śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | athāvanipayastejaḥpavanānāṃ yugakṣaye | jāte paramasaṃkṣobhe babhūvāsmiñjagattrayam || 1 ||
Shri Vasishtha said: Then, at the end of the yuga, there was a great disturbance in the earth, water, fire, and air, and the three worlds were affected.
श्री वसिष्ठ ने कहा: फिर, युग के अंत में, पृथ्वी, जल, अग्नि और वायु में बड़ा उत्पात हुआ, और तीनों लोकों पर असर हुआ।

The crushing of the mountains by the waters causes the destruction of the cities of the guardians of the directions, and the falling of the cities of the gods, demons, Indra, siddhas, and gandharvas.
जल से पर्वतों को कुचलने से दिक्पालों के नगरों का विनाश होता है, और देवताओं, दैत्यों, इन्द्र, सिद्धों और गन्धर्वों के नगर गिर जाते हैं।

वायु द्वारा शांत अंगारों के समान पर्वतों के कुचलने से चीजों का सार धूल की तरह बेकार हो जाता है।

The ancient cities of the gods and demons, with their revolving walls, are destroyed, and the gems make a clinking sound like the waters of the water-bearing clouds.

The world became difficult to see with the remnants of gods crying, the moving living beings, and the spinning of hundreds of comets.

वर्षशाम्यद्हुताशोत्थभस्मामोदपतत्सुरम् | भूतपूर्वजगद्भूतं परिविस्मृतसर्गकम् || ३९ ||
varṣaśāmyadhutāśotthabhasmāmodapatatsuram | bhūtapūrvajagadbhūtaṃ parivismṛtasargakam || 39 ||

निरर्गलोल्लसन्नादं सर्गलोपशमक्रमम् | सर्गलोपोल्लसच्छेषं सर्गलोपविवर्जितम् || ४० ||
nirargalollasannādaṃ sargalopaśamakramam | sargalopollasaśceṣaṃ sargalopavivarjitam || 40 ||

अनारतविपर्यासकारिमारुतनिर्वृतम् | बीजराशिरिवाजस्रं पूर्यमाणं पुनःपुनः || ४१ ||
anārataviparyāsakārimārutanirvṛtam | bījarāśirivājasraṃ pūryamāṇaṃ punaḥpunaḥ || 41 ||

उल्मुकान्योन्यनिष्पेषवह्निचूर्णसुवर्णजैः | रजोभिर्विवृतैर्हेमकुट्टिमाकाशकोटरम् || ४२ ||
ulmukānyonyaniṣpeṣavahnicūrṇasuvarṇajaiḥ | rajobhirvivṛtairhemakuṭṭimākāśakoṭaram || 42 ||

एकार्णवोऽथ ववृधे शनै शीघ्रं सरिच्छतैः | भुवने जलकल्लोलैः कोपो मूर्खाशये यथा || ४५ ||
ekārṇavo'tha vavṛdhe śanai śīghraṃ saricchataiḥ | bhuvane jalakallolaiḥ kopo mūrkhāśaye yathā || 45 ||

फिर एक समुद्र धीरे-धीरे तेजी से सैकड़ों नदियों के साथ बढ़ने लगा। दुनिया में, पानी की लहरें मूर्ख मन में क्रोध की तरह उठने लगीं।
मुसलोपमया पूर्वं ततः स्तम्भनिभाङ्गया । ततस्तालद्रुमाकारधारयासारसारया || ४६ ||
musalopamayā pūrvaṃ tataḥ stambhanibhāṅgayā | tatastāladrumākāradhārayāsārasārayā || 46 ||

vahnirvidāhakṛdṛṣṭyā śamamabhyāyayau tathā | śāstrasajjanasaṅgatyā gāḍhamāpatpadaṃ yathā || 48 ||

ūrdhvādhara sthaparivṛttapadārthajātamantaḥkaṇaiḥ khaṇakhaṇāyitaśailamajjam | brahmāṇḍakoṭaramabhūdvidhuraṃ kubālalīlāvilolamivabilvaphalaṃ viśuddham || 49 ||
