The individual soul, while experiencing the non-sentient, identifies itself with the Supreme Soul. The conscious being, while experiencing, remains as the individual soul.
This individual soul is indeed the Supreme Soul, experiencing the non-sentient. Just as a mango attains sweetness from its juice, so does the soul attain the qualities of the Supreme.
The conscious being, while experiencing, remains as the individual soul. The soul, worn out by life and birth, becomes decrepit in various forms and births.
Those who have attained the highest vision, their fate is like that of water. They constantly meditate on the formless, experiencing both motion and stillness.
ye parāṃ dṛṣṭimāyātā dṛśyaśrīpāradarśinaḥ | na vidyamānamapyasti teṣāṃ vedanamātatam || 15 ||
Those who have attained the highest vision see the beauty of the visible world. Even the non-existent becomes manifest to them, and their knowledge is expansive.
ye parāṃ dṛṣṭimāyātā viddhi teṣāmapāmiva| spandamaspandanaṃ sarvamavedanavaśādiha || 16 ||
Know that those who have attained the highest vision see everything as water| They perceive all movement and non-movement due to the influence of perception here
Those who have attained the highest vision and see beyond the cycle of existence| They do not praise actions, like living in a well while being in a river
ye baddhavāsanā mūḍhāḥ karma śaṃsanti te'nagha| śrutismṛtyucitaṃ tena vinābodhaṃ prayānti te || 19 ||
Those who are bound by desires and are foolish, they praise actions, O sinless one| By that, they go without understanding, contrary to the scriptures and memory
There is no gold in the ornament, nor is Brahman inherent in nature. Yet, the meaning of words like creation is spoken for the sake of reason, which is auspicious.
When the age ends and all activity ceases in the enveloping darkness, undivided and without appearance, just as in the mass of Brahman, so it is.
Just as in the womb of the cloud the limbs of the whirlwind are both moving and non-moving, so the being of all elements, whose essence is self-awareness, is the sovereign power.
Just as the parts of water within water are both dual and non-dual, so the Self, whose essence is self-awareness and which is vibrant, is the seer of all elements in Brahman.
Just as the parts of space within space, though appearing as dual and non-dual, shine as non-different creation, so in the partless Shiva, creation appears without distinction.
jīvanto'pi na jīvanti mriyante na mṛtā api | santo'pi ca na santīva pārāvāravidaḥ śubhāḥ || 29 ||
Even though they are alive, they do not live; even though they die, they do not die. Even though they exist, they do not exist, knowing the essence of the beyond.
Just as the moon is in the heart of Virat, and as it is situated in every body, the individual soul, like a particle of snow, is gross in the gross and subtle in the subtle.
cintānucintyamānāpi bhāvanīyāmbaropamā | ahaṃbhāvopaśamane śamanena krameṇa te || 39 ||
Even though thoughts are constantly contemplated, they should be meditated upon like the sky. For the pacification of the sense of 'I,' gradually calm them down.
dṛśyaṃ vinaśyatyakhilaṃ vinaṣṭaṃ jāyate punaḥ | yan na naṣṭaṃ na cotpannaṃ tatsad bhavati tad bhavān || 55 ||
All that is seen perishes, and what is perished is born again. That which is neither destroyed nor born, that is the eternal truth, O Bhavan.
bhāvajñaptirhi nirmūlā bhāvitāpi na vidyate | salilaṃ mṛgatṛṣṇeva na dadāti bhavāṅkuram || 56 ||
Indeed, the notion of existence is rootless; even when cultivated, it does not exist. Like a mirage, it does not produce the sprout of being.
Whether performing actions or not, the person who is free from desires and without afflictions, free from thoughts, eternally liberated, abides in the Self.
In the tranquility of the mind, the senses are tranquil, and the bonds of enjoyment are tranquil. Indeed, their mind is not diminished by its natural state.
That which is free from the illusion of existence, radiant, imperishable, attained peace, and is like an ignored lamp, even here, it shines with joy in the sky, following the Lord of the universe.
