श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच | बलान्यनुतरन्तोऽथ तदित्थं द्रवतां द्विषाम् | दूराद्दूरतरं प्राप्ताश्चत्वारस्ते विपश्चितः || १ ||

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | balānyanutarantō'tha taditthaṃ dravatāṃ dviṣām | dūrāddūrataraṃ prāptāścatvāraste vipaścitaḥ || 1 ||

English

Shri Vasistha said: Following the armies, they then reached the enemies who were fleeing in that manner. Those four wise ones reached farther and farther from afar.

हिन्दी

श्री वसिष्ठ ने कहा: सेनाओं का अनुसरण करते हुए, वे फिर उन शत्रुओं तक पहुंचे जो उस तरह भाग रहे थे। वे चारों बुद्धिमान दूर से दूर तक पहुंचे।

सर्वशक्तिमयैकेन चेतनेनेश्वरेण ते | प्रहिता दिग्जयं चक्रुः सर्व एव समाशयाः || २ ||

sarvaśaktimayaikena cetaneneśvareṇa te | prahitā digjayaṃ cakruḥ sarva eva samāśayāḥ || 2 ||

English

Sent by the all-powerful, conscious Lord, they all, with the same intention, conquered the directions.

सर्वशक्तिमान, चेतन ईश्वर द्वारा भेजे गए, वे सभी एक ही इरादे से दिशाओं पर विजय प्राप्त की।

दूरात्तावदविच्छिन्नमनुसस्रुर्बलानि ते | यावत्तीरं समुद्राणां प्रवाहाः सरितामिव || ३ ||

dūrāttāvadavicchinnamanusasrurbalāni te | yāvattīraṃ samudrāṇāṃ pravāhāḥ saritāmiva || 3 ||

English

From afar, they followed the uninterrupted armies like the flow of rivers to the shores of the oceans.

दूर से, वे नदियों की तरह बिना रुके सेनाओं का अनुसरण करते हुए समुद्रों के तट तक पहुंचे।

दूराविश्रान्तयानेन तेषां तत्सर्वसाधनम् | आत्मीयं परकीयं च क्षीणं कुसरिदम्बुवत् || ४ ||

dūrāviśrāntayānena teṣāṃ tatsarvasādhanam | ātmīyaṃ parakīyaṃ ca kṣīṇaṃ kusaridambuvat || 4 ||

English

With the fatigue of distant travel, all their means, both their own and others', were exhausted like water in a small pond.

दूर की यात्रा के थकान से, उनके सभी साधन, अपने और दूसरों के, छोटे तालाब के पानी की तरह खत्म हो गए।

आत्मीयान्यन्यदीयानि तेषां वीक्ष्यबलान्यलम् | क्षीणानीव मुमुक्षूणां पुण्यपापानि धावताम् || ५ ||

ātmīyānyanyadīyāni teṣāṃ vīkṣyabalānyalam | kṣīṇānīva mumukṣūṇāṃ puṇyapāpāni dhāvatām || 5 ||

English

Seeing their own and others' armies exhausted, they seemed like the exhausted merits and demerits of those seeking liberation.

अपनी और दूसरों की सेनाओं को थका हुआ देखकर, वे मुक्ति की इच्छा रखने वालों के थके हुए पुण्य और पाप की तरह लगे।

English

The weapons themselves became calm as if they had accomplished their purpose in the sky| The flames of fire became calm as if there was no more to burn

In the dwellings, chariots, horses, and forests, the causes became calm as if they were tired at the end of the day like birds

Released from hundreds of whirlpools, endowed with gentle shade, calm with the clouds' fury, the high waves and rain subsided

English

The stars, embedded within the celestial sphere, became like a cluster of gems in the corner of the sky. The void, pure and vast, became like the single ocean of the sky.

अंतरिक्ष में छिपे हुए तारे आकाश के कोण में रत्नों के ढेर की तरह स्थित हो गए| शून्यता, निर्मल और विशाल, आकाश का एकमात्र समुद्र बन गया।

लम्बप्रकाशगम्भीरं प्रसन्नं कान्तिमत्ततम्| रजोविरहितं रेजे खं मनो महतामिव || १२ ||

lambaprakāśagambhīraṃ prasannaṃ kāntimattatam| rajovirahitaṃ reje khaṃ mano mahatāmiva || 12 ||

English

The sky, deep and bright, appeared calm and radiant, free from dust, like the mind of the great ones.

आकाश, गहरा और उज्ज्वल, शांत और चमकदार दिखाई देता है, धूल से मुक्त, महान लोगों के मन की तरह।

अथार्णवांस्ते ददृशुराकाशस्यानुजानिव| विस्तीर्णान्विमलाकारान्पूरिताखिलदिक्तटान् || १३ ||

athārṇavāṃste dadṛśurākāśasyānujāniva| vistīrṇānvimalākārānpūritākhiladiktāṭān || 13 ||

English

Then they saw the oceans, as if they were the younger siblings of the sky, vast, pure, and filling all directions.

English

The oceans were filled with waves, foam, and turbulent waters, adorned with abundant spray and mist.

स्थितानात्मानमास्तीर्य भूमौ व्याध्यातुरानिव| श्वसनार्तांश्चलद्देहान्विवर्तोर्मिमहाभुजान् || १५ ||

sthitānātmānamāstīrya bhūmau vyādhyāturāniva| śvasanārtāṃścaladdehānvivartormimahābhujān || 15 ||

English

They lay on the earth, as if sick with disease, breathing heavily, their bodies trembling, turning like great serpents.

वे पृथ्वी पर पड़े हुए थे, मानो रोग से पीड़ित हों, भारी साँसें लेते हुए, उनके शरीर काँप रहे थे, विशाल सर्पों की तरह घूम रहे थे।

जडानपि स्पन्दमयान्कल्लोलाकोटकोटरान् | संसारानिव विस्तीर्णांश्चक्रावर्तदशाकुलान् || १६ ||

jaḍānapi spandamayānkallolākoṭakoṭarān | saṃsārāniva vistīrṇāṃścakrāvartadaśākulān || 16 ||

English

Even the inert objects are made to move and tremble like the vast and ever-changing world, filled with the tumultuous waves of the ocean.

जड़ वस्तुएं भी संसार की तरह चंचल और बदलती हुई दिखाई देती हैं, जो समुद्र की उथल-पुथल से भरी हुई हैं।

रत्नराशितटोद्दद्योतपीवरीकृतभास्करान् | शङ्खराशिविशद्वातशब्दतर्जितघुंघुमान् || १७ ||

ratnarāśitato’ddadyotapīvarīkṛtabhāskarān | śaṅkharāśiviśadvātaśabdatarjitaghuṅghumān || 17 ||

English

The shores gleam with the brilliance of precious gems, and the sound of the clear wind blowing through the conch shells creates a resonant hum.

तट रत्नों की चमक से जगमगा रहे हैं, और शंखों से होकर बहने वाली साफ हवा की आवाज से एक गूंजता हुआ स्वर उत्पन्न हो रहा है।

The fleshy waves create a roaring sound, and the circular motion of the vast, whirling trees adds to the tumultuous atmosphere.

The waves reflect the seven horses of the sun, creating an illusion of a thousand suns in the sky, while the turtles and crocodiles are submerged in the water.

The winds, causing the trees to bend, are uplifted by the splendor of the waves, and the sound of the waves is like the jingling of jewels scattered by the waves.

With various nets and strong arms, they touched the sun's disc, and the gems and jewels shone brightly, bowing and rising.

The mountains, which are like the branches of a tree trembling with fear of the pit, are being led to extreme diminution by the waves of the ocean.

English

The small gems placed in the sky appear like the rays of the sun, and the pure pearls released from the mouth of the oyster shells are scattered on the shore.

Sometimes, the shore adorned with sapphires and marked with hundreds of pearls and oyster shells displays the beauty of the moon's nails.

The waves, reflected in the gems and appearing like a net, turn the blooming gardens on the shore into a series of pictures.

English

The garland of fruits like ela, lavanga, kankola, etc., desired by the aquatic beings, was dropped by the creeper of the shore and was enjoyed by the aquatic beings.

एला, लवंग, कंकोल आदि फलों की माला, जिसे जलचर प्राणी चाहते थे, तट की लता से गिर गई और जलचर प्राणियों द्वारा भोगी गई।

चूतनीपकदम्बाग्रविहगान्प्रतिबिम्बितान् | भुञ्जानैर्विप्रलम्भेन कृताच्छोटाञ्जलेचरैः || ३२ ||

cūtanīpakadambāgravihagānpratibimbitān | bhuñjānairvipralambhena kṛtācchoṭāñjalecaraiḥ || 32 ||

English

The birds perched on the tops of mango, nīpa, and kadamba trees were reflected in the water, and the aquatic beings enjoyed this deceptive sight, creating a beautiful scene.

The formless reflections of the three worlds in the heart appeared like the four expansive Narayanas in the directions.

The sky, with its profound depth, purity, and expansive splendor, seems to swallow and reveal the reflection as if from the heart.

jalacārivihaṅgānāṃ sākāśaṃ pratibimbitam | āśayairdadhataḥ sāraiḥ padmānbhṛṅgamivātmagam || 36 ||

English

The reflection of aquatic birds in the sky, bearing the essence of their desires, like a bee entering a lotus.

जलचर पक्षियों का आकाश में प्रतिबिम्बित होना, जो अपनी इच्छाओं की सार को धारण करता है, जैसे भौंरा कमल में प्रवेश करता है।

The waves, struck by the winds, are like the deep roars of the caves, resembling the clouds at the end of the world.
