śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | atha teṣvarṇavataṭeṣvetebhūmau vipaścitaḥ | upaviśyaitadakhilaṃ cakrū rājyaprayojanam || 1 ||
Shri Vasishtha said: Then, those wise men, having settled on the banks of the river, discussed all matters related to the kingdom.
श्री वसिष्ठ ने कहा: फिर, वे बुद्धिमान लोग, नदी के किनारे बैठकर, राज्य से संबंधित सभी मामलों पर चर्चा की।
तदा तत्रैव ते वासभूमिं कृत्वा यथाक्रमम् | तस्थुर्मण्डलमर्यादां स्थापयामासुरक्षताम् || २ ||
tadā tatraiva te vāsabhūmiṃ kṛtvā yathākramam | tasthurmaṇḍalamaryādāṃ sthāpayāmāsurakṣatām || 2 ||
At that time, they made that place their residence in an orderly manner and established the boundaries of their territory, ensuring its protection.
उस समय, उन्होंने उसी स्थान को अपना निवास स्थान बनाया और क्रमबद्ध ढंग से अपने क्षेत्र की सीमाएँ स्थापित कीं, उसकी सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित की।
अथ वर्णयितुं श्रीमांस्तत्प्रतापमिवागमत् | संप्रविश्य समुद्रान्तरन्यलोकान्तरं रविः || ३ ||
atha varṇayituṃ śrīmāṃstatpratāpamivāgamat | saṃpraviśya samudrāntaranyalokāntaraṃ raviḥ || 3 ||
Then, as if to describe his splendor, the glorious sun entered the other world beyond the ocean.
फिर, जैसे अपनी शोभा का वर्णन करने के लिए, शोभायमान सूर्य समुद्र के पार दूसरी दुनिया में प्रवेश किया।
आययौ यामिनीश्यामा मेघलेखेव तानवम् | संपादिताहर्व्यापारास्तस्थुः स्वशयनेषु ते || ४ ||
āyayau yāminīśyāmā meghalekheva tānavam | saṃpāditāharvyāpārāstasthuḥ svaśayaneṣu te || 4 ||
The dark night arrived like a cloudy line, and they, having completed their day's work, rested in their beds.
रात का अंधेरा बादलों की पंक्ति की तरह आया, और वे, अपने दिन के काम पूरे करके, अपने बिस्तरों पर विश्राम किया।
आसमुद्रं नदीवाहा इव दूरादुपागताः | इदं संपादयामासुर्विस्मयाकुलचेतसः || ५ ||
āsamudraṃ nadīvāhā iva dūrādupāgatāḥ | idaṃ saṃpādayāmāsurvismayākulacetasaḥ || 5 ||
Like rivers flowing into the ocean from afar, they, with minds filled with wonder, accomplished this.
जैसे नदियाँ दूर से समुद्र में बहती हैं, वैसे ही वे, आश्चर्य से भरे मन से, इसे संपन्न किया।
अहो नु दूरमध्वानं प्राप्ता वयमयत्नतः | प्रभावाद्देवदेवस्य वह्नेर्दिव्यैः स्ववाहनैः || ६ ||
aho nu dūramadhvānaṃ prāptā vayamayatnataḥ | prabhāvāddevadevasya vahnerdivyaiḥ svavāhanaiḥ || 6 ||
Oh, we have effortlessly reached this distant path | By the power of the supreme god of fire, with his divine vehicles || 6 ||
ओह, हम बिना किसी प्रयास के इस दूर के मार्ग तक पहुंच गए हैं | अग्नि देव की शक्ति से, उनके दिव्य वाहनों के साथ || 6 ||
कियती स्यात्प्रविस्तीर्णा दृश्यश्रीरियमातता | इतः समुद्रस्तदनु द्वीपभूरम्बुधिः प्रभुः || ७ ||
kiyatī syātpravistīrṇā dṛśyaśrīriyamātatā | itaḥ samudrastadanu dvīpabhūrambudhiḥ prabhuḥ || 7 ||
How vast is this visible splendor that has spread out? | From here, the ocean, then the island, the ocean is the lord || 7 ||
इस फैली हुई दृश्य शोभा कितनी विस्तृत है? | यहां से समुद्र, फिर द्वीप, समुद्र ही प्रभु है || 7 ||
इतो द्वीपं ततोऽम्भोधिः किमन्ते स्यात्ततोऽपि च | कियती कीदृशी वा स्यान्मायेयं चेत्यरूपिणी || ८ ||
ito dvīpaṃ tato'mbhodhiḥ kimante syāttato'pi ca | kiyatī kīdṛśī vā syānmāyeyaṃ cetyarūpiṇī || 8 ||
From here to the island, then the ocean, what will be at the end of that? | How much or what kind will this illusory form be? || 8 ||
यहां से द्वीप तक, फिर समुद्र, उसके अंत में क्या होगा? | यह भ्रामक रूप कितना होगा या कैसा होगा? || 8 ||
तत्प्रार्थयामहे देवं हुताशं तद्वरादिमाः | प्रेक्षामहे दिशः सर्वा आपर्यन्तमखेदिनः || ९ ||
tatprārthayāmahe devaṃ hutāśaṃ tadvadimāḥ | prekṣāmahe diśaḥ sarvā āparyantamakhedinaḥ || 9 ||
Therefore, we pray to the god of fire, the giver of boons | We will observe all directions to the farthest extent without fatigue || 9 ||
इसलिए, हम वरदायक अग्नि देव से प्रार्थना करते हैं | हम थके बिना सभी दिशाओं को अंत तक देखेंगे || 9 ||
इति संचिन्त्य ते सर्वे यथास्थानमवस्थिताः | सममेवाह्वयामासुर्भगवन्तं हुताशनम् || १० ||
iti saṃcintya te sarve yathāsthānamavasthitāḥ | samamevāhvayāmāsurbhagavantaṃ hutāśanam || 10 ||
Thus thinking, all of them stood in their respective places | They all equally invoked the blessed god of fire || 10 ||
ऐसा सोचकर, सभी अपने-अपने स्थानों पर खड़े हुए | सभी ने समान रूप से भगवान अग्नि देव को पुकारा || 10 ||
बभूव भगवानेषामथ दृश्यो हुताशनः| आकारवान्वरं पुत्राः प्रगृह्णीतेत्युवाच ह || ११ ||
babhūva bhagavāneṣāmatha dṛśyo hutāśanaḥ| ākāravānvaraṃ putrāḥ pragṛhṇītyuvāca ha || 11 ||
Then the Lord became visible to them, and Agni (the fire god) said, 'Accept the boon, O sons, in a visible form.'
तब भगवान उनके सामने प्रकट हुए, और अग्नि देव ने कहा, 'हे पुत्रो, दृश्य रूप में वर स्वीकार करो।'
विपश्चित ऊचुः| पञ्चभूतात्मकस्यास्य दृश्यस्यान्तं सुरेश्वर| देहेन मन्त्रदेहेन तदन्ते मनसापि च || १२ ||
vipaścit ūcuḥ| pañcabhūtātmakasyāsya dṛśyasyāntaṃ sureśvara| dehena mantradehena tadante manasāpi ca || 12 ||
The wise ones said, 'O Lord of the gods, we wish to see the end of this visible form composed of the five elements, first with the physical body, then with the mantra body, and finally with the mind.'
विद्वानों ने कहा, 'हे देवेश्वर, हम इस पंचभूतात्मक दृश्य रूप का अंत देखना चाहते हैं, पहले शारीरिक देह से, फिर मंत्र देह से, और अंत में मन से।'
यावत्संवेदनं यावत्संभवं यावदात्मकम्| पश्येम इति नो देव दीयतामुत्तमो वरः || १३ ||
yāvatsaṃvedanaṃ yāvatsaṃbhavaṃ yāvadātmakam| paśyema iti no deva dīyatāmuttamo varaḥ || 13 ||
We wish to see as much as we can perceive, as much as we can comprehend, and as much as is essential to our being. Therefore, O God, grant us the supreme boon.
हम उतना देखना चाहते हैं जितना हम समझ सकते हैं, जितना हम ग्रहण कर सकते हैं, और जितना हमारे अस्तित्व के लिए आवश्यक है। इसलिए, हे देव, हमें उत्तम वर प्रदान करें।
आसिद्धगम्यमध्वानं पश्येम वपुषा वयम्| तदन्ते मनसैवाथ दृश्यं पश्येम भो प्रभो || १४ ||
āsiddhagamyamadhvānaṃ paśyema vapuṣā vayam| tadante manasaivātha dṛśyaṃ paśyema bho prabho || 14 ||
We wish to see the path that is difficult to attain with our physical form. After that, O Lord, we wish to see the visible with the mind alone.
हम उस पथ को देखना चाहते हैं जो हमारे शारीरिक रूप से दुर्लभ है। उसके बाद, हे प्रभु, हम मन के द्वारा ही दृश्य को देखना चाहते हैं।
आसिद्धगम्यमध्वानं मृत्युरस्माकमस्तु मा| अध्वन्यसंभवद्देहे मन एव प्रयातु नः || १५ ||
āsiddhagamyamadhvānaṃ mṛtyurasmākamastu mā| adhvanyasaṃbhavaddhehe mana eva prayātu naḥ || 15 ||
May the difficult-to-attain path not be our death. In the body that arises from the path, may our mind alone proceed.
दुर्लभ पथ हमारी मृत्यु न हो। पथ से उत्पन्न शरीर में, हमारा मन ही आगे बढ़े।
श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच अथैवमस्त्विति प्रोच्य पावकः सहसागमत् क्षणादौर्वतया यातुं समुद्र इव सत्वरः || १६ ||
śrīvāsiṣṭa uvāca athaiavamastviti procā pāvakaḥ sahasāgamat kṣaṇādourvatayā yātuṁ samudra iva satvaraḥ || 16 ||
Shri Vasistha said, 'So be it,' and having said this, the fire suddenly appeared, swiftly moving like the ocean towards Aurva in an instant.
श्री वसिष्ठ ने कहा, 'ऐसा ही हो,' और यह कहकर अग्नि अचानक प्रकट हुआ, और और्व की ओर तेजी से बढ़ा, जैसे समुद्र की तरह एक क्षण में ही।
अग्निर्जगामाथ समाजगाम निशा विलम्ब्याथ जगाम सापि समाजगामापि रविर्जगाम तेषां च धीरार्णवलङ्घनेहा || १७ ||
agnirjagāmātha samājagāma niśā vilambyātha jagāma sāpi samājagāmāpi ravirjagāma teṣāṁ ca dhīrārṇavalangghanehā || 17 ||
The fire went, then the assembly gathered, the night lingered and then departed, the assembly gathered again, and the sun rose. All of them were eager to cross the ocean of wisdom.
अग्नि चली गई, फिर सभा एकत्र हुई, रात विलंब करके चली गई, फिर सभा एकत्र हुई, और सूर्य उदय हुआ। सभी ज्ञान के समुद्र को पार करने के लिए उत्सुक थे।
