The Brahman of another world said, 'I, who am the space of consciousness, desire to grasp the supreme state of another space. Therefore, destruction is imminent here.'

mahāpralayakāle'smiṃstyaktumēṣā mayādhunā munīndra nūnamārabdhā tena vairasyamāgatā || 2 ||

English

In this great dissolution, I now abandon this. O great sage, indeed, enmity has arisen due to this.

ākāśatvādyadādyo'yaṃ parākāśo bhavāmyaham tadā mahāpralayatā vāsanāyāśca saṃkṣayaḥ || 3 ||

English

When I become the primordial space, then there is the great dissolution and the destruction of desires.

tenaiṣā virasībhūtā manmārgaṃ paridhāvati nānugacchati ko nāma nirmātāramudāradhīḥ || 4 ||

English

Therefore, she becomes devoid of taste and runs around my path. Who with a noble mind does not follow the creator?

ihādyāyaṃ kaleraṃtaścatur yugaviparyayaḥ prajāmanvindradevānāmadyaivānto'yamāgataḥ || 5 ||

English

Here, at the end of the Kali Yuga, there is a reversal of the four Yugas. Today, the end of the subjects and gods like Indra has come.

adyaiva cāyaṃ kalpānto mahākalpānta eva ca | mamāyaṃ vāsanānto'dya dehavyomānta eva ca || 6 ||

English

Today itself is the end of the eon, the great end of the eon, and today is the end of my desires, the end of the bodily sphere.

teneyaṃ vāsanā brahman kṣayaṃ gantuṃ samudyatā | kveva padmākarāśoṣe gandhalekhāvatiṣṭhatām || 7 ||

English

Therefore, this desire, O Brahman, is ready to go to destruction. Just as the scent of a lotus pond remains even after it dries up.

yathā jaḍābdhilekhāyā jāyate laharī calā | vāsanāyāstathaivecchā mudhodetyapakāraṇam || 8 ||

English

Just as a wave arises from the motionless ocean, so does desire arise from the mind without any cause.

ābhimānikadehāyā vāsanāyāḥ svabhāvataḥ | asyā ātmāvalokecchā svayamevopajāyate || 9 ||

English

From the egoistic body, desire naturally arises. The desire to see the self arises spontaneously.

ātmatattvaṃ nu paśyantyā dhāraṇābhyāsayogataḥ | dṛṣṭo'nayā bhavatsargo vargavyagranirargalaḥ || 10 ||

English

By the practice of concentration, the nature of the self is seen. Through this vision, the creation of the world is seen as varied and restless.

anayāmbarasaṃcāraparayādriśiraḥśilā | dṛṣṭā svajagadādhārabhūtāsmākaṃ tu khātmikā || 11 ||

English

We have seen the rock at the top of the mountain, which is the foundation of our world, but it is essentially empty.

etadyasmiñjagadyatra taddṛṣattvaṃ jagadgirau | asmajjagatpadārtheṣu saṃtyanyāni jagantyapi || 12 ||

English

In this world, where everything is seen, there are other worlds within our world's objects. These are also perceived as worlds.

vayaṃ tāni na paśyāmo bhedadṛṣṭau sthitā ime | bodhaikatāṃ gatāstvāśu paśyāmastāni vīkṣaṇāt || 13 ||

English

We do not see those other worlds because we are stuck in the perception of differences. However, we quickly perceive them when we achieve the unity of consciousness.

ghaṭe paṭe vaṭe kuḍye khe'nalembhasi tejasi | jaganti santi sarvatra śilāyāmiva sarvadā || 14 ||

English

Worlds exist in everything—in pots, clothes, banyan trees, walls, sky, fire, water, and light, just like they exist in a rock at all times.

jagannāma mudhā bhrāntiḥ kila svapnapuropamā | mithyaiveyaṃ kva nāmāsau cidrūpāstyatha nāsti ca || 15 ||

English

The name 'world' is indeed a delusion, similar to a dream. It is false; where is this name? Does it exist in the form of consciousness or not at all?

English

Those who have realized this pure consciousness do not get deluded; others remain in confusion.

athānyadhāraṇābhyāsātsvavirāgavaśoditam | sādhayantyā'rthamātmīyaṃ dṛṣṭastvamanayā mune || 17 ||

English

Through the practice of different meditations and by the power of detachment, one realizes the true self, O sage.

iti māyeva duṣpārā cicchaktiḥ parijṛmbhate | itthamādyantarahitā brāhmī śaktiranāmayā || 18 ||

English

Thus, the divine power of consciousness, which is difficult to cross, manifests itself. This Brahmic power is without beginning or end, and is flawless.

pravartante nivartante neha kāryāṇi kānicit | dravyakālakriyādyotā citistapati kevalam || 19 ||

English

Actions arise and cease here, but the consciousness, which illuminates substance, time, and action, merely shines.

deśakālakriyādravyamanobuddhyādikaṃ tvidam | cicchilāṅgakamevaikaṃ viddhyanastamayodayam || 20 ||

English

Know that space, time, action, substance, mind, and intellect are all one with the power of consciousness, without rise or fall.

cideveyaṃ śilākāramavatiṣṭhati bibhratī | aṅgamasyā jagajjālaṃ marutaḥ spandanaṃ yathā || 21 ||

English

This consciousness itself appears as a stone, holding the universe as its limb, just as the wind causes movement.

vijñānaghanamātmānaṃ jagadityavabudhyate | anādyantāpi sādyantā cittvāditi gatāpi cit || 22 ||

English

The self, which is a mass of consciousness, is realized as the universe. Although it is without beginning or end, it is considered to have a beginning and an end, and although it is consciousness, it is perceived as non-conscious.

cicchileyamanādyantā sādyantāstīti bodhataḥ | sākārāpi nirākārā jagadaṅgeti saṃsthitā || 23 ||

English

This consciousness, which is without beginning or end, is understood to have a beginning and an end. Although it has form, it is formless, and it is established as the limb of the universe.

yadvatsvapne cideva svaṃ rūpaṃ vyomaiva pattanam | vetti tadvadidaṃ vetti pāṣāṇaṃ jagadaṅgakam || 24 ||

English

Just as in a dream, consciousness itself perceives its own form as the sky and the city, so too it perceives this stone as the limb of the universe.

na sarantīha sarito na cakraṃ parivartate | nārthāḥ pariṇamantyantaḥ kacatyetaccidambaram || 25 ||

English

Here, rivers do not flow, nor does the wheel turn. Objects do not change within. This is the garment of consciousness.

na mahākalpakalpāntasaṃvidaḥ saṃvidambare | saṃbhavanti pṛthagrūpāḥ payasīva payonantaram || 26 ||

English

In the realm of consciousness, the perceptions of great aeons and their ends do not arise distinctly, like milk in milk.

jaganti santyeva na santi śānte cidambare sarvagataikamūrtau | nabhontarāṇīva mahānabhontaścitsanti sattāni parāmbarāṇi || 27 ||

English

The worlds exist but do not exist in the peaceful expanse of consciousness, which is all-pervading and one. Like the spaces within the great sky, the existences are the supreme garments of consciousness.

vasiṣṭha tadgaccha mune jagatsvaṃ tvaṃ cāsane saṃprati śāntimehi | buddhyādirūpāṇi paraṃ vrajantu vayaṃ bṛhadbrahmapadaṃ prayāmaḥ || 28 ||

English

O sage, go forth to your own world, and now sit in peace. Let the forms of intellect and others attain the supreme. We shall proceed to the great state of Brahman.
