mandramandaramanthānaśabdasandarbhosundarīm | darīṃ dalanadurvāramithaḥsaṃghaṭṭaghaṭṭitām || 44 ||
With the beautiful sound of the churning of the Mandara mountain, the cave is difficult to break, clashing and striking against each other.
śṛṅgasanghaṭṭasadṛśāḥ kreṅkārotkarakarkaśāḥ | nadīrmuktālatāpātasasragdāmanabhastalāḥ || 45 ||
The rivers, with peaks clashing like horns, harsh and fierce, falling like pearl garlands from the sky.
śilāśakalapūrṇārṇapūrṇāmbaramahārṇavam | vahadvanaghanoddhātaghaṭṭitabrahmamaṇḍalam || 46 ||
The vast ocean filled with rocks and stones, carrying the dense forest and the universe shaken by it.
parasparavinirmṛṣṭadaśadarśanadanturam | caṭatkaṭakaṭārāvasphuṭatkaṭakaṭaṅkitam || 47 ||
Mutually polished, with ten aspects of vision, difficult to see, with the sound of clattering and clanking.
khapātapavanādhūtavanavātalatodayam | raṇadātmadṛṣaccūrṇakarburāmbujadhāriṇam || 48 ||
The wind blowing from the sky, causing the forest to sway, with the sound of battle, and carrying the dust and pollen of lotuses.
prāgbhato’dbhaṭabhedotthairmandrirmaramarāravaiḥ | krūrākrandairivābhāti virājitajagattrayam || 49 ||
With the sounds of various instruments and the cries of fierce beings, the three worlds appear to shine.
iti taiḥ kāṣṭhapāṣāṇamṛdyugvātabhaṭairvṛtaḥ | paripīḍita evāste yadā jīvo jaḍīkṛtaḥ || 50 ||
Thus, surrounded by wood, stone, mud, wind, and soldiers, the living being is oppressed and becomes inert.
mṛdantaḥkīṭakaṇavacchilāntargatabhekavat garbhastāpakvaśiśuvatphalāntargatabījavat || 51 ||
Just as a worm is inside a stone, a frog is inside a stone, a ripe child is inside the womb, and a seed is inside a fruit.
bījodarasthāṅkuravaddravyapiṇḍodarāṇuvat aśrāntastambakośasthadāruputrakadehavat || 52 ||
Just as a sprout is inside a seed, an atom is inside a lump of matter, and a tree sapling is inside a tender stalk.
sauṣiryāsaṃbhavātprāṇapavanaspanḍavarjitaḥ pronnamatparśupūreṇa śilāpūreṇa tarjitaḥ || 53 ||
Due to the absence of breath, there is no movement of the life force. It is as if struck by an axe or a stone.
tadā niviḍatejonantarevānubhavati svayaṃ suṣuptaṃ śailakośābhamandhakūpodaropamam || 54 ||
Then, one experiences the deep sleep state, which is like a dense darkness, resembling a stone cave or a blind well.
yadā pariṇataṃ yatnaṃ punaḥ sauṣiryamāgatam punarvetti tadā jīvaḥ svapnaṃ prāṇāvabodhitaḥ || 55 ||
When the effort is complete and breath returns, then the individual, awakened by the life force, experiences the dream state again.
yadā tasminpradeśe'ntarbhāgabhāgānpatanti te | dehe pariṇamanto'ntastadevātyadrivarṣaṇam || 56 ||
When in that region, the internal parts fall, they transform within the body, and that is the excessive rainfall.
bahveva vahnibahunā svalpenālpaṃ prapaśyati | vātapittādiyogena bahirantaśca saṃbhramam || 57 ||
Even with much fire, one sees little with little, due to the combination of wind and bile, there is confusion both outside and inside.
paśyatyaetadyathaivāntareṣa jīvo vaśīkṛtaḥ | vātapittādivalito bahirvettyevameti vā || 58 ||
One sees this as if the inner self is subdued, enveloped by wind and bile, and thus perceives externally in this manner.
kṣubdhairantarbahiścaiva svalpaiḥ svalpaṃ prapaśyati | samaiḥ samamidaṃ dṛśyaṃ vātapittakaphādinā || 59 ||
With agitated internal and external elements, one sees little with little, but with balanced elements, this vision is balanced, influenced by wind, bile, and phlegm.
bahiḥ paśyatyaayaṃ jīvaḥ kupitairēbhirāvṛtaḥ | spandaṃ bhūmyadrinabhasāṃ jvalanaṃ vānaloccayaiḥ || 60 ||
This being, enveloped by these agitated elements, sees externally the trembling of the earth, mountains, and sky, and the blazing of fire with its flames.
ākāśagamanaṃ caiva candrodoyahimācalān | gahanaṃ vṛkṣaśailānāṃ nabhaḥplavanam arṇasām || 61 ||
The act of flying in the sky, the rising of the moon, the snowy mountains, the dense forests and hills, and the swimming in the sky of the rivers.
majjannonmajja naṃ vābdhau surataṃ surasadmasu | śailopavanaśubhrābhrapīṭhaviśramaṇoccayam || 62 ||
Diving and emerging in the ocean, union with the divine in heavenly abodes, and the lofty rest on the pure, cloud-like seats in the mountain groves.
bṛhatkrakacaniṣpeṣaṃ narakānubhavabhramam | tālītamālahiṃtālamālāvalanamambare || 63 ||
The crushing of large saws, the illusion of experiencing hell, and the garlanding of the sky with the sound of clapping and the fragrance of sandalwood.
cakravṛttaīśca patanaṃ jhagityutpata naṃ divi | śūnye'pi janatāvṛndaṃ sthale'pyabdhinimajjanam || 64 ||
Falling from spinning wheels, jumping and flying in the sky, seeing a crowd in emptiness, and diving into the ocean on land.
vicitraṃ viparītaṃ ca vyavahāraṃ mahāniśi | ahnīva bhāskarālokaṃ durbhedyaṃ cāhni vā tamaḥ || 65 ||
Strange and contradictory behavior in the great night, and the impenetrable darkness even in the daylight.
sādrībhūtalamākāśe kuḍyabandhe ghane sthalam | kuḍyabandhāṃśca gagane mitrabhāvaṃ ca vidviṣi || 66 ||
In the sky, the earth appears as a dense wall, and the walls appear as friends in the sky.
svajane paratābuddhiṃ sujanatvaṃ ca durjane | susamasthalatāṃ śvabhre śvabhratvaṃ susame sthale || 67 ||
In one's own people, there is a sense of superiority, and in the noble, there is nobility. In a level place, there is evenness, and in a hole, there is hollowness.
udgītālāpamasṛṇānsudhādhautānsucitritān | adrīñśvetamayānvāpi navanītamayānśca vā || 68 ||
The melodious songs, the smooth and nectar-washed, beautifully adorned, white like mountains, or even like fresh butter.
kadambanīpajambīrapatras tabakasadmasu | sukhaviśramaṇaṃ strībhiḥ nākaṃ padmeṣvivāliṇaḥ || 69 ||
In the abodes adorned with kadamba, nipa, jambira, and tabaka leaves, the women rest comfortably like bees in lotuses.
antarnimīlitā hyetāḥ paśyantyunmīlitā bahiḥ | dhātūnāmiti vaiṣamyādbhrāntimindriyavṛttayaḥ || 70 ||
These, which are closed within, appear open outside. Due to the difference in the elements, the senses are confused.
evaṃvidhānyanekāni paśyantyanubhavanti ca | bahireva yathā svapne vastunyasamadhātavaḥ || 71 ||
Thus, many such things are seen and experienced, just like in a dream, outside, in things that are not real.
bahiścāntaśca dṛśyante viparītānyanekaśaḥ | kāryāṇyatikarālāni jīvairasamadhātubhiḥ || 72 ||
Both outside and inside, many contradictory actions are seen, which are very terrible, by beings who are not real.
sameṣu dhātuṣveṣo'ntarjīvo'nubhavati svayam | tejontargata eva imāṃ vyavahārasthitiṃ samām || 73 ||
In the same elements, the inner being experiences itself. Being within the light, it experiences this worldly existence as equal.
yathāsthitāṃ puragrāmapattnāraṇyasaṃtatim | saumyavāritaruśchāyādeśādhvagagamāgamam || 74 ||
As it is, the continuity of cities, villages, forests, pleasant water, trees, shadows, regions, paths, comings, and goings.
sukhātapamayendvarkatārāhorātramaṇḍitam | evametadasadbhūtaṃ sadbhūtamiva bhāsate || 75 ||
Adorned with pleasant heat, moonlight, stars, day, and night, thus this unreal entity appears as if real.
dṛśyopalambhaṃ cittatve spandanaṃ pavane yathā | asadeva sadābhāsamabhinnaṃ bhinnavatsthitam || 76 ||
The perception of the visible world in the essence of consciousness is like the vibration in the air | Though it is unreal, it appears real, undivided yet seems divided
śāntādudeti sakalaṃ jagadambarātma śāntaṃ na kiṃcana na nāma sadityudeti | tadvyomanīdṛśamanantaciteḥ śarīre bhāmātramātatamanantavapurvibhāti || 77 ||
From the peaceful, the entire universe arises, the peaceful self, nothing arises, no name, that is reality | In the infinite consciousness, such is the body, the mere appearance of the infinite form shines
