athetyuktavatī pṛṣṭā sā mayā kalpitāsanāsaṃkalpitāsanasthena sthitena nabhasi sthitā || 1 ||
Then, having been addressed and questioned by me, she, having assumed a posture, remained motionless in the sky.
तब, मेरे द्वारा संबोधित और प्रश्न किए जाने के बाद, वह एक आसन ग्रहण करके आकाश में निश्चल बैठी रही।
कथं शिलोदरे बाले त्वद्विधानां भवेत्स्थितिःकथं संचलनं तत्र किमर्थं तत्र चास्पदम् || २ ||
kathaṃ śilodare bāle tvadvidhānāṃ bhavetsthitiḥkathaṃ saṃcalanaṃ tatra kimarthaṃ tatra cāspadam || 2 ||
How can there be stability for those like you, O child, in the hollow of a stone? How can there be movement there? What is the purpose of a place there?
हे बालक, पत्थर के खोखले में तुम्हारे जैसे लोगों के लिए स्थिरता कैसे हो सकती है? वहाँ गति कैसे हो सकती है? वहाँ किस उद्देश्य से स्थान है?
विद्याधर्युवाचमुने यथेदं भवतां जगत्स्फारं विराजतेतथास्माकं जगत्तत्र सर्गसंसारयुक् स्थितम् || ३ ||
vidyādharyuvācamune yathedaṃ bhavatāṃ jagatsphāraṃ virājatetathāsmākaṃ jagattatra sargasaṃsārayuk sthitam || 3 ||
O Sage, just as this world of yours appears magnificent, so does our world exist there, endowed with creation and dissolution.
हे मुनि, जैसे यह आपका विश्व शोभायमान है, वैसे ही हमारा विश्व वहाँ सृष्टि और प्रलय से युक्त स्थित है।
स्फुरन्ति नागाः पाताले तिष्ठन्ति भुवि पर्वताःआपश्चलचलायन्ते वहन्ति व्योम्नि वायवः || ४ ||
sphuranti nāgāḥ pātāle tiṣṭhanti bhuvi parvatāḥāpaśchalachalāyante vahanti vyomni vāyavaḥ || 4 ||
Serpents move in the underworld, mountains stand on the earth, waters flow and move, and winds carry in the sky.
सर्प पाताल में चलते हैं, पर्वत पृथ्वी पर खड़े हैं, जल बहता है और चलता है, और वायु आकाश में बहती है।
अर्णवा अर्णसा भान्ति यान्त्यन्तः शनकैः प्रजाःभूतान्यजस्रं जायन्ते म्रियन्तेऽविरतं यथा || ५ ||
arṇavā arṇasā bhānti yāntyantaḥ śanakaiḥ prajāḥbhūtānyajasraṃ jāyante mriyante'virataṃ yathā || 5 ||
Oceans shine with waves, beings move slowly within, creatures are born and die continuously without ceasing.
समुद्र लहरों से चमकते हैं, प्राणी धीरे-धीरे अंदर चलते हैं, प्राणी निरंतर जन्म लेते हैं और मरते हैं।
वान्ति वाता वहन्त्यापो भान्ति चाभान्ति खे सुराःतिष्ठन्त्यगाः समुद्यन्ति ग्रहा यान्ति महीं नृपाः || ६ ||
vānti vātā vahantyāpo bhānti cābhānti khe surāḥtiṣṭhantyagāḥ samudyanti grahā yānti mahīṃ nṛpāḥ || 6 ||
The winds blow, the waters flow, the celestial beings shine and do not shine in the sky, the mountains stand, the planets rise, and the kings rule the earth.
हवाएँ चलती हैं, पानी बहता है, देवता चमकते हैं और आकाश में नहीं चमकते, पहाड़ खड़े होते हैं, ग्रह उदित होते हैं, और राजा पृथ्वी पर शासन करते हैं।
देवासुरमनुष्याणां व्यवहारपरम्पराःलोलाः प्रवृत्ता आकल्पमासमुद्रमिवापगाः ओ || ७ ||
devāsuramanuṣyāṇāṃ vyavahāraparamparāḥlolāḥ pravṛttā ākalpamāsamudramivāpagāḥ o || 7 ||
The traditions of gods, demons, and humans are unstable and continue like rivers flowing into the ocean.
देवताओं, असुरों और मनुष्यों की परंपराएँ अस्थिर हैं और समुद्र में बहने वाली नदियों की तरह चलती रहती हैं।
दिनपद्मानि भूलोकसरस्याकल्पमानभःलोलाभ्रालीनि फुल्लानि मीलितोन्मीलितान्यलम् || ८ ||
dinapadmāni bhūlokasarasyākalpamānabhaḥlolābhrālīni phullāni mīlitonmīlitānyalam || 8 ||
The lotuses of the earthly lake bloom and close continuously, like the unstable clouds in the sky.
पृथ्वी के तालाब के कमल लगातार खिलते और मुरझाते हैं, जैसे आकाश में अस्थिर बादल।
चन्द्रचर्चाश्चतुर्दिक्कं चन्दनेनात्मतेजसारचयन्रात्रिरोहिण्योस्तमो हन्त्यपि हृद्गतम् || ९ ||
candracarcāścaturdikkaṃ candanenātmatejasāracayanrātrirohiṇyostamo hantyapi hṛdgatam || 9 ||
The moonbeams spread in all four directions, adorning the night with their own radiance, and even the darkness of the night of Rohini cannot destroy what is in the heart.
चंद्रमा की किरणें चारों दिशाओं में फैलती हैं, अपनी चमक से रात को सजाती हैं, और रोहिणी की रात का अंधेरा भी हृदय में जो है उसे नष्ट नहीं कर सकता।
स्वदशास्वादनरता वातयन्त्रसुचारितारोदःसद्मनि सूर्याख्या दीप्यते दिवि दीपिका || १० ||
svadaśāsvādanaratā vātayantrasucāritārodaḥsadmani sūryākhyā dīpyate divi dīpikā || 10 ||
The one who is engaged in enjoying their own state shines like a lamp in the sky, in the abode adorned with the wind instrument.
जो अपनी स्थिति का आनंद ले रहा है, वह वायु यंत्र से सजे हुए आश्रय में आकाश की दीपशिखा की तरह चमकता है।
ब्रह्मसंकल्पितो रुद्धो वातसंचारचारिभिःखेऽनिशं चक्रमृक्षाणां गुणावर्तो विवर्तते || ११ ||
brahmasaṃkalpito ruddho vātasaṃcāracāribhiḥkhe'niśaṃ cakramṛkṣāṇāṃ guṇāvarto vivartate || 11 ||
The wheel of the constellations, which is the manifestation of the qualities, revolves continuously in the sky, obstructed by the movements of the wind, as ordained by Brahma.
ब्रह्मा द्वारा निर्धारित, वायु के गतिविधि से रुद्ध, गुणों का चक्र आकाश में निरंतर घूमता रहता है।
भूततण्डुलमासृष्टेः पिनष्टि ध्रुवकीलकःनियत्या चलितो रोदः कपाटाम्भोदघर्घरः || १२ ||
bhūtataṇḍulamāsṛṣṭeḥ pinaṣṭi dhruvakīlakaḥniyatyā calito rodaḥ kapāṭāmbhodaghargharaḥ || 12 ||
The fixed pivot, having swallowed the seed of the elements, moves by necessity, causing the roaring sound of the celestial doors and waters.
तत्वों के बीज को निगल लेने वाला स्थिर कीलक, अनिवार्य रूप से चलता है, जिससे दिव्य द्वारों और जल की गर्जना होती है।
द्वीपाब्धिशैलैर्भूपीठं विमाननगरैर्नभःदेत्यदानवनागौघैः पूर्णं पातालमण्डलम् || १३ ||
dvīpābdhiśailairbhūpīṭhaṃ vimānanagarairnabhaḥdetyadānavanāgaughaiḥ pūrṇaṃ pātālamaṇḍalam || 13 ||
The earth, adorned with islands, oceans, and mountains, is filled with celestial cities and vehicles in the sky, and the underworld is filled with demons and serpents.
द्वीपों, समुद्रों और पर्वतों से सज्जित पृथ्वी, आकाश में दिव्य नगरों और विमानों से भरी हुई है, और पाताल दानवों और नागों से भरा हुआ है।
कुण्डलं त्रिजगल्लक्ष्म्या नीलं भूतलमण्डलम्स्थितं चञ्चलमाचारचञ्चलायाः स्फुरन्मणि || १४ ||
kuṇḍalaṃ trijagallakṣmyā nīlaṃ bhūtalamaṇḍalamsthitaṃ cañcalamācāracañcalāyāḥ sphuranmaṇi || 14 ||
The blue earthly realm, adorned with the splendor of the three worlds, is situated like a trembling jewel, moving with the restless nature of the restless one.
तीनों लोकों की शोभा से सज्जित, नीला पृथ्वी मण्डल, चंचल प्रकृति वाले चंचल की तरह काँपता हुआ रत्न के समान स्थित है।
बुद्ध्यादिरहितां स्पन्दसंविदं वायवीमिवस्थावरं जङ्गमं चैव सूक्ष्ममादाय जायते || १५ ||
buddhyādirahitāṃ spandasaṃvidaṃ vāyavīmivasthāvaraṃ jaṃgamaṃ caiva sūkṣmamādāya jāyate || 15 ||
The subtle, moving and non-moving, devoid of intelligence and other qualities, is born taking the form of the vibrating consciousness, like the wind.
बुद्धि और अन्य गुणों से रहित, सूक्ष्म, चल और अचल, कंपन चेतना के रूप में, वायु की तरह, उत्पन्न होता है।
मुनिमौनैर्धरा वार्भिर्मारुतैः कपिचापलमाकाशैरवकाशित्वं तेजोभिर्भासनं श्रितम् || १६ ||
munimaunairdharā vārbhirmārutaiḥ kapicāpalamākāśairavakāśitvaṃ tejobhirbhāsanaṃ śritam || 16 ||
The earth is supported by the silence of the sages, the clouds by the wind, the restless monkeys by the sky, and the radiance by the luminous bodies.
धरती मुनियों के मौन से संभाली जाती है, बादल हवाओं से, अस्थिर बंदर आकाश से, और चमक प्रकाश से संभाली जाती है।
वृक्षोर्व्यभ्यद्रिखचराः प्राणिनोन्तः स्फुरन्त्यलम्मृतिजन्मोन्मुखाः कीटसुरासुरजलौकसः || १७ ||
vṛkṣorvyabdhyadrikhacarāḥ prāṇinontaḥ sphurantyalammṛtijanmonmukhāḥ kīṭasurāsurajalaukasaḥ || 17 ||
Trees, mountains, and moving creatures, all living beings, shine within, eager for death and birth, including insects, gods, demons, and aquatic beings.
वृक्ष, पर्वत, और चलने वाले जीव, सभी जीव अंदर चमकते हैं, मृत्यु और जन्म के लिए उत्सुक, जिसमें कीट, देवता, असुर, और जलचर शामिल हैं।

Time, along with gods, demons, and celestial musicians, nurtures the beings with the cycles of days and ages, like a shepherd caring for his flock.
समय, देवताओं, असुरों, और स्वर्गीय संगीतकारों के साथ, दिनों और युगों के चक्रों से प्राणियों का पालन करता है, जैसे एक चरवाहा अपने झुंड का ध्यान रखता है।

In the vast, deep ocean of time, beings arise and dissolve, moving in the cycle of creation and dissolution.
समय के विशाल, गहरे सागर में, प्राणी उत्पन्न होते हैं और विलीन होते हैं, उत्पत्ति और विनाश के चक्र में चलते हैं।
चतुर्दशविधा वातवेल्लिता भूतपांसवःनाशाकाशे विलीयन्ते शरदम्भोदलीलया || २० ||
caturdaśavidhā vātavellitā bhūtapāṃsavaḥnāśākāśe vilīyante śaradambhodalīlayā || 20 ||
The fourteen types of beings, driven by the wind, dissolve into the sky, like the play of autumn clouds.
चौदह प्रकार के प्राणी, हवा से प्रेरित, आकाश में विलीन हो जाते हैं, जैसे शरद ऋतु के बादलों का खेल।
भुवनं बोधयन्ती द्यौश्चन्द्रार्ककरचामरैःस्थिताकाशांशुकाकल्पतारकोत्करशेखरा || २१ ||
bhuvanaṃ bodhayantī dyauścandrārkakaracāmaraiḥsthitākāśāṃśukākalpatārakotkaraśekharā || 21 ||
The sky, illuminating the world with the moon, sun, and stars, appears like a canopy adorned with celestial jewels.
आकाश, चंद्रमा, सूर्य और तारों से जगत को प्रकाशित करता है, और दिव्य रत्नों से सजे हुए छत्र की तरह दिखाई देता है।
स्थिताः पवनभूकम्पमेघतापसहिष्णवःस्वं प्रदेशमनुज्झन्त्यः ककुभः स्तम्भिता इव || २२ ||
sthitāḥ pavanabhūkampameghatāpasahiṣṇavaḥsvaṃ pradeśamanujjhantyaḥ kakubhaḥ stambhitā iva || 22 ||
The directions, enduring the wind, earthquakes, and the heat of the sun, seem to abandon their own regions as if they are frozen.
दिशाएँ, हवा, भूकंप, और सूर्य की गर्मी सहन करती हैं, और जैसे वे जम गई हों, अपने क्षेत्रों को छोड़ने की तरह लगती हैं।
उत्पातमेघनिर्ह्रादभूमिकम्पग्रहग्रहैःअप्यातैरपि विज्ञातैर्भूतानां जायते गतिः || २३ ||
utpātameghanirhrādabhūmikampagrahagrahaiḥapyātairapi vijñātairbhūtānāṃ jāyate gatiḥ || 23 ||
Even with the known occurrences of portentous clouds, thunder, earthquakes, and planetary movements, the fate of beings is determined.
भले ही शुभ बादल, गर्जन, भूकंप, और ग्रहों की गति ज्ञात हों, प्राणियों का भाग्य निश्चित होता है।
सप्तानां जलमभ्दीनामौर्वाग्निः पिबति ज्वलन्लोकान्तराणामाकल्पं कालो भूतगणं यथा || २४ ||
saptānāṃ jalamabdhīnāmaurvāgniḥ pibati jvalanlokāntarāṇāmākalpaṃ kālo bhūtagaṇaṃ yathā || 24 ||
Just as the subterranean fire drinks the water of the seven oceans, time consumes the elements of the worlds at the end of the kalpa.
जैसे पाताल की अग्नि सात समुद्रों का जल पी जाती है, वैसे ही काल कल्प के अंत में लोकों के तत्वों को निगल जाता है।
पातालमाविशति याति नभोबिलं च दिङ्मण्डलं भ्रमति भूतगणः समन्तात्पर्येति पर्वतमहार्णवमण्डलानि द्वीपान्तराणि च मरुत्सरणक्रमेण || २५ ||
pātālamāviśati yāti nabhobilaṃ ca diṅmaṇḍalaṃ bhramati bhūtagaṇaḥ samantātparyeti parvatamahārṇavamaṇḍalāni dvīpāntarāṇi ca marutsaraṇakrameṇa || 25 ||
The elements enter the underworld, move through the sky, revolve in the celestial sphere, and traverse the mountains, oceans, and islands with the motion of the wind.
तत्व पाताल में प्रवेश करते हैं, आकाश में चलते हैं, खगोलीय मंडल में घूमते हैं, और हवा की गति के साथ पर्वतों, समुद्रों, और द्वीपों को पार करते हैं।
