
When she is unable to stand due to weakness, she appears very tall, tied with long ropes resembling veins.
जब वह कमजोरी के कारण खड़ी नहीं हो सकती, तब वह बहुत लंबी दिखाई देती है, लंबी रस्सियों से बंधी हुई, जो नसों की तरह लगती हैं।
तथा नाम सुदीर्घा सा यथा तस्याः शिरःखुरम् | मया दृष्टं प्रयत्नेन चिरोर्ध्वाधोगमागमैः || १३ ||
tathā nāma sudīrghā sā yathā tasyāḥ śiraḥkhuram | mayā dṛṣṭaṃ prayatnena cirordhvādhogamāgamaiḥ || 13 ||
Thus, she is named 'very tall,' as I have seen with effort her head moving up and down repeatedly.
इस प्रकार, उसका नाम 'बहुत लंबी' है, जैसा कि मैंने प्रयास से देखा है कि उसका सिर बार-बार ऊपर-नीचे हिलता है।

Her intestines are entangled like strings, her head and hands are raised like thorns, and she is bound from the root with threads like a thorny field.
उसकी आंतें डोरियों की तरह उलझी हुई हैं, उसका सिर और हाथ कांटों की तरह ऊपर उठे हुए हैं, और वह जड़ से डोरियों से बंधी हुई है जैसे कांटों वाला मैदान।
विश्वरूपमयार्कादिशिरःकमलजालकैः | कृतमालामलालोकवातवह्निमयाञ्चला || १५ ||
viśvarūpamayārkādiśiraḥkamalajālakaiḥ | kṛtamālāmalālokavātavahnimayāñcalā || 15 ||
She is adorned with garlands of lotus flowers that resemble the sun and other celestial bodies, and her veil is made of wind and fire, pure and radiant.
वह सूर्य और अन्य दिव्य पिंडों के समान कमल के फूलों की मालाओं से सुशोभित है, और उसकी ओढ़नी हवा और आग से बनी है, पवित्र और चमकदार।
प्रलम्बकर्णालुलितनागा नृशवकुण्डला | शुष्कतुम्बीलताष्ठीलादीर्घालोलासितस्तनी || १६ ||
pralambakarṇālulitanāgā nṛśavakuṇḍalā | śuṣkatumbīlatāṣṭhīlādīrghālolāsitastanī || 16 ||
The woman with long, dangling earrings and a dry, slender waist, her breasts swaying and blue-black.
लम्बे झुमके और सूखी, पतली कमर वाली स्त्री, जिसके स्तन लहरा रहे हैं और नीले-काले हैं।
कुमारबर्हिपिच्छौघैर्ब्राह्ममूर्धजमण्डलैः | लाञ्छितोच्चसुराधीशशिरःखट्वाङ्गमण्डला || १७ ||
kumārabarhipicchaughairbrāhmamūrdhajamaṇḍalaiḥ | lāñchitoccchasurādhīśaśiraḥkhaṭvāṅgamaṇḍalā || 17 ||
Adorned with the feathers of young peacocks and the sacred threads of Brahmins, the high lord of the gods has a halo around his head.
कुमार मोरों के पंखों और ब्राह्मणों के पवित्र धागों से सज्जित, देवताओं के उच्च स्वामी के सिर पर एक प्रभामंडल है।
दन्तेन्दुमालाविमला विमलोद्दयोतपाततः | तमोर्णवोर्द्ध्वलेखेव वृत्तावर्तविवर्तिनी || १८ ||
dantendumālāvimalā vimaloddayotapātataḥ | tamorṇavorddhvalekheva vṛttāvartavivartinī || 18 ||
With a pure garland of moon-like teeth, shining brightly, she appears like a line of darkness above the waves, moving in circles.
चांद-जैसे दांतों की पवित्र माला से सज्जित, चमकदार, वह लहरों के ऊपर एक अंधेरी रेखा की तरह दिखाई देती है, गोलाकार में घूमती हुई।
शुष्कतुम्बीलतेवोच्चैराकाशतरुसंस्थिता | विलोलावयवाष्ठीला वातैः पटपटारवा || १९ ||
śuṣkatumbīlatevoccairākāśatarusaṃsthitā | vilolāvayavāṣṭhīlā vātaiḥ paṭapaṭāravā || 19 ||
Standing tall like a dry palm tree in the sky, with swaying limbs, making a rustling sound with the wind.
आकाश में सूखे ताड़ के वृक्ष की तरह ऊंची खड़ी, लहराते अंगों के साथ, हवा से सरसराहट की आवाज करती हुई।
बृहत्तरङ्गोर्ध्वभुजा श्यामलोल्लासशालिनी | एकार्णवोर्मिमालेव नृत्तावृत्तिविवर्तिनी || २० ||
bṛhattaraṅgordhvabhujā śyāmollāsaśālinī | ekārṇavorvimimāleva nṛttāvṛttivivartinī || 20 ||
With large waves rising like arms, adorned with dark splendor, she appears like a garland of ocean waves, dancing in circular motion.
ऊंची लहरों के समान भुजाओं के साथ, श्याम उल्लास से सज्जित, वह समुद्र की लहरों की माला की तरह दिखाई देती है, गोलाकार में नृत्य करती हुई।
क्षणमेकभुजाकारा क्षणं बहुभुजाकुला | अनन्तोग्रभुजाक्षिप्तजगन्नर्तनमण्डपा || २१ ||
kṣaṇamekabhujākārā kṣaṇaṃ bahubhujākulā | anantograbhujākṣiptajagannartanamaṇḍapā || 21 ||
At one moment, she has one arm, at another moment, she has many arms | She is the one who has countless arms and dances in the universe.
एक क्षण में वह एक भुजा वाली है, दूसरे क्षण में वह बहुत सी भुजाओं वाली है | वह अनंत भुजाओं वाली है और ब्रह्मांड में नृत्य करती है।
क्षिप्रमेकमुखाकारा क्षिप्रं बहुमुखाकृतिः | अनन्तोग्रमुखी क्षिप्रं निर्मुखी चापि च क्षणम् || २२ ||
kṣipramekamukhākārā kṣipraṃ bahumukhākṛtiḥ | anantogramukhī kṣipraṃ nirmukhī cāpi ca kṣaṇam || 22 ||
At one moment, she has one face, at another moment, she has many faces | She is the one who has countless faces and is faceless at times.
एक क्षण में वह एक मुख वाली है, दूसरे क्षण में वह बहुत से मुखों वाली है | वह अनंत मुखों वाली है और कभी-कभी मुखरहित भी होती है।
एकपादान्विता क्षिप्रं क्षिप्रं पादशतान्विता | क्षणं चानन्तपादाढ्या निष्पादाकारिणी क्षणम् || २३ ||
ekapādānvitā kṣipraṃ kṣipraṃ pādaśatānvitā | kṣaṇaṃ cānantapādāḍhyā niṣpādākāriṇī kṣaṇam || 23 ||
At one moment, she has one foot, at another moment, she has many feet | She is the one who has countless feet and is footless at times.
एक क्षण में वह एक पाद वाली है, दूसरे क्षण में वह बहुत से पादों वाली है | वह अनंत पादों वाली है और कभी-कभी पादरहित भी होती है।
कालरात्रिरियं सेति मयानुमितदेहिका | काली भगवती सेयमितिनिर्णीतसज्जना || २४ ||
kālarātririyam seti mayānumitadehikā | kālī bhagavatī seyamitinirṇītasajjanā || 24 ||
This is Kali, the night of time, as I have inferred | She is the goddess Kali, as determined by the wise.
यह कालरात्रि है, समय की रात, जैसा मैंने अनुमान लगाया है | यह भगवती काली है, जैसा बुद्धिमान लोगों ने निर्णय किया है।

jvālāpūrṇāraghaṭṭograkhātābhanayanatrayā | jvaladdharendranīlādrisānūpamalalāṭabhūḥ || 25 ||
With eyes like the blazing sun, moon, and fire, and a forehead like the peak of Mount Meru | She has three eyes that are like the blazing sun, moon, and fire, and her forehead is like the peak of Mount Meru.
जिसकी आँखें सूर्य, चंद्रमा और अग्नि के समान प्रज्वलित हैं, और माथा मेरु पर्वत की चोटी के समान है | उसकी तीन आँखें सूर्य, चंद्रमा और अग्नि के समान प्रज्वलित हैं, और उसका माथा मेरु पर्वत की चोटी के समान है।

The central point of Lokāloka, adorned with dark blue sapphires, fierce with the two jaws of the cave, with the qualities of the wind, decorated with stars and pearls.
लोकालोक का केन्द्र, नीलमणियों से अलंकृत, गुफा के दोनों जबड़ों से भयानक, वायु के गुणों से युक्त, तारों और मोतियों से सजा हुआ।
इन्द्रनीलाद्रितुल्योच्चतोरणोच्चैःप्रभाम्बरे | विश्रान्तकाचशैलाभभगभीषणवायसी || २७ ||
indranīlādritulyoccatoraṇoccaiḥprabhāmbare | viśrāntakācaśailābhbhagabhīṣaṇavāyasī || 27 ||
In the sky, which is like the lofty arch of the Indranīla mountain, with its brilliant light, the resting place of the glass-like mountain, with a terrifying appearance.
आकाश में, जो इन्द्रनील पर्वत की ऊँची छतरी के समान है, उसके उज्ज्वल प्रकाश के साथ, काँच के समान पर्वत का विश्राम स्थान, भयानक दिखने वाला।
नृत्यद्भुजलतापुष्पैर्नखशुभ्राभ्रमण्डलैः | पूर्णचन्द्रशतानीव भ्रमन्ती नभस्तले || २८ ||

In the sky, revolving like hundreds of full moons, with the flowers of the dancing arm-vines, with the white nail-cloud circles.
आकाश में, सौ पूर्ण चन्द्रमाओं की तरह घूमते हुए, नृत्य करती बाहों की लताओं के फूलों के साथ, सफेद नाखून-बादल मंडलों के साथ।
भ्रमद्भिर्व्याप्तदिक्चक्रा भुजैः कल्पाम्बुदैरिव | वर्षद्भिः प्राणिजप्रान्ततारालेखाबृहत्प्रभाः || २९ ||
bhramadbhirvyāptadikcakrā bhujaiḥ kalpāmbudairiva | varṣadbhiḥ prāṇijaprāntatārālekhābṛhatprabhāḥ || 29 ||
With the revolving arms spreading in all directions like the clouds of the Kalpa, raining with the great light of the star-lines reaching the ends of the living beings.
घूमती बाहें सभी दिशाओं में फैली हुईं, कल्प के बादलों की तरह, जीवों के अंत तक पहुँचने वाली तारा रेखाओं के महान प्रकाश के साथ बरसाती हुईं।
नखपुष्पाङ्गुलीवल्लीजालैर्भ्रान्तभुजद्रुमैः | कृष्णैः काननिताशेषगगनाग्रोग्रमूर्तिभिः || ३० ||
nakhapuṣpāṅgulīvallījālairbhrāntabhujadrumaiḥ | kṛṣṇaiḥ kānanitāśeṣagaganāgrōgramūrtibhiḥ || 30 ||
With the confused arm-trees with the nets of nail-flowers and finger-vines, with the dark forms filling the entire sky.
नाखून-फूलों और उँगली-लताओं के जालों से भ्रमित बाह-वृक्षों के साथ, पूरे आकाश को भरने वाले काले रूपों के साथ।
तमालतालतः स्थूलां भुवं दग्धमहावनैः | विडम्बयन्ती वलितां जङ्घासङ्घेन लोलता || ३१ ||
tamālatālataḥ sthūlāṃ bhuvaṃ dagdhamahāvanaiḥ | viḍambayantī valitāṃ jaṅghāsaṅghena lolatā || 31 ||
The earth, which is vast and burnt by great forests, is mocking with its swaying thighs.
विशाल और महान वनों द्वारा जलाई हुई पृथ्वी अपनी लहराती जांघों से विडंबना कर रही है।
अप्यनन्ते महाव्योम्नि पारं प्राप्तैः शिरोरुहैः | कुर्वाणेवाततं वासं चरत्तिमिरदन्तिनः || ३२ ||
apyanante mahāvyomni pāraṃ prāptaiḥ śiroruhaiḥ | kurvāṇevātataṃ vāsaṃ carattimiradantinaḥ || 32 ||
Even in the infinite vast sky, those who have reached the other side with their heads are making their abode, moving like dark clouds.
अनंत महान आकाश में भी, जिनके सिर दूसरी ओर पहुंचे हैं, वे अपना निवास बना रहे हैं, घने बादलों की तरह चल रहे हैं।

Those who are lifted by the breath of the wind, which makes a deep humming sound in the sky, like the sound of a village.

Singing the song of the deep roar of the wind, she moves with a steady rhythm, as if persuaded.

Then, due to the influence of the dance, the body grows, and I saw it with great attention, filling the sky.

She had a garland of clouds resembling the end of an era, a silk sash, and three mirrors on her body representing the three worlds.

In her ears, she wore the Himalayas and Meru as earrings made of silver and gold. Around her waist, she had a great girdle adorned with the sound of the universe.

She had garlands of mountain peaks, forests, cities, and clusters of trees. She was adorned with old forests, islands, villages, and tender leaves.

तस्या अङ्गेषु दृष्टानि पुराणि नगराणि च | ऋतवश्च त्रयो लोका मासाहोरात्रमालिकाः || ४० ||
tasyā aṅgeṣu dṛṣṭāni purāṇi nagarāṇi ca | ṛtavaśca trayo lokā māsāhorātramālikāḥ || 40 ||
In her body, ancient cities, seasons, and the three worlds were visible. She was adorned with garlands of months, days, and nights.
उसके शरीर में पुराने नगर, ऋतुएँ और तीनों लोक दिखाई देते थे। उसके शरीर पर महीनों, दिनों और रातों की मालाएँ सुशोभित थीं।
मुक्तालतादिकं नद्यः कालिन्दीत्त्रिपथादिकाः | धर्माधर्मावुभौ कर्णभूषणे चान्यकर्णयोः || ४१ ||
muktālatādikaṃ nadyaḥ kālindīttripadhādikāḥ | dharmādharmāvubhau karṇabhūṣaṇe cānyakarṇayoḥ || 41 ||
The rivers such as Muktālatā and others, Kālindī and Tripadhā, etc., are the ear ornaments of both Dharma and Adharma on the other ears.
मुक्तालता आदि नदियाँ, कालिन्दी और त्रिपथा आदि, धर्म और अधर्म दोनों के कानों में कर्णभूषण हैं और अन्य कानों में भी।
स्तनास्तस्यास्तु चत्वारः स्रवद्घर्मपयोलवाः | वेदाः सकलशास्त्रार्थचतुःसंस्थानचूचुकाः || ४२ ||
stanāstasyāstu catvāraḥ sravadgharmapayolavāḥ | vedāḥ sakalaśāstrārthacatuḥsaṃsthānacūcukāḥ || 42 ||
Her four breasts are flowing with the essence of Dharma, and the Vedas are the nipples containing the essence of all scriptures in four divisions.
उसके चार स्तन धर्म के सार से प्रवाहित हैं, और वेद चार विभागों में समस्त शास्त्रों के सार को धारण करने वाले स्तनों के चूचुक हैं।
त्रिशूलैः पट्टिशैः प्रासैः शरशक्त्यृष्टिमुद्गरैः | निर्यदायुधजालानि स्रग्दामानि बिभर्ति सा || ४३ ||
triśūlaiḥ paṭṭiśaiḥ prāsaiḥ śaraśaktyṛṣṭimudgaraiḥ | niryadāyudhajālāni sragdāmāni bibharti sā || 43 ||
She bears a network of weapons such as tridents, swords, axes, arrows, spears, javelins, and maces, along with garlands and strings of beads.
वह त्रिशूल, तलवार, कुल्हाड़ी, तीर, भाले, भाला और गदा जैसे हथियारों का जाल और मालाएँ तथा मोतियों की लड़ियाँ धारण करती है।
चतुर्दशविधा भूतजातयो याः सुरादिकाः | तस्याः शरीरशालिन्यास्ता लोमावलयः स्थिताः || ४४ ||
caturdaśavidhā bhūtajātayo yāḥ surādikāḥ | tasyāḥ śarīraśālinyāstā lomāvalayaḥ sthitāḥ || 44 ||
The fourteen types of beings, including the gods and others, are situated as the hairs on her body.
चौदह प्रकार के प्राणी, जिनमें देवता और अन्य शामिल हैं, उसके शरीर के बालों के रूप में स्थित हैं।
तस्याश्च नगरग्रामगिरयो देहशायिनः | नृत्यन्त्या सह नृत्यन्ति पुनर्जन्म मुदेव ते || ४५ ||
tasyāśca nagaragrāmagirayo dehaśāyinaḥ | nṛtyantyā saha nṛtyanti punarjanma mudeva te || 45 ||
The cities, villages, and mountains that reside in her body dance with her as she dances, rejoicing in rebirth.
उसके शरीर में रहने वाले नगर, ग्राम और पर्वत उसके साथ नृत्य करते हैं, पुनर्जन्म की खुशी में नाचते हैं।
जङ्गमात्मैकमेवैतज्जगदस्थावरं तदानृत्यतीति मया ज्ञातं परलोके सुखं स्थितम् || ४६ ||
jaṅgamātmaikamevaitajjagadasthāvaraṃ tadānṛtyatīti mayā jñātaṃ paraloke sukhaṃ sthitam || 46 ||
The moving soul is the only one in the world that is immovable. It dances, and I know that it is happy in the other world.
चल आत्मा ही एकमात्र है जो जगत् में अचल है। वह नृत्य करता है, और मैं जानता हूँ कि वह परलोक में सुखी है।
निगीर्णं जगदङ्गस्थं कृत्वा तृप्तिमुपागतापरिनृत्यति सा मत्ता जगज्जीर्णाहि चातकी || ४७ ||
nigīrṇaṃ jagadaṅgasthaṃ kṛtvā tṛptimupāgatāparinṛtyati sā mattā jagajjīrṇāhi cātakī || 47 ||
Having swallowed the world and its parts, she attains satisfaction and dances madly, like a cuckoo that has eaten the world.
जगत् और उसके अंगों को निगल कर, वह संतुष्टि प्राप्त करती है और पागलों की तरह नृत्य करती है, जैसे कि जगत् को खा चुकी कोयल।
आदर्शप्रतिबिम्बस्थमिवाभात्यखिलं जगत्तस्या वपुषि विस्तीर्णे स्वरूपिणि सरूपधृक् || ४८ ||
ādarśapratibimbasthamivābhātyakhilaṃ jagattasyā vapuṣi vistīrṇe svarūpiṇi sarūpadhṛk || 48 ||
The entire world appears as a reflection in a mirror, in her expanded form, which is true to her nature and form.
पूरा जगत् एक दर्पण में प्रतिबिम्बित होता है, उसके विस्तृत रूप में, जो उसके स्वभाव और रूप के अनुकूल है।
सा न नृत्यति तत्सर्वं सशैलवनकाननम्जगन्नृत्यति नानात्म मृत्वा पुनरुपागतम् || ४९ ||
sā na nṛtyati tatsarvaṃ saśailavanakānanamjagannṛtyati nānātma mṛtvā punarupāgatam || 49 ||
She does not dance, but the entire world, including mountains, forests, and groves, dances. The world dances with various souls, having died and returned again.
वह नृत्य नहीं करती, लेकिन पूरा जगत्, जिसमें पहाड़, वन और उपवन शामिल हैं, नृत्य करता है। जगत् विभिन्न आत्माओं के साथ नृत्य करता है, मरकर फिर से लौट आया है।
तज्जगन्नर्तन चारु तद्देहादर्शसंस्थितम्चिरं मया तदा दृष्टमविनष्टं पुनः स्थितम् || ५० ||
tajjagannartana cāru taddehādarśasaṃsthitamciraṃ mayā tadā dṛṣṭamavinaṣṭaṃ punaḥ sthitam || 50 ||
That beautiful dance of the world, situated in the mirror of her body, was seen by me for a long time, undestroyed and situated again.
जगत् का वह सुंदर नृत्य, जो उसके शरीर के दर्पण में स्थित है, मैंने उसे लंबे समय तक देखा, अविनाशी और फिर से स्थित।
विचलत्तारकाजालं भ्रमत्पर्वतमण्डलम् | मशकव्यूहवद्वातव्याधूतामरदानवम् || ५१ ||
vicalattārakājālaṃ bhramatparvatamaṇḍalam | maśakavyūhavadvātavyādhūtāmaradānavam || 51 ||
The trembling network of stars and the whirling mountain ranges, like the formation of mosquitoes, are shaken by the wind, disturbing the gods and demons.
विचलित तारकाओं का जाल और भ्रमण करते पर्वत मण्डल, जैसे मशकों का व्यूह, वायु से व्याधूत होकर देवताओं और दानवों को विचलित करते हैं।
संग्रामोन्मुक्तचक्राभद्वीपार्णववृताम्बरम् | हेलाविवलनावर्त प्रौढशैलधरातृणम् || ५२ ||
saṃgrāmonmuktacakrābhadvīpārṇavavṛtāmbaram | helāvivolanāvart prauḍśailadharātṛṇam || 52 ||
The sky, filled with islands and oceans, resembling a battlefield with released discs, is disturbed by the whirlwinds and the tall mountains bearing grass.
द्वीपों और समुद्रों से भरा आकाश, जो चक्रों के छूटने से युद्धक्षेत्र के समान लगता है, भंवरों और ऊँचे पर्वतों के घास से विचलित होता है।
नीलगेघांशुकावृत्तिवातघुंघुमिताम्बरम् | काष्ठास्थ्यादिस्फुटास्फोटपटत्पटपटारवम् || ५३ ||
nīlageghāṃśukāvṛttivātaghuṃghumitāmbaram | kāṣṭhāsthyādisphuṭāsphoṭapaṭatpaṭapaṭāravam || 53 ||
The sky, covered with dark clouds and strong winds, resounds with the crackling of wood and bones, and the sound of fluttering and clattering.
काले बादलों और तेज हवाओं से ढका आकाश, लकड़ी और हड्डियों के चटकने और फड़फड़ाने की आवाज से गूँजता है।
जगत्पदार्थैर्व्यामिश्रैरमिश्रैर्मुकुरैर्यथा | व्याप्तमाभोगिभाकारैरङ्गैरङ्गभ्रमैस्तथा || ५४ ||
jagatpadārthairvyāmiśrairamiśrairmukurairyathā | vyāptamābhogibhākārairangairaṅgabhramaitstathā || 54 ||
The world is filled with various mixed elements, like pearls, and is pervaded by various forms of enjoyment and colors.
विश्व विभिन्न मिश्रित पदार्थों से भरा है, जैसे मोती, और विभिन्न भोग और रंगों के रूप में व्याप्त है।
मेरुर्नृत्यति लोलोच्चकुलाचलबृहद्भुजः | भ्रमदभ्रपटोपेतनमत्तनुतूनूरुहः || ५५ ||
merurnṛtyati lolocchakulācalabṛhadbhujah | bhramadabhrapaṭopetanamattantūnūruhaḥ || 55 ||
Mount Meru dances with its lofty peaks and broad shoulders, adorned with whirling clouds, like a drunken elephant.
मेरु पर्वत अपने ऊँचे शिखरों और चौड़े कंधों के साथ नृत्य करता है, भंवरों से घिरा हुआ, जैसे मतवाला हाथी।
अत्यजन्तः समुद्राश्च मर्यादामुद्रणं द्रुमाः | भूमेर्नभस्तलं यान्ति नभसो यान्ति भूतलम् || ५६ ||
atyajantaḥ samudrāśca maryādāmudraṇaṃ drumāḥ | bhūmernabhastalaṃ yānti nabhaso yānti bhūtalam || 56 ||
The oceans transgress their boundaries, trees reach the sky, and the sky reaches the earth.
समुद्र अपनी सीमाओं को तोड़ते हैं, पेड़ आकाश तक पहुंचते हैं, और आकाश धरती तक पहुंचता है।
पुराणि घर्घरारावैर्दृश्यन्ते लुतितान्यधः | सगृहाट्टालवास्तव्यं न च किंचिल्लुठत्यधः || ५७ ||
purāṇi ghargharārāvairdṛśyante lutitānyadhaḥ | sagṛhāṭṭālavāstavyaṃ na ca kiñcilluṭhatyadhaḥ || 57 ||
Cities are seen collapsing with a loud rumble, but nothing remains intact, not even the houses and markets.
नगर गरजती आवाज के साथ ध्वस्त होते दिखाई देते हैं, लेकिन कुछ भी अक्षत नहीं रहता, न तो घर और न ही बाजार।
तस्यां भ्रमन्त्यां चतुरं चन्द्रार्कदिनरात्रयः | नखाग्रलेखालोकान्तर्भ्रान्तिकाञ्चनसूत्रवत् || ५८ ||
tasyāṃ bhramantyāṃ caturaṃ candrārkadinarātrayaḥ | nakhāgralekhālokāntarbhrāntikāñcanasūtravat || 58 ||
In that chaotic state, the days and nights of the sun and moon become confused, like a golden thread in the midst of a nail-tip-thin line.
उस अस्त-व्यस्त स्थिति में, सूर्य और चंद्रमा के दिन और रात उलझ जाते हैं, जैसे एक नाखून के अग्र जितनी पतली रेखा में सोने का धागा।
विभान्ति सृष्टयस्तस्या घर्माणि जलजालिकाः | इव नीहारहारिण्या नीलवारिदवाससः || ५९ ||
vibhānti sṛṣṭayastasyā gharmāṇi jalajālikāḥ | iva nīhārahāriṇyā nīlavāridavāsasaḥ || 59 ||
Her creations shine like water droplets, resembling the blue garments of the clouds that dispel the mist.
उसकी सृष्टियाँ जल की बूंदों की तरह चमकती हैं, जैसे कि बादलों के नीले वस्त्र जो कुहरा दूर करते हैं।
खमेव तस्याः संपन्नं कबरीमण्डलं बृहत् | पातालं चरणौ भूमिरुदरं बाहवो दिशः || ६० ||
kham eva tasyāḥ saṃpannaṃ kabarīmaṇḍalaṃ bṛhat | pātālaṃ caraṇau bhūmir udaraṃ bāhavo diśaḥ || 60 ||
The sky itself is her vast, complete circle. The underworld is her feet, the earth is her belly, and the directions are her arms.
आकाश स्वयं उसका विशाल, पूर्ण मंडल है। पाताल उसके पैर हैं, धरती उसका पेट है, और दिशाएँ उसकी बाहें हैं।
तदानुभूत्ं नृत्यन्त्यास्तस्या वपुषि विस्तृते | हिमवन्मेरुस्रह्याद्यैर्दोलनभ्रममद्रिभिः || ६२ ||
tadānubhūtaṃ nṛtyantyāstasyā vapuṣi vistṛte | himavanmerusrahyādyairdolanabhramamadribhiḥ || 62 ||
Then, experiencing the expanded form of her dancing, with the swaying and spinning of mountains like the Himalayas, Meru, and others.

dvīpābdhayo'ntravalayaḥ pārśvakāḥ sarvaparvatāḥ | prāṇāpānāvalīdolāḥ pavanasakndhaśālikāḥ || 63 ||
The islands and oceans are her internal organs, all mountains are her sides, the breaths are her swinging vines, and the winds are her shoulder blades.

Her body is made of the hairs of the armies of gods, demons, and serpents. She is unable to stand still and spins like a wheel.
उसका शरीर देवताओं, असुरों और सर्पों की सेनाओं के बालों से बना है। वह स्थिर नहीं रह सकती और चक्र की तरह घूमती है।
नानाविभवविज्ञानयज्ञयज्ञोपवीतिनी | सा सरन्ती नभस्यासीद्धनघूत्कारघोषिणी || ६५ ||
nānāvibhavavijñānayajñayajñopavītinī | sā sarantrī nabhasyāsīddhanaghūtkārghoṣiṇī || 65 ||
Adorned with various riches, knowledge, sacrifices, and sacred threads, she moves through the sky with the sound of jingling bells.
विभिन्न सम्पत्ति, ज्ञान, यज्ञ और पवित्र धागों से अलंकृत, वह आकाश में घंटियों की आवाज के साथ चलती है।
तत्र भूतलमाकाशमाकाशमपि भूतलम् | प्रतिकृतिं भवत्यन्तर्न च किंचिद्विवर्तते || ६६ ||
tatra bhūtalamākāśamākāśamapi bhūtalam | pratikṛtiṃ bhavatyantarnaca kiñcidvivartate || 66 ||
There, the earth becomes the sky, and the sky becomes the earth. Everything is reflected within, and nothing is separate.
वहाँ, पृथ्वी आकाश बन जाती है, और आकाश पृथ्वी बन जाता है। सब कुछ अंदर प्रतिबिंबित होता है, और कुछ भी अलग नहीं होता।
बृहन्नासागुहागेहनिर्गता घनघुंघुमाः | तत्रोग्रा वायवो वान्ति घोरघूत्कारकारिणः || ६७ ||
bṛhannāsāguhāgehanirgatā ghanaghuṃghumāḥ | tatrogra vāyavo vānti ghoraghūtkārakāriṇaḥ || 67 ||
From the large caverns of the mountains, dense clouds emerge | There, fierce winds blow, making terrifying sounds || 67 ||
बड़ी गुफाओं से घने बादल निकलते हैं | वहाँ भयानक हवाएँ चलती हैं, जो डरावनी आवाजें करती हैं || ६७ ||
नभःकरशतैस्तस्याश्चतुरावृत्तिवर्तिभिः | भाति चण्डानिलोद्धूतैराकीर्णमिव पल्लवैः || ६८ ||
nabhaḥkaraśataistasyāścaturāvṛttivartibhiḥ | bhāti caṇḍāniloddhūtairākīrṇamiva pallavaiḥ || 68 ||
The sky appears as if covered with countless stars, revolving four times, blown by fierce winds, and scattered like petals || 68 ||
आकाश ऐसा लगता है मानो अनगिनत तारे चार बार घूम रहे हों, भयानक हवाओं से उड़ाए जा रहे हों, और पत्तियों की तरह बिखरे हुए हों || ६८ ||
तदङ्गजजगद्वस्तुजातभ्रमणसंभवात् | दृष्टिर्धीरापि मे मोहे सन्ना सेनेव संगरे || ६९ ||
tadaṅgajajagadvastujātabhramaṇasaṃbhavāt | dṛṣṭirdhīrāpi me mohe sannā seneva saṅgare || 69 ||
Due to the spinning of the worldly objects created by the elephants, even my steadfast vision is confused, like an army in battle || 69 ||
हाथियों द्वारा बनाई गई दुनियावी वस्तुओं के घूमने के कारण, मेरी स्थिर दृष्टि भी भ्रमित हो गई है, जैसे युद्ध में सेना || ६९ ||
प्रोह्यन्ते यन्त्रवच्छैला निपतन्ति नभश्चराः | लुठन्त्यमरगेहानि वलिते देहदर्पणे || ७० ||
prohyante yantravaśśailā nipatanti nabhaścarāḥ | luṭhantyamaragehāni valite dehadarpaṇe || 70 ||
The mountains are thrown like machines, the celestial beings fall, the divine abodes are shattered, and the body's pride is twisted || 70 ||
पर्वत यंत्रों की तरह फेंके जाते हैं, देवता गिरते हैं, दिव्य निवास स्थान टूट जाते हैं, और शरीर का अहंकार मुड़ जाता है || ७० ||
मेरवः पर्णवद्व्यूढा मलयाः पल्लवा इव | हिमाद्रयो हिमकणा इवौर्व्योऽब्जलता इव || ७१ ||
meravaḥ parṇavadvyūḍhā malayāḥ pallavā iva | himādrayo himakaṇā ivaaurvyo’bjalatā iva || 71 ||
The Meru mountains appear as if covered with leaves, the Malaya mountains like buds, the Himalayas like snowflakes, and the entire earth like a lotus vine || 71 ||
मेरु पर्वत पत्तों से ढंके हुए लगते हैं, मलय पर्वत कलियों की तरह लगते हैं, हिमालय बर्फ के कणों की तरह लगते हैं, और पूरी पृथ्वी कमल की लता की तरह लगती है || ७१ ||
सह्या मह्यामिव खगा विन्ध्या विद्याधरा इव | वृक्षावर्ते भ्रमन्तोऽन्ता राजहंसा इवाम्बरे || ७२ ||
sahyā mahyāmiva khagā vindhyā vidyādharā iva | vṛkṣāvarte bhramanto'ntā rājahaṃsā ivāmbare || 72 ||
The Sahya mountains appear like birds in the sky, and the Vindhya mountains like the Vidyadharas. The trees seem to be circling around like royal swans in the sky.
सह्या पर्वत आकाश में पक्षी की तरह लगते हैं, और विन्ध्य पर्वत विद्याधरों की तरह। पेड़ आकाश में राजहंसों की तरह घूमते प्रतीत होते हैं।
द्वीपान्यपि तृणानीव समुदा वलया इव | सुरलोकालयः पद्मा आसंस्तद्देहवारिणि || ७३ ||
dvīpānyapi tṛṇānīva samudā valayā iva | suralokālayaḥ padmā āsaṃstaddhehavāriṇi || 73 ||
Even the islands appear like blades of grass, and the oceans like bracelets. The abodes of the gods appear like lotuses in the waters of her body.
द्वीप भी घास की पत्तियों की तरह लगते हैं, और समुद्र कंगनों की तरह। देवताओं के निवास स्थान उसके शरीर के जल में कमल की तरह प्रतीत होते हैं।
विशदाकाशसंकाशे स्वप्नाञ्जनपुरोपमे | अङ्गे तस्या बृहज्जङ्घे पिण्डादित्यसमत्विषि || ७४ ||
viśadākāśasaṃkāśe svapnāñjanapuropame | aṅge tasyā bṛhajjaṅghe piṇḍādityasamatviṣi || 74 ||
In her body, which is clear like the sky and resembles a city seen in a dream, her large thighs shine like the orb of the sun.
उसके शरीर में, जो आकाश की तरह साफ और स्वप्न में देखे गए शहर की तरह है, उसकी बड़ी जांघें सूर्य के मंडल की तरह चमकती हैं।
विन्ध्यो नृत्यति काञ्चनाचलवने सह्यश्च सह्यो गिरिः कैलासो मलयो महेन्द्रशिखरी क्रौञ्चाचलो मन्दरः | गोकर्णो गगनाङ्गणे वसुमती विद्याधराणां पुरं सर्वे जंगमतां गता वनभुवस्तस्याः शरीरे सदा || ७५ ||
vindhyo nṛtyati kāñcanācalavane sahyaśca sahyo giriḥ kailāso malayo mahendraśikharī krauñcācalo mandaraḥ | gokarṇo gaganaṅgaṇe vasumatī vidyādharāṇāṃ puraṃ sarve jaṅgamatāṃ gatā vanabhuvastasyāḥ śarīre sadā || 75 ||
The Vindhya mountain dances in the golden mountain forest, and the Sahya mountain also dances. Kailasa, Malaya, Mahendra peak, Krauncha mountain, and Mandara mountain are all present. Gokarna is in the sky, Vasumati is the city of the Vidyadharas, and all moving beings are always in her body.
विन्ध्य पर्वत सोने के पर्वत वन में नृत्य करता है, और सह्य पर्वत भी नृत्य करता है। कैलास, मलय, महेन्द्र शिखर, क्रौंच पर्वत, और मंदर पर्वत सभी उपस्थित हैं। गोकर्ण आकाश में है, वसुमती विद्याधरों का नगर है, और सभी चलने वाले प्राणी हमेशा उसके शरीर में हैं।
अब्धिर्नृत्यति पर्वते गिरिरपि प्रोच्चैर्नभःकोटरे व्योमापीन्दुदिवाकरैः क्व चलितं भूमेरधस्ताद्गतम् | सद्वीपाचलपत्तनो वनगणः प्रोत्कीर्णपुष्पो दिवि व्यालोलं जगदम्बुधाविव तृणं दिक्चक्रके भ्राम्यति || ७६ ||
abdhirnṛtyati parvate girirapi procchairnabhaḥkoṭare vyomāpīndudivākaraiḥ kva calitaṃ bhūmeradhastādgatam | sadvīpācalapattano vanagaṇaḥ protkīrṇapuṣpo divi vyālolaṃ jagadambudhāviva tṛṇaṃ dikcakrake bhrāmyati || 76 ||
The ocean dances on the mountain, and the mountain also rises high in the sky. The sky, along with the moon and the sun, has moved from beneath the earth. The islands, mountains, cities, and forests with scattered flowers are in the sky, swaying like the universe in the ocean, like a blade of grass in the wheel of directions.

In the sky, mountains and clouds wander. At the edge of the directions, other worlds and city circles move. The rivers and lakes sway like buds in the strong wind, scattering grass.

Fish move in the desert like excellent water. Cities stand still in the sky as if on earth. In the sky, the mountains, carried by the wind of destruction, appear to be on the mountain.
मछलियाँ रेगिस्तान में उत्तम जल के समान चलती हैं। शहर आकाश में पृथ्वी पर के समान स्थिर हैं। आकाश में, पर्वत, विनाश की हवा से उठाए गए, पर्वत पर दिखाई देते हैं।

ṛkṣotkaro bhramati dīpasahasrayantracakrakrameṇa maṇivarṣaṇavegacāruḥantarbahiśca paritaḥ praṇayena mukta vidyādharāmaragaṇairiva puṣpavarṣam || 79 ||
The constellation of stars moves with the mechanism of a thousand lamps, beautiful with the speed of a jewel shower. Inside and outside, all around, it is released with love by the Vidyadharas and gods, like a shower of flowers.

The collections of creation and destruction, in the parts of day and night, appear like drops of silver. Black and white, they shine all around, like pure black and white mirrors, rising beautifully.

The jewels, the orbs of the sun and moon, the garlands of stars, the lustrous necklaces, the clear skies, the vast firmaments, continuously create countless minute particles.

kalpāntakālaviluṭhattrijaganmaṇīni vyāvartanairjhagiti jātajhaṇajjhaṇānitejāṃsi jhaṃkṛtatayordhvamadhaśca yānti nānāvidhāni guṇavanti vibhūṣaṇāni || 82 ||
At the end of the cosmic cycle, the three worlds are shaken, and the ornaments, which are endowed with various qualities, move up and down, shining brilliantly.

The clamor of the battle-intoxicated warriors, the rays of their swords, the dark clouds, the heat of the sun, the movements of the stable and the unstable, all these are heard as the noise of the world.
युद्ध-मत्त योद्धाओं की आवाज, उनकी तलवारों की किरणें, काले बादल, सूर्य की गर्मी, स्थिर और अस्थिर की गतिविधियाँ, ये सभी संसार की आवाज के रूप में सुनी जाती हैं।

brahmendraviṣṇuharavahniravīndupūrvā devāsurāḥ parivivṛttibhirāpatantaḥanye'nya eva vividhā upayānti vātāvadhūtamaśakāśanivibhrameṇa || 84 ||
Brahma, Indra, Vishnu, Shiva, Agni, and the wind, along with the gods and demons, move in various ways, each distinct from the other, with the swiftness of the wind.

The states of destruction, creation, happiness, sorrow, existence, non-existence, prohibition, injunction, birth, death, illusion, and others always manifest together and separately in creation, even though they are mixed.
विनाश, सृष्टि, सुख, दुःख, अस्तित्व, अनस्तित्व, निषेध, विधि, जन्म, मृत्यु, भ्रम, और अन्य स्थितियाँ सृष्टि में सदा एक साथ और अलग-अलग प्रकट होती हैं, भले ही वे मिली-जुली हों।

bhāvodbhavasthitivipatkaraṇabhramāṇāṃ saṃhārasargabhuvanāvanivibhramāṇāmmithyaiva khe prakacatāṃ khaśarīrakāṇāṃ saṃlakṣyate'tra na manāgapi nāma saṃkhyā || 86 ||
The cycles of creation, existence, and dissolution, along with their illusory nature, are perceived in the sky. Even the celestial bodies, which seem to move, are seen here, but their number cannot be comprehended by the mind.

In that place, various emotions such as peace after calamity, death, celebration, war, equality, hatred, passion, fear, and trust appear like a treasure trove of gems, each with its unique essence and sequence.
उस स्थान पर, विभिन्न भावनाएँ जैसे कि उत्पात शान्ति, मरण, उत्सव, युद्ध, साम्य, विद्वेष, राग, भय और विश्वास एक रत्नों के खजाने की तरह प्रकट होती हैं, जिनमें से प्रत्येक का अपना अलग स्वाद और क्रम है।

tasyāścidambaramaye vapuṣi svabhāvabhūtāsphuṭānubhavabhāvajagadvyavasthāḥ sarvakṣayā malinadṛkkalitāmbarasthakeśoṇḍrakasphuraṇavatparitaḥ sphuranti || 88 ||

The power of action, constantly filling the body within, becomes a heap and then disperses like the scattered seeds of the world.

kṣaṇamālakṣyate kiṃcinna kiṃcidapi sā kṣaṇam | kṣaṇamaṅguṣṭhamātraiva kṣaṇamākāśapūriṇī || 92 ||
In one moment, she is perceived as something, in another moment, she is perceived as nothing. In one moment, she is as small as a thumb, in another moment, she fills the entire space.

With the sounds of 'ḍiṃbaṃ ḍibaṃ suḍiṃbaṃ paca paca,' suddenly dancing with the musical instruments, adorning the head with a garland of Tārkṣya feathers, holding in the hand the great horn of the buffalo filled with red liquor, may Bhairava, praised by Kālarātrī who has arisen for destruction, protect you.
