श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच | जन्तोः कृतविचारस्य विगलद्वृत्तिचेतसः | मननं त्यजतो ज्ञात्वा किंचित्परिणतात्मनः || १ ||

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca | jantoḥ kṛtavicārasya vigaladvṛtticetasaḥ | mananaṃ tyajato jñātvā kiṃcitpariṇatātmanaḥ || 1 ||

English

Sri Vasistha said: For the one who has contemplated and whose mind is free from worldly thoughts, who has abandoned thinking and has realized the self to some extent.

हिन्दी

श्री वसिष्ठ ने कहा: जो व्यक्ति विचार कर चुका है और जिसका मन वृत्तियों से मुक्त हो गया है, जो सोचना छोड़ चुका है और जिसने आत्मा को कुछ हद तक जान लिया है।

दृश्यं संत्यजतो हेयमुपादेयमुपेयुषः | द्रष्टारं पश्यतो दृश्यमद्रष्टारमपश्यतः || २ ||

dṛśyaṃ saṃtyajato heyamupādeyamupeyuṣaḥ | draṣṭāraṃ paśyato dṛśyamadraṣṭāramapaśyataḥ || 2 ||

English

For the one who abandons the seen, which is to be rejected, and seeks the acceptable, who sees the seer and not the seen.

हिन्दी

जो देखने योग्य को छोड़ देता है, जो त्याज्य है, और ग्रहणीय की खोज करता है, जो देखने वाले को देखता है और देखने योग्य को नहीं देखता।

जागर्तव्ये परे तत्त्वे जागरूकस्य जीवतः | सुप्तस्य घनसंमोहमये संसारवर्त्मनि || ३ ||

jāgartavye pare tattve jāgarūkasya jīvataḥ | suptasya ghanasaṃmohamaye saṃsāravartmani || 3 ||

English

One should be awake in the supreme reality, being vigilant while living. For the one who is asleep in the dense illusion of the worldly path.

हिन्दी

एक को परम तत्व में जाग्रत होना चाहिए, जीवन में सतर्क रहते हुए। जो संसार के घने भ्रम में सोया हुआ है।

पर्यन्तात्यन्तवैराग्यात्सरसेष्वरसेष्वपि | भोगेष्वाभोगरम्येषु विरक्तस्य निराशिषः || ४ ||

paryantātyantavairāgyātsaraseṣvaraseṣvapi | bhogeṣvābhogaramyeṣu viraktasya nirāśiṣaḥ || 4 ||

English

Due to complete detachment, even in the most enjoyable pleasures, in the delightful experiences of enjoyment, for the one who is detached and without desire.

हिन्दी

पूर्ण वैराग्य के कारण, सबसे आनंददायक भोगों में भी, भोग के आनंददायक अनुभवों में, जो विरक्त है और इच्छा रहित है।

व्रजत्यात्माम्भसैकत्वं जीर्णंजाड्ये नभस्यलम् | गलत्यपगतासङ्गे हिमापूर इवातपे || ५ ||

vrajatyātmāmbhasaikatvaṃ jīrṇaṃjāḍye nabhasyalam | galatyapagatāsaṅge himāpūra ivātape || 5 ||

English

The self merges into the oneness of the sky, in the worn-out inertia, in the sky. It melts like a snowball in the sun, free from attachment.

हिन्दी

आत्मा आकाश की एकता में विलीन हो जाती है, पुरानी जड़ता में, आकाश में। यह आसक्ति से मुक्त होकर सूर्य में बर्फ की गेंद की तरह पिघल जाती है।

तरङ्गितासु कल्लोलजललोलान्तरासु च शाम्यन्तीष्वथ तृष्णासु नदीष्विव घनात्यये || ६ ||

taraṅgitāsu kallolajalalolāntarāsu ca śāmyantīṣvatha tṛṣṇāsu nadīṣviva ghanātyaye || 6 ||

English

Just as the waves of the river subside during the rainy season, so too do desires subside in the heart.

हिन्दी

जैसे बारिश के मौसम में नदी की लहरें शांत हो जाती हैं, वैसे ही इच्छाएँ हृदय में शांत हो जाती हैं।

संसारवासनाजाले खगजाल इवाखुना त्रोटिते हृदयग्रन्थौ श्लथे वैराग्यरंहसा || ७ ||

saṃsāravāsanājāle khagajāla ivākhunā troṭite hṛdayagranthau ślathe vairāgyaraṃhasā || 7 ||

English

In the web of worldly desires, the heart's knot is cut like a mouse gnawing through a net of birds.

हिन्दी

संसार की वासनाओं के जाल में, हृदय का ग्रंथि कट जाता है जैसे चूहा पक्षियों के जाल को काटता है।

कातकं फलमासाद्य यथा वारि प्रसीदति तथा विज्ञानवशतः स्वभावः संप्रसीदति || ८ ||

kātakaṃ phalamāsādya yathā vāri prasīdati tathā vijñānavashataḥ svabhāvaḥ saṃprasīdati || 8 ||

English

Just as water becomes clear upon obtaining the fruit of the kataka tree, so too does one's nature become clear through the power of knowledge.

हिन्दी

जैसे कटक के फल को प्राप्त करने पर पानी साफ हो जाता है, वैसे ही ज्ञान के प्रभाव से स्वभाव साफ हो जाता है।

नीरागं निरुपासङ्गं निर्द्वन्द्वं निरुपाश्रयम् विनिर्याति मनो मोहाद्विहगः पञ्जरादिव || ९ ||

nīrāgaṃ nirupāsaṅgaṃ nirdvandvaṃ nirupāśrayam viniryāti mano mohādvihaagaḥ pañjarādiva || 9 ||

English

The mind, free from attachment, free from longing, free from duality, and free from dependence, escapes from delusion like a bird from a cage.

हिन्दी

मन, आसक्ति से मुक्त, लालसा से मुक्त, द्वंद्व से मुक्त, और आश्रय से मुक्त, मोह से निकल जाता है जैसे पक्षी पिंजरे से निकल जाता है।

शान्ते संदेहदौरात्म्ये गतकौतुकविभ्रमम् परिपूर्णान्तरं चेतः पूर्णेन्दुरिव राजते || १० ||

śānte saṃdehadaurātmye gatakautukavibhramam paripūrṇāntaraṃ cetaḥ pūrṇenduriva rājate || 10 ||

English

When doubts and self-deprecation are calmed, and curiosity and confusion are gone, the mind shines like a full moon.

हिन्दी

जब संदेह और आत्म-निंदा शांत हो जाती है, और उत्सुकता और भ्रम चले जाते हैं, तब मन पूर्ण चंद्रमा की तरह चमकता है।

जनितोत्तमसौन्दर्या दूरादस्तमयोन्नता | समतोदेति सर्वत्र शान्ते वात इवार्णवे || ११ ||

janitottamasaundaryā dūrādastamayonnatā | samatodeti sarvatra śānte vāta ivārṇave || 11 ||

English

Born with supreme beauty, rising from afar like the setting sun, it shines equally everywhere like the calm ocean in the wind.

हिन्दी

उत्तम सौन्दर्य से जन्म लेकर, दूर से अस्त होती सूर्य की तरह उठती हुई, यह हर जगह बराबर चमकती है जैसे शान्त समुद्र में हवा।

अन्धकारमयी मूका जाड्यजर्जरितान्तरा | तनुत्वमेति संसारवासनेवोदये क्षपा || १२ ||

andhakāramayī mūkā jāḍyajarjaritāntarā | tanutvameti saṃsāravāsanevodaye kṣapā || 12 ||

English

Darkness embodied, silent, with a dull and decaying interior, it becomes thin like the worldly desires at the dawn of night.

हिन्दी

अंधकार से भरी, मौन, मंद और सड़ती हुई अंतरात्मा से, यह रात के उदय पर संसारिक इच्छाओं की तरह पतली हो जाती है।

दृष्टचिद्भास्करा प्रज्ञापद्मिनी पुण्यपल्लवा | विकसत्यमलोद्योता प्रातर्द्यौरिव रूपिणी || १३ ||

dṛṣṭacidbhāskarā prajñāpadminī puṇyapallavā | vikasatyamalodyotā prātardyauriva rūpiṇī || 13 ||

English

Seen as the sun of consciousness, the lotus of wisdom with meritorious leaves, it blooms with pure radiance like the morning sky.

हिन्दी

चेतना के सूर्य के रूप में देखा जाता है, पुण्य के पत्तों वाला ज्ञान का कमल, यह शुद्ध चमक के साथ सुबह के आकाश की तरह खिलता है।

प्रज्ञा हृदयहारिण्यो भुवनाह्लादनक्षमाः | सत्त्वलब्धाः प्रवर्धन्ते सकलेन्दोरिवांशवः || १४ ||

prajñā hṛdayahāriṇyo bhuvanāhlādanakṣamāḥ | sattvalabdhāḥ pravardhante sakalendorivāṃśavaḥ || 14 ||

English

Wisdom, the captivator of hearts, capable of delighting the world, grows through the attainment of purity, like the rays of the full moon.

हिन्दी

ज्ञान, हृदयों को हरने वाला, संसार को आह्लादित करने में सक्षम, शुद्धता के प्राप्ति से बढ़ता है, पूर्णिमा के चंद्रमा की किरणों की तरह।

बहुनात्र किमुक्तेन ज्ञातज्ञेयो महामतिः | नोदेति नैव यात्यस्तमभूताकाशकोशवत् || १५ ||

bahunātra kimukthena jñātajñeyo mahāmatiḥ | nōdeti naiva yātyastamabhūtākāśakośavat || 15 ||

English

What more can be said here? The wise one who knows the knowable does not rise nor set, like the infinite sky.

हिन्दी

यहाँ और क्या कहा जा सकता है? ज्ञानी जो ज्ञेय को जानता है, वह न उगता है न अस्त होता है, अनंत आकाश की तरह।

विचारणा परिज्ञातस्वभावस्योदितात्मनः | अनुकम्प्या भवन्तीह ब्रह्मविष्ण्विन्द्रशंकराः || १६ ||

vicāraṇā parijñātasvabhāvasyoditātmanaḥ | anukampyā bhavantīha brahmaviṣṇvindraśaṅkarāḥ || 16 ||

English

Those who have realized their true nature through contemplation become compassionate and are revered as Brahma, Vishnu, Indra, and Shankara.

हिन्दी

जो विचारणा से अपने स्वभाव को परिज्ञात कर लेते हैं, वे अनुकम्पा से भरे होते हैं और ब्रह्मा, विष्णु, इंद्र और शंकर के रूप में पूजे जाते हैं।

प्रकटाकारमप्यन्तर्निरहंकारचेतसम् | नाप्नुवन्ति विकल्पास्तं मृगतृष्णामिवैणकाः || १७ ||

prakaṭākāramapyantarnirahaṅkāracetasam | nāpnuvanti vikalpāstaṁ mṛgatṛṣṇāmivaṇakāḥ || 17 ||

English

Those with a manifest form but an ego-free mind do not attain the dualities, just like deer chasing a mirage.

हिन्दी

जिनका रूप प्रकट है लेकिन मन अहंकार से मुक्त है, वे द्वैत को प्राप्त नहीं करते, जैसे हिरण मृगतृष्णा का पीछा करते हैं।

तरङ्गवदिमे लोकाः प्रयान्त्यायान्ति चेतसः | क्रोडीकुर्वन्ति चाज्ञं ते न ज्ञं मरणजन्मनी || १८ ||

taraṅgavadime lokāḥ prayāntyāyānti cetasaḥ | kroḍīkurvanti cājñaṁ te na jñaṁ maraṇajanmanī || 18 ||

English

Like waves, these worlds come and go in the mind. They embrace the ignorant but not the wise, in the cycles of birth and death.

हिन्दी

तरंगों की तरह, ये लोक मन में आते-जाते हैं। वे अज्ञानी को आलिंगन करते हैं, लेकिन ज्ञानी को नहीं, जन्म-मृत्यु के चक्र में।

आविर्भावतिरोभावौ संसारो नेतरक्रमः | इति ताभ्यां समालोको रमते स निबध्यते || १९ ||

āvirbhāvatirōbhāvau saṁsāro netarakramaḥ | iti tābhyāṁ samālōkō ramate sa nibadhyate || 19 ||

English

The world appears and disappears, not following any other order. Thus, one who sees this is bound by it and enjoys it.

हिन्दी

संसार प्रकट होता है और अदृश्य होता है, किसी अन्य क्रम का अनुसरण नहीं करता। इसलिए, जो इसे देखता है, वह इससे बंधा है और इसका आनंद लेता है।

न जायते न म्रियते कुम्भे कुम्भनभो यथा | भूषिते दूषिते वापि देहे तद्वदिहात्मवान् || २० ||

na jāyate na mriyate kumbhe kumbhanabho yathā | bhūṣite dūṣite vāpi dehe tadvadihātmavān || 20 ||

English

The self is not born nor does it die, just like the sky in a pot is not born nor does it die. Whether the body is adorned or defiled, the self remains unchanged.

हिन्दी

आत्मा न जन्म लेता है न मरता है, जैसे कुंभ में आकाश न जन्म लेता है न मरता है। चाहे शरीर सजाया जाए या खराब किया जाए, आत्मा अपरिवर्तित रहता है।

विवेक उदिते शीते मिथ्या भ्रममरूदिता | क्षीयते वासना साग्रे मृगतृष्णा मराविव || २१ ||

viveka udite śīte mithyā bhramamarūditā | kṣīyate vāsanā sāgre mṛgatṛṣṇā marāviva || 21 ||

English

When wisdom arises, the false illusion of the world is dispelled, just as the mirage disappears when the heat is gone.

हिन्दी

जब विवेक उदित होता है, तो मिथ्या भ्रम दूर हो जाता है, जैसे मृगतृष्णा मर जाती है।

कोऽहं कथमिदं चेति यावन्न प्रविचारितम् | संसाराडम्बरं तावदन्धकारोपमं स्थितम् || २२ ||

ko'haṃ kathamidaṃ ceti yāvanna pravicāritam | saṃsārāḍambaraṃ tāvadandhakāropamaṃ sthitam || 22 ||

English

Until one inquires, 'Who am I? How is this?' the grandeur of the world remains like darkness.

हिन्दी

जब तक कोई नहीं पूछता, 'मैं कौन हूँ? यह कैसे है?' तब तक संसार का आडम्बर अंधकार की तरह रहता है।

मिथ्याभ्रमभरोद्भूतं शरीरं पदमापदाम् | आत्मभावनया नेदं यः पश्यति स पश्यति || २३ ||

mithyābhramabharodbhūtaṃ śarīraṃ padamāpadām | ātmabhāvanayā nedaṃ yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 23 ||

English

The body, born out of false illusions, is the abode of joy and sorrow. One who sees this with self-realization truly sees.

हिन्दी

शरीर, जो मिथ्या भ्रम से उत्पन्न होता है, सुख और दुःख का आश्रय है। जो आत्म-भावना से इसे देखता है, वही सचमुच देखता है।

देशकालवशोत्थानि न ममेति गतभ्रमम् | शरीरे सुखदुःखानि यः पश्यति स पश्यति || २४ ||

deśakālavasotthāni na mameti gatabhramam | śarīre sukhaduḥkhāni yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 24 ||

English

One who sees the pleasures and pains in the body as not belonging to oneself, having overcome the illusion of time and place, truly sees.

हिन्दी

जो शरीर में सुख और दुःख को अपना नहीं मानता, समय और स्थान के भ्रम को दूर करके, वही सचमुच देखता है।

25

अपारपर्यन्तनभो दिक्कालादिक्रियान्वितम् | अहमेवेति सर्वत्र यः पश्यति स पश्यति || २५ ||

apāraparyantanabho dikkālādikriyānvitam | aham eveti sarvatra yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 25 ||

English

One who sees the self as pervading everything, from the endless sky to the directions and time, truly sees.

हिन्दी

जो आत्मा को अंतहीन आकाश से लेकर दिशाओं और समय तक सब में व्याप्त देखता है, वही सचमुच देखता है।

वालाग्रलक्षभागात्तु कोटिशः परिकल्पितात् | अहं सूक्ष्म इति व्यापी यः पश्यति स पश्यति || २६ ||

vālāgralakṣabhāgāttu koṭiśaḥ parikalpitāt | ahaṃ sūkṣma iti vyāpī yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 26 ||

English

One who sees the subtle Self, which is pervading, in the fraction of the tip of a hair, sees the truth.

हिन्दी

जो बाल के अग्र के अंश में सूक्ष्म आत्मा को व्यापक देखता है, वही सत्य को देखता है।

27

आत्मानमितरच्चैव दृष्ट्या नित्याविभिन्नया | सर्वं चिज्ज्योतिरेवेति यः पश्यति स पश्यति || २७ ||

ātmānamitaraccaiava dṛṣṭyā nityāvibhinnayā | sarvaṃ cijjyotireveti yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 27 ||

English

One who sees the Self and everything else as inseparable and eternal, sees the truth.

हिन्दी

जो आत्मा और सब कुछ को अभिन्न और नित्य देखता है, वही सत्य को देखता है।

सर्वशक्तिरनन्तात्मा सर्वभावान्तरस्थितः | अद्वितीयश्चिदित्यन्तर्यः पश्यति स पश्यति || २८ ||

sarvaśaktiranantātmā sarvabhāvāntarasthitaḥ | advitīyaścidityantaryaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 28 ||

English

One who sees the Self as all-powerful, infinite, dwelling within all beings, and non-dual, sees the truth.

हिन्दी

जो आत्मा को सर्वशक्तिमान, अनंत, सब भावों में स्थित, और अद्वैत देखता है, वही सत्य को देखता है।

आधिव्याधिभयोद्विग्नो जरामरणजन्मवान् | देहोऽहमिति यः प्राज्ञो न पश्यति स पश्यति || २९ ||

ādhiyādhibhayodvigno jarāmaraṇajanmavān | deho'hamiti yaḥ prājño na paśyati sa paśyati || 29 ||

English

One who is afflicted by mental and physical sufferings, old age, death, and birth, and thinks 'I am the body,' does not see the truth.

हिन्दी

जो मानसिक और शारीरिक पीड़ाओं, बुढ़ापे, मृत्यु, और जन्म से पीड़ित है, और सोचता है 'मैं शरीर हूँ,' वह सत्य को नहीं देखता।

तिर्यगूर्ध्वमधस्ताच्च व्यापको महिमा मम | द्वितीयो न ममास्तीति यः पश्यति स पश्यति || ३० ||

tiryagūrdhvamadhastācca vyāpako mahimā mama | dvitīyo na mamāstīti yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 30 ||

English

One who sees that my glory is all-pervading, above, below, and in all directions, and that there is no second, sees the truth.

हिन्दी

जो देखता है कि मेरी महिमा सर्वव्यापी है, ऊपर, नीचे, और सब दिशाओं में, और कि कोई दूसरा नहीं है, वह सत्य को देखता है।

मयि सर्वमिदं प्रोतं सूत्रे मणिगणा इवचित्तं तु नाहमेवेति यः पश्यति स पश्यति || ३१ ||

mayi sarvamidaṃ protaṃ sūtre maṇigaṇā ivacittaṃ tu nāhameveti yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 31 ||

English

All this is strung on Me, like pearls on a thread. He who sees this truly sees.

हिन्दी

यह सब मुझमें पिरोया हुआ है, मानो मणियाँ सूत्र में पिरोई हों। जो ऐसा देखता है, वही सचमुच देखता है।

32

नाहं न चान्यदस्तीति ब्रह्मैवास्ति निरामयमित्थं सदसतोर्मध्ये यः पश्यति स पश्यति || ३२ ||

nāhaṃ na cānyadastīti brahmaivāsti nirāmayamitthaṃ sadasatormadhye yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 32 ||

English

Neither I nor anything else exists; only Brahman exists, free from all impurities. He who sees this in the midst of the real and the unreal truly sees.

हिन्दी

न मैं हूँ न कोई और है; केवल ब्रह्म है, जो सभी दोषों से मुक्त है। जो सत् और असत् के बीच में ऐसा देखता है, वही सचमुच देखता है।

यन्नाम किंचित्त्रैलोक्यं स एवावयवो ममतरङ्गोऽब्धाविवेत्यन्तर्यः पश्यति स पश्यति || ३३ ||

yannāma kiṃcittrailokyaṃ sa evāvayavo mamataraṅgo'bdhāvivetyantaryaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 33 ||

English

Whatever exists in the three worlds is a part of Me, like waves in the ocean. The inner controller sees this and truly sees.

हिन्दी

तीनों लोकों में जो कुछ भी है, वह मेरा ही अंग है, मानो समुद्र में तरंगें। अंतर्यामी ऐसा देखता है और सचमुच देखता है।

शोच्या पाल्या मयैवेयं स्वसेयं मे कनीयसीत्रिलोकी पेलवेत्युच्चैर्यः पश्यति स पश्यति || ३४ ||

śocyā pālyā mayaiveyaṃ svaseyaṃ me kanīyasītrilokī pelavetyuccairyaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 34 ||

English

To be pitied and protected by Me alone, this entire universe is My own, the younger sister. He who sees this truly sees.

हिन्दी

मेरे द्वारा ही दया और सुरक्षा की जाने वाली, यह सारी सृष्टि मेरी ही छोटी बहन है। जो ऐसा देखता है, वही सचमुच देखता है।

आत्मतापरते त्वत्तामत्ते यस्य महात्मनःभवादुपरते नूनं स पश्यति सुलोचनः || ३५ ||

ātmatāparate tvattāmatte yasya mahātmanaḥbhavāduparate nūnaṃ sa paśyati sulocanaḥ || 35 ||

English

When the sense of self is directed towards You, the great Self, and all worldly attachments cease, then one truly sees with clear vision.

हिन्दी

जब आत्मा का ध्यान आपकी ओर, महान आत्मा की ओर होता है, और सभी संसारिक आसक्तियाँ समाप्त हो जाती हैं, तब वह सचमुच स्पष्ट दृष्टि से देखता है।

चेत्यानुपातरहितं चिद्भैरवमयं वपुः आपूरितजगज्जालं यः पश्यति स पश्यति || ३६ ||

cetyānupātarahitaṃ cidbhairavamayaṃ vapuḥ āpūritajagajjālaṃ yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati || 36 ||

English

One who sees the formless, consciousness-filled, divine essence pervading the entire universe truly sees.

हिन्दी

जो इस चेतना-भरे, निराकार, भैरव स्वरूप को सारे ब्रह्मांड में व्याप्त देखता है, वही सच्चा दर्शन करता है।

37

सुखं दुःखं भवो भावो विवेककलनाश्च याः अहमेवेति वा नूनं पश्यन्नपि न हीयते || ३७ ||

sukhaṃ duḥkhaṃ bhavo bhāvo vivekakalanāśca yāḥ ahamavevaiti vā nūnaṃ paśyannapi na hīyate || 37 ||

English

Whether experiencing happiness, sorrow, existence, or emotions, and even with the calculations of discernment, one who sees 'I am all this' does not diminish.

हिन्दी

चाहे सुख, दुःख, अस्तित्व, या भावनाएँ हों, और विवेक के गणनाओं के साथ, जो 'मैं ही सब कुछ हूँ' देखता है, वह कम नहीं होता।

स्वात्मसत्तापरापूर्णे जगत्यंशेन वर्तिना किं मे हेयं किमादेयमिति पश्यन्सुद्दङ्गरः || ३८ ||

svātmasattāparāpūrṇe jagatyaṃśena vartinā kiṃ me heyaṃ kimādeyamiti paśyansuddhaṅgaraḥ || 38 ||

English

In the world filled with the supreme essence of the self, what is there to reject or accept? The one who sees this is pure.

हिन्दी

स्वयं के सत्ता के परम आधार से भरे हुए जगत् में, क्या है जो छोड़ना है या लेना है? जो इसे देखता है, वह शुद्ध है।

अप्रतर्क्यमनाभासं सन्मात्रमिदमित्यलम् हेयोपादेयकलना यस्य क्षीणा स वै पुमान् || ३९ ||

apratarkyamanābhāsaṃ sanmātramidamityalam heyoādādeyakalanā yasya kṣīṇā sa vai pumān || 39 ||

English

That which is beyond reasoning, without any reflection, and is pure existence, that is enough. The one whose calculations of what to accept or reject are diminished is indeed a true person.

हिन्दी

जो तर्क से परे है, बिना किसी प्रतिबिंब के, और शुद्ध अस्तित्व है, वह पर्याप्त है। जिसके छोड़ने या लेने के गणनाओं का अंत हो गया है, वही सच्चा व्यक्ति है।

य आकाशवदेकात्मा सर्वभावगतोऽपि सन् न भावरञ्जनामेति स महात्मा महेश्वरः || ४० ||

ya ākāśavadekātmā sarvabhāvagato’pi san na bhāvarañjanāmeti sa mahātmā maheśvaraḥ || 40 ||

English

The one who, like the sky, is of a single essence and pervades all beings, yet does not become colored by any emotion, is the great soul, the great lord.

हिन्दी

जो आकाश की तरह एक सत्ता का है और सभी भावों में व्याप्त है, फिर भी किसी भाव से रंजित नहीं होता, वह महात्मा, महेश्वर है।

तमःप्रकाशकलनामुक्तः कालात्मतां गतः | यः सौम्यः सुसमः स्वस्थस्तं नौमि पदमागतम् || ४१ ||

tamaḥprakāśakalanāmuktaḥ kālātmatāṃ gataḥ | yaḥ saumyaḥ susamaḥ svasthatastam naumi padamāgatam || 41 ||

English

The one who has been described as the calculator of light and darkness has attained the nature of time. I bow to the one who is gentle, peaceful, and stable, and has reached the highest state.

हिन्दी

जो अंधेरे और प्रकाश का गणनकर्ता कहा गया है, वह समय की प्रकृति को प्राप्त हुआ है | मैं उस शांत, सुसंगत और स्वस्थ को प्रणाम करता हूँ जो उत्तम पद पर पहुंचा है || ४१ ||

यस्योदयास्तमयसंकलनाकलासु चित्रासु चारुविभवासु जगद्गतासु | वृत्तिः सदैव सकलैकमतेरनन्ता तस्मै नमः परमबोधवते शिवाय || ४२ ||

yasyodayāstamayasaṃkalanākalāsu citrāsu cāruvibhavāsu jagadgatāsu | vṛttiḥ sadaiva sakalaikamateranantā tasmai namaḥ paramabodhavate śivāya || 42 ||

English

To the one whose rise and set are calculated in various beautiful and wonderful forms in the world, whose nature is always infinite and singular, I bow to that supreme consciousness, Shiva.

जिसके उदय और अस्त की गणना विभिन्न सुंदर और अद्भुत रूपों में संसार में की जाती है, जिसकी प्रकृति हमेशा अनंत और एकमात्र है, मैं उस परम चेतना, शिव को प्रणाम करता हूँ || ४२ ||
