śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | atha tāṃ manasā dhyāyaṃstatraivāmīlitekṣaṇaḥ | ārabdhavānmanorājyamidamekaḥ kilośanā || 1 ||
Shri Vasishtha said: Then, meditating on her with his eyes closed, he began to rule the kingdom alone, as it were, with these words:
श्री वसिष्ठ ने कहा: तब, उस पर मन लगाकर और आँखें बंद करके, उसने ये शब्द कहकर अकेले ही राज्य का शासन शुरू किया:
एषा हि ललना व्योम्नि सहस्रनयनालये | संप्राप्तोऽयमहं स्वर्गमालोलसुरसुन्दरम् || २ ||
eṣā hi lalanā vyomni sahasranayanālaye | saṃprāpto'yamahaṃ svargamālolasurasundaram || 2 ||
This beautiful woman is indeed in the sky, the abode of the thousand-eyed (Indra). I have attained this beautiful, swaying heaven.
यह सुंदर स्त्री वास्तव में आकाश में है, सहस्र नेत्रों वाले (इंद्र) के निवास स्थान पर। मैंने इस सुंदर, हिलते-डुलते स्वर्ग को प्राप्त किया है।
इमे ते मृदुमन्दारकुसुमोत्तंससुन्दराः | द्रवत्कनकनिष्यन्दविलासिवपुषः सुराः || ३ ||
ime te mṛdumandārakusumottamsasundarāḥ | dravatkanakaniṣyandavilāsivapuṣaḥ surāḥ || 3 ||
These are the beautiful gods with soft and lovely Mandara flower garlands, whose bodies are adorned with flowing golden ornaments.
ये वे सुंदर देवता हैं जिनके मृदु और प्यारे मंदार फूलों के हार हैं, जिनके शरीर बहते हुए सोने के आभूषणों से सजे हुए हैं।
इमास्ता लोचनोल्लासदृष्टनीलाब्जदृष्टयः | मुग्धहासविलासिन्यः कान्ता हरिणदृष्टयः || ४ ||
imāstā locanollāsadṛṣṭanīlābjadṛṣṭayaḥ | mugdhahāsavilāsinyaḥ kāntā hariṇadṛṣṭayaḥ || 4 ||
These are the beloved women with eyes that sparkle like blue lotuses, charming with their innocent smiles and graceful movements, and with eyes like those of a deer.
ये वे प्रिय स्त्रियाँ हैं जिनकी आँखें नीले कमल की तरह चमकती हैं, जो अपनी मासूम मुस्कान और सुंदर अंदाज से मोहक हैं, और जिनकी आँखें हिरण की तरह हैं।
इमे ते कौसुमोद्योता अन्योन्यप्रतिबिम्बिताः | विश्वरूपोपमाकारा मरुतो मत्तकाशिनः || ५ ||
ime te kausumodyotā anyonyapratibimbitāḥ | viśvarūpopamākārā maruto mattakāśinaḥ || 5 ||
These are the Maruts, shining with the brilliance of flowers, reflecting each other's splendor, resembling the form of the universe, and shining brightly.
ये वे मरुत हैं, जो फूलों की चमक से चमकते हैं, एक-दूसरे की शोभा को प्रतिबिंबित करते हैं, ब्रह्मांड के रूप की तरह दिखते हैं, और चमकदार हैं।
ऐरावणकटामोदविरक्तमधुपश्रुताः | इमास्ताः काकलीगीता गीर्वाणगणगीतयः || ६ ||
airāvaṇakaṭāmodaviraktamadhupaśrutāḥ | imāstāḥ kākalīgītā gīrvāṇagaṇagītayaḥ || 6 ||
These are the songs of the Gandharvas, which are sweet like the fragrance of the Airavana elephant, devoid of intoxicating honey, and heard by the gods.
ये गंधर्वों के गीत हैं, जो ऐरावण हाथी की सुगंध के समान मधुर हैं, मदिरा से रहित हैं, और देवताओं द्वारा सुने जाते हैं।
इयं सा कनकाम्भोजचलद्वैरिञ्चसारसा | मन्दाकिनीतटोद्यानविश्रान्तसुरनायका || ७ ||
iyam sā kanakāmbhojacaladvairiñcasārasā | mandākinītaṭodyānaviśrāntasuranāyakā || 7 ||
This is the golden lotus, which is the abode of the moving Indra, resting in the garden on the banks of the Mandakini river, where the lord of the gods resides.
यह स्वर्ण कमल है, जो चलते हुए इंद्र का निवास है, मंदाकिनी नदी के किनारे के उद्यान में विश्राम करता है, जहाँ देवताओं के स्वामी निवास करते हैं।
एते ते यमचन्द्रेन्द्रसूर्यानलजलानिलाः | लोकपालास्तनुद्योतकीर्णदीप्तानलार्चिषः || ८ ||
ete te yamacandrendrasūryānalajalānilāḥ | lokapālāstanudyotakīrṇadīptānalārciṣaḥ || 8 ||
These are the guardians of the directions: Yama, Chandra, Indra, Surya, Agni, Varuna, and Vayu, whose bodies are adorned with the radiant flames of fire.
ये दिशाओं के रक्षक हैं: यम, चंद्र, इंद्र, सूर्य, अग्नि, वरुण, और वायु, जिनके शरीर अग्नि की चमकीली लपटों से सजे हुए हैं।
अयं स रणवृत्तान्तहेतिकण्डूयिताननः | ऐरावणो रणे दन्तप्रोतदैत्येन्द्रमण्डलः || ९ ||
ayaṃ sa raṇavṛttāntahetikaṇḍūyitānanaḥ | airāvaṇo raṇe dantaprotadaityendramāṇḍalaḥ || 9 ||
This is Airavana, whose face is itching with the desire to narrate the events of the battle, and who, in the battle, is surrounded by the army of the demon king with broken tusks.
यह ऐरावण है, जिसका चेहरा युद्ध की घटनाओं को बयान करने की इच्छा से खुजला रहा है, और जो युद्ध में टूटे हुए दाँतों वाले दैत्य राजा की सेना से घिरा हुआ है।
इमे ते भूतलस्थानाद्व्योम्नि तारकतां गताः | वैमानिकाश्चरच्चारुचामीकरमयातपाः || १० ||
ime te bhūtalasthānādvyomni tārakatāṃ gatāḥ | vaimānikāścaraccārucāmīkaramayātapāḥ || 10 ||
These are the celestial beings who have risen from the earth to the sky and become stars, moving gracefully in their aerial vehicles, shining with the brilliance of gold.
ये वे दिव्य प्राणी हैं जो पृथ्वी से आकाश में उठकर तारे बन गए हैं, अपने वायुयानों में सुंदर रूप से चलते हुए, सोने की चमक से चमकते हुए।
मेरूषलतलास्फालसीकराकीर्णदेवताः | एतास्ताः कीर्णमन्दारा गङ्गासलिलवीचयः || ११ ||
merūṣalatalāsphālasīkarākīrṇadevatāḥ | etāstāḥ kīrṇamandārā gaṅgāsalilavīcayaḥ || 11 ||
The gods, adorned with the pollen of the Meru mountain, are these very scattered Mandara flowers, the waves of the Ganges.
मेरु पर्वत के पुष्प रज से सुशोभित देवताएँ ये ही बिखरे हुए मन्दार फूल हैं, गंगा की लहरें।
एताः प्रसृतमन्दारमञ्जरीपुञ्जपिञ्जराः | दोलालोलाप्सरःश्रेण्यः शक्रोपवनवीथयः || १२ ||
etāḥ prasṛtamandāramañjarīpuñjapiñjarāḥ | dolālolāpsaraḥśreṇyaḥ śakropavanavīthayaḥ || 12 ||
These are the clusters of blooming Mandara flower buds, the rows of swinging Apsaras, and the paths of Indra's garden.
ये खिले हुए मन्दार फूलों के गुच्छे हैं, झूलती हुई अप्सराओं की पंक्तियाँ, और इन्द्र के उद्यान के मार्ग।
इमे ते कुन्दमन्दारमकरन्दसुगन्धयः | चन्द्रांशुनिकराकाराः पारिजातसमीरणाः || १३ ||
ime te kundamandāramakarandasugandhayaḥ | candrāṃśunikarākārāḥ pārijātasamīraṇāḥ || 13 ||
These are the fragrant Kunda and Mandara flowers, resembling the rays of the moon, and the breezes from the Pārijāta tree.
ये सुगंधित कुन्द और मन्दार फूल हैं, जो चंद्रमा की किरणों के समान हैं, और पारिजात वृक्ष से आने वाली हवाएँ।
पुष्पकेसरनीहारपटवासरणोत्सुकैः | लताङ्गनागणैर्व्याप्तमिदं तन्नन्दनं वनम् || १४ ||
puṣpakesaranīhārapaṭavāsaraṇotsukaiḥ | latāṅganāgaṇairvyāptamidaṃ tannandanaṃ vanam || 14 ||
This Nandana garden is filled with the eager bees seeking the nectar from the flower filaments and the fragrance of the blossoms.
यह नन्दन उद्यान फूलों के केसर और सुगंध को ढूँढ़ती हुई उत्सुक भौंरों से भरा हुआ है।
कान्तगीतरवानन्दप्रनर्तितसुराङ्गनौ | इमौ तौ वल्लकीस्निग्धस्वरौ नारदतुम्बुरू || १५ ||
kāntagītaravānandapranartitasurāṅganau | imau tau vallakīsnigdhasvarau nāradatumburū || 15 ||
These are the two celestial musicians, Narada and Tumburu, with their melodious voices, delighting the celestial maidens with their enchanting songs and dances.
ये दो दिव्य संगीतकार, नारद और तुम्बुरु, हैं, जिनके मधुर स्वर से दिव्य अप्सराओं को अपने मोहक गीतों और नृत्यों से आनंदित करते हैं।
इमे ते पुण्यकर्तारो भूरिभूषणभूषिताः| व्योमन्युड्डीयमानेषु विमानेषु च संस्थिताः || १६ ||
ime te puṇyakartāro bhūribhūṣaṇabhūṣitāḥ| vyomanyuḍḍīyamāneṣu vimāneṣu ca saṃsthitāḥ || 16 ||
These virtuous beings, adorned with many ornaments, are seated in aerial vehicles that move through the sky.
ये पुण्यात्मा पुरुष बहुत से आभूषणों से सुशोभित हैं और आकाश में उड़ने वाले विमानों में बैठे हैं।
मदमन्मथमत्ताङ्ग्य इमास्ताः सुरयोषितः| देवेश्वरं निषेवन्ते वनं वनलता इव || १७ ||
madamanmathamattāṅgya imāstāḥ surayoṣitaḥ| deveśvaraṃ niṣevante vanaṃ vanalatā iva || 17 ||
These divine women, intoxicated with the joy of love, serve the Lord of the gods like creepers in a forest.
ये देवांगनाएँ, प्रेम की मदिरा से मत्त, देवेश्वर की सेवा करती हैं जैसे वन में लताएँ।
इन्द्राश्मजालकुसुमाश्चिन्तामणिगुलुच्छकाः| कल्पवृक्षा इमे पक्वफलस्तबकदन्तुराः || १८ ||
indrāśmajālakusumāścintāmaṇigulucchakāḥ| kalpavṛkṣā ime pakvaphalastabakadanturāḥ || 18 ||
These wish-fulfilling trees have flowers like clusters of precious stones and are laden with ripe fruits and blossoms.
ये कल्पवृक्ष रत्नों के गुच्छों जैसे फूलों से सुशोभित हैं और पके हुए फलों और खिले हुए फूलों से भरे हुए हैं।
इह तावदिमं शक्रमहमासनसंस्थितम्| द्वितीयमिव त्रैलोक्यस्रष्टारमभिवादये || १९ ||
iha tāvadimaṃ śakramahamāsanasansthitam| dvitīyamiva trailokyasraṣṭāramabhivādaye || 19 ||
Here, I bow to this Indra, seated on his throne, who appears like the second creator of the three worlds.
यहाँ, मैं इस इन्द्र को प्रणाम करता हूँ जो अपने आसन पर बैठे हैं और जो तीनों लोकों के दूसरे स्रष्टा के समान प्रतीत होते हैं।
इति संचिन्त्य शुक्रेण मनसैव शचीपतिः| तेनाभिवादितस्तत्र द्वितीय इव खे भृगुः || २० ||
iti saṃcintya śukreṇa manasaiva śacīpatiḥ| tenābhivāditastatra dvitīya iva khe bhṛguḥ || 20 ||
Thus, thinking in his mind, Shukra bowed to Indra, the lord of Shachi, and was greeted by him in the sky as if he were the second Bhrigu.
इस प्रकार, मन में सोचकर, शुक्र ने शची के स्वामी इन्द्र को प्रणाम किया, और आकाश में उन्होंने उन्हें दूसरे भृगु के समान अभिवादन किया।
अथ सादरमुत्थाय शुक्रः शक्रेण पूजितः | गृहीतहस्त आनीय समीपमुपवेशितः || २१ ||
atha sādaramutthāya śukraḥ śakreṇa pūjitaḥ | gṛhītahasta ānīya samīpamupaveśitaḥ || 21 ||
Then, Shukra, having risen respectfully, was honored by Indra. Taking his hand, he was seated nearby.
तब, शुक्र सम्मानपूर्वक उठे और इंद्र द्वारा सम्मानित किए गए। उनका हाथ पकड़कर, उन्हें पास में बैठाया गया।
धन्यस्त्वदागमे नाथ स्वर्गोऽयं शुक्र शोभते | उष्यतां चिरमेवेह शक्र इत्थमुवाच तम् || २२ ||
dhanyastvadāgame nātha svargo'yaṃ śukra śobhate | uṣyatāṃ cirameveha śakra itthamuvāca tam || 22 ||
Blessed is your arrival, O Lord, this heaven shines with your presence. May you stay here for a long time, thus spoke Indra to him.
आपके आगमन से धन्य है, हे नाथ, यह स्वर्ग आपकी उपस्थिति से शोभित हो रहा है। आप यहाँ लंबे समय तक रहें, इंद्र ने उनसे ऐसा कहा।
अथ तत्रोपविश्यासौ भार्गवः शोभिताननः | श्रियं जहार शशिनः सकलस्यामलस्य च || २३ ||
atha tatroparviśyāsau bhārgavaḥ śobhitānanaḥ | śriyaṃ jahāra śaśinaḥ sakalasyāmalasya ca || 23 ||
Then, seated there, Bhargava with a radiant face stole the splendor of the spotless moon.
तब, वहाँ बैठे हुए, भार्गव का चेहरा चमक उठा और उन्होंने निर्मल चंद्रमा की शोभा को चुरा लिया।
सकलसुरगणाभिवन्दितोऽसौ भृगुतनयः शतमन्युपार्श्वसंस्थः | चिरतरमतुलामवाप तुष्टिं नरपतिसत्तमलालनं बभूव || २४ ||
sakalasuragaṇābhivandito'sau bhṛgutanayaḥ śatamanyupārśvasaṃsthaḥ | cirataramatulāmavāpa tuṣṭiṃ narapatisattamalālanaṃ babhūva || 24 ||
He, the son of Bhrigu, was worshipped by all the gods and stood by the side of Shatamanyu. He attained unparalleled satisfaction and became the beloved of the best of kings.
वह, भृगु के पुत्र, सभी देवताओं द्वारा पूजित थे और शतमन्यु के पास खड़े थे। उन्होंने अनुपम संतुष्टि प्राप्त की और राजाओं में श्रेष्ठ के प्रिय बने।
