Just as the objects seen in a dream are imaginary and not real, similarly, the objects seen in the waking state are also not real.

English

Due to the subtlety of the objects grasped by the perception of resolve, they obtain the result in dreams, which is subtle due to its worldly nature.

The arrangement of consciousness in the heart, which is the attainment of resolve, is the perfection of one's own nature, born of the meaning of cause and effect.

English

The three worlds are forms of emptiness, situated in the sky of consciousness, like the inherent vibratory nature of the gentle wind.

33

English

In this difficult creation, the appearance is merely an illusion, just as the rope is mistaken for a snake.

English

Due to the imagined consciousness, these names are created in the self, which is the essence of pure consciousness, thinking 'someone exists.'

saṃvidātmā svayaṃ cittvādddehaṃ vetti khameva khe mṛtvā santaṃ santamiva saṃkalpasvapnayoriva || 39 ||

English

The self, which is the essence of consciousness, knows the body from the consciousness itself, like the sky in the sky, and after death, it knows the peaceful one as if in a dream or imagination.

svayaṃ svapna ivābhāti mṛtasya paralokadhīḥ tameva paśyati ciraṃ na tatrāpyasti satyatā || 40 ||

English

If another creates the dead, how can there be memory of it? How can that be the same consciousness? That very space.

English

In death, it is not born, therefore it is only consciousness. Here, it knows itself as such in the space of desires.

English

It remains in its own practiced state, experiencing for a long time. Here, it clearly perceives the truth.

khātmā khameva tatraiva svapnābhaṃ dṛśyamāharan punaḥ svamarṇaṃ vetti punarjanma punarjagat || 44 ||

English

The self, which is space itself, brings the dream-like visible there. Again, it knows its own death, rebirth, and the world.

English

Thus, seeing the illusion in space, established in each, it sees, practices, and eats something, someone, nothing.

ekaṃ prabodhataḥ sarve cinmātraṃ tāvadātmakham | tadevāneka saṃvittyā sahasraṃ cijjaḍātmanām || 57 ||

English

From the perspective of awakening, all is pure consciousness, the essence of the self. That same consciousness, through manifold awareness, becomes the thousandfold forms of sentient and insentient beings.

ekaṃ tathā ca cinmātraṃ svapne lakṣātma tiṣṭhati | punarlakṣātma tatsvapnādekamāste suṣuptake || 58 ||

English

Similarly, the one pure consciousness exists as the essence of dreams. Again, from that dream state, it exists as one in deep sleep.

English

The one consciousness itself assumes various forms, human characteristics, emptiness, and reality, just like in dreams and imaginations.

English

All this is non-resisting, merely an experience. It is pure where it appears, and it becomes as it appears.

saṃvidākāśarūpaiva bhāti pṛthvyādināmikā | yattadeva khamevedaṃ jagadityeva bhāsate || 63 ||

English

Consciousness appears as the space itself, named as earth and other elements. That very space is perceived as the world.

saṃvitsapratighaṃ bhāti bhāti cāpratighaṃ tathā | na vastutastu pratighā saṃvitsānte nivartate || 64 ||

English

Consciousness appears with and without resistance. In reality, there is no resistance; consciousness withdraws at the end.

English

One who continuously practices what is seen and imagined will surely attain it and will not cease until the desire is fulfilled.

English

One who goes to the east and west, knowing the directions for a long time, stays there, goes there, leaving the other.

khe puraṃ syāṃ bhuvi mṛgaḥ syāmityacalasaṃvidaḥ dvayaṃ bhaveddvayaṃ naśyatyanyadanyattu tajjagat || 70 ||

72

eṣa cejjīvato dharmastadddeśāntarage jane | mṛta ityeva buddhe'rthe kasmānnaiva pravartate || 75 ||

English

If this is the nature of the living in another country, why does it not apply in the case of the dead in the same sense?

jīvadharmaḥ so'pi saṃścenmṛtadharmo'pi kiṃ na san | yādṛganubhavastvasmin same nyāyadvaye sthite || 76 ||

83

Let it be so or otherwise, let it not be or let it be. What is the confusion here? O Arjuna, let go of the fruit of actions, having understood, you have done enough wandering.
