śrīvālmīkiruvāca | upaśamaprakaraṇādanantaramidaṃ śrṇu | tvaṃ nirvāṇaprakaraṇaṃ jñātaṃ nirvāṇadāyi yat || 1 ||
Sri Valmiki said: Listen to this, which follows the chapter on peace. You have known the chapter on liberation, which grants liberation.
श्री वाल्मीकि ने कहा: शांति प्रकरण के बाद इसे सुनो | तुमने मोक्ष प्रकरण को जाना है, जो मोक्ष देता है।
कथयत्येवमुद्दामवचने मुनिनायके | श्रवणैकरसे मौनस्थिते राजकुमारके || २ ||
kathayatyevamuddāmavacane munināyake | śravaṇaikarase maunasthite rājakumārake || 2 ||
Thus, the supreme sage speaks with exalted words, while the prince remains silent, absorbed in listening.
इस प्रकार, परम ऋषि उद्दाम वचनों से कहते हैं, जबकि राजकुमार श्रवण में लीन मौन बैठा है।
मुनिवागर्थनिक्षिप्तमनस्यस्ततपःक्रिये | राजलोके गतस्पन्दे चित्रार्पित इव स्थिते || ३ ||
munivāgarthanikṣiptamanasyastatapḥkriye | rājaloke gataspande citrārpite iva sthite || 3 ||
With his mind absorbed in the meaning of the sage's words and engaged in austerities, the prince remains motionless in the royal court, as if painted in a picture.
ऋषि के वचनों के अर्थ में मन लगाए और तपस्या में लगे हुए, राजकुमार राजसभा में अचल, चित्र में चित्रित की तरह बैठा है।
वसिष्ठवचसामर्थं विचारयति सादरम् | लसदङ्गुलिभङ्गेन मुनिसार्थे स्फुरद्भुवि || ४ ||
vasiṣṭhavacasāmarthaṃ vicārayati sādaram | lasadaṅgulibhaṅgena munisārthe sphuradbhuv || 4 ||
He respectfully ponders the meaning of Vasistha's words, with his fingers slightly bent, shining on the earth for the sake of the sage.
वह वसिष्ठ के वचनों के अर्थ पर सम्मानपूर्वक विचार करता है, अपनी उँगलियों को थोड़ा मोड़कर, ऋषि के लिए पृथ्वी पर चमकता हुआ।
विस्मयालोकनोल्लासप्रोत्फुल्लनयनालिनि | पुरन्ध्रिवर्गे गम्भीरतरुमञ्जरितां गते || ५ ||
vismayālokanollāsaprotphullanayanālini | purandhrivarge gambhīratarumañjaritāṃ gate || 5 ||
With eyes wide open in wonder and joy, he remains in the assembly of noble women, as if in a deep, blossoming forest.
आश्चर्य और आनंद से खुली आँखों वाले, वह श्रेष्ठ महिलाओं की सभा में, गहरे, खिले हुए वन में स्थित की तरह बैठा है।
खे वासरचतुर्भागदेशे दिनकरे स्थिते किंचिज्ज्ञानोदयात्सौम्ये किंचिच्छममुपेयुषि || ६ ||
khe vāsaracaturbhāgadeśe dinakare sthite kiñcijjñānodayātsaumye kiñciśśamamupeyuṣi || 6 ||
In the sky, when the sun is in the fourth part of the day, there is a slight awakening of knowledge in the gentle breeze, and a slight peace is attained.
आकाश में, जब सूर्य दिन के चौथे भाग में होता है, तो सौम्य वायु में ज्ञान का कुछ उदय होता है और कुछ शांति प्राप्त होती है।
श्रवणायेव संशान्ते वितानस्पन्दमालिते मौनं मरुति मन्दारमधुरामोददायिनि || ७ ||
śravaṇāyeva saṃśānte vitānaspandamālite maunaṃ maruti mandāramadhurāmodadāyini || 7 ||
With the sound of the wind, the canopy is calm and swaying, and there is silence in the gentle breeze that brings the sweet fragrance of the mandara flowers.
हवा की आवाज से, छतरी शांत और हिलती हुई है, और सौम्य वायु में मन्दार फूलों की मीठी सुगंध लाती है।
पुष्पदामसुषुप्तासु महाभ्रमरपंक्तिषु ज्ञातज्ञेयतया नूनं सम्यग्ध्यानवतीष्विव || ८ ||
puṣpadāmasuṣuptāsu mahābhramarapaṃktiṣu jñātajñeyatayā nūnaṃ samyagdhyānavatīṣviva || 8 ||
In the sleeping garlands of flowers, the rows of great bees, as if in deep meditation, are known and knowable.
सोते हुए फूलों की मालाओं में, बड़ी भौंरों की पंक्तियाँ, जैसे गहरी ध्यान में हों, ज्ञात और ज्ञेय हैं।
मुक्ताजालकलापान्तर्गतास्वन्तरभूमिषु कचत्यपगतस्पन्दं तोये श्रोतुमिवास्थिते || ९ ||
muktājālakalāpāntargatāsvantarbhūmiṣu kacatyapagataspandaṃ toye śrotumivāsthite || 9 ||
In the inner realms within the network of pearls, the water is still, as if listening, without any movement.
मोती के जाल के अंतर्गत अंतर्भूमियों में, पानी शांत है, जैसे सुन रहा हो, किसी भी गति के बिना।
गृहान्तरं प्रविष्टेषु गवाक्षे दूरमंशुषु विश्रामार्थमिवादीर्घं नभःपान्थेषु शीतलम् || १० ||
gṛhāntaraṃ praviṣṭeṣu gavākṣe dūramṃśuṣu viśrāmārthamivādīrghaṃ nabhaḥpāntheṣu śītalam || 10 ||
In the distant rays of the window, the sky is cool, as if for the purpose of rest.
दूर की खिड़की की किरणों में, आकाश शीतल है, जैसे विश्राम के लिए।
मुक्ताजालप्रभाजालभस्मनोद्धूलितात्मनि | शंसतीव शमं शाम्यद्दिनदेहे दिवातपे || ११ ||
muktājālaprabhājālabhasmanoddhūlitātmani | śaṃsatīva śamaṃ śāmyaddinadehe divātape || 11 ||
In the body that is covered with the ashes of the pearl-like luster, it seems to praise the peace of the day, which is calmed by the heat of the day.
जिस शरीर पर मोती की चमक की राख छिटकी हुई है, वह दिन के ताप से शांत हुए दिन की शांति की प्रशंसा करता हुआ लगता है।
करे लीलासरोजेषु शेखरेषु च भूभृताम् | श्रुत्वा सुरसमामोदादवृत्तिषु मनस्स्विव || १२ ||
kare līlāsarojeṣu śekhareṣu ca bhūbhṛtām | śrutvā surasamāmōdādavṛttiṣu manassviva || 12 ||
Hearing the delightful fragrance of the playful lotuses in the hands and the crowns of the kings, it is as if the mind is absorbed in the divine fragrance.
राजाओं के हाथों और मुकुटों में खिले हुए कमलों की मनमोहक सुगंध सुनकर, मन को दिव्य सुगंध में डूबा हुआ लगता है।
बालकेष्वज्ञलोकेषु लीलापक्षिषु सादरम् | भोजनार्थं वधूलोकमुपरुन्धत्स्वनारतम् || १३ ||
bālakeṣvajñalokeṣu līlāpakṣiṣu sādaram | bhojanārthaṃ vadhūlokamuparundhatsvanāratam || 13 ||
In the innocent world of children, the playful birds respectfully surround the world of brides for the sake of food, continuously making sounds.
बच्चों की निर्दोष दुनिया में, खेल पक्षी भोजन के लिए दुल्हनों की दुनिया को सम्मानपूर्वक घेरते हुए, लगातार आवाज करते हैं।
भ्रमद्भ्रमरपक्षोत्थवातधूतरजस्यलम् | कौमुदे परिविश्रान्ते चामरेष्वक्षिपक्ष्मसु || १४ ||
bhramadbhramarapakṣotthavātadhūtarajasyalam | kaumude pariviśrānte cāmareṣvakṣipakṣmasu || 14 ||
The dust raised by the wings of the wandering bees is blown away by the wind, and it settles on the resting moonlight and the eyelashes of the yak-tail fans.
भटकती भौंरों के पंखों से उठी हुई धूल हवा से उड़कर विश्राम करते हुए चाँदनी और यक पुच्छ पंखों की पलकों पर जम जाती है।
रश्मिष्वगगुहोन्मुक्तच्छायाजालभयादिव | गवाक्षादिष्विवोड्डीय प्रविष्टेषु गृहान्तरम् || १५ ||
raśmiṣvagaguhonmuktacchāyājālabhayādiva | gavākṣādiṣvivōḍḍīya praviṣṭeṣu gṛhāntaram || 15 ||
As if fearing the net of shadows released from the rays of the sun, the light enters the house through the windows and other openings.
मानो सूर्य की किरणों से छूटे छाया के जाल से डरकर, प्रकाश खिड़कियों और अन्य खुली जगहों से घर में प्रवेश करता है।
आसीद्दिनचतुर्भागसत्तावेदनतत्परः | भेरीपटहशङ्खानां दिङ्मुखापूरको ध्वनिः || १६ ||
āsīddinacaturbhāgasattāvedanatatparaḥ | bherīpaṭahaśaṅkhānāṃ diṅmukhāpūrako dhvaniḥ || 16 ||
The day was one-fourth over, and the sound of drums, kettledrums, and conches filled the directions.
दिन का एक चौथाई हिस्सा बीत चुका था, और ढोल, नगाड़े और शंखों की आवाज सभी दिशाओं में फैल गई थी।
तेन तत्तारमप्याशु वचोऽन्तर्धानमाययौ | मौनं जलदनादेन मायूर इव निस्वनः || १७ ||
tena tattāramapyāśu vaco'ntardhānamāyayau | maunaṃ jaladanādena māyūra iva nisvanaḥ || 17 ||
By that, even the sound of the drums quickly disappeared, like the silence of a peacock's cry after the thunder.
उससे, ढोलों की आवाज भी जल्दी ही गायब हो गई, जैसे मेघ गरजने के बाद मोर की चुप्पी।
आक्षुब्धा क्षुब्धपक्षालिः पञ्जरस्था खगावली | भूकम्पे तरसाऽऽतालीपल्लवेव वनावली || १८ ||
ākṣubdhā kṣubdhapakṣāliḥ pañjarasthā khagāvalī | bhūkampe tarasā'tālīpallaveva vanāvalī || 18 ||
The birds in the cage, with their wings fluttering, became agitated, like the trembling leaves of a forest during an earthquake.
पिंजरे में बंद पक्षी, जिनके पंख फड़फड़ा रहे थे, भूकंप के समय के जंगल की पत्तियों की तरह अशांत हो गए।
आययुर्भयवित्रस्ता बाला धात्रीकुचान्तरम् | सारवं प्रावृषीवाब्दाः प्रोन्नतं श्रृङ्गकोटरम् || १९ ||
āyayurbhayavitrastā bālā dhātrīkucāntaram | sāravaṃ prāvṛṣīvābdāḥ pronnataṃ śrṛṅgakoṭaram || 19 ||
The frightened children rushed into the nurse's bosom, like the swollen rivers flowing into the raised peaks during the rainy season.
डरे हुए बच्चे धाय के वक्ष में भागे, जैसे बरसात के समय उफनती नदियाँ ऊँची पहाड़ियों में बहती हैं।
उत्तस्थुरवतंसेभ्यो भूभृतां भ्रमरस्रजः | ईषत्करालवाहाभ्यः सरिद्भ्योऽम्बुकणा इव || २० ||
uttasthuravataṃsebhyo bhūbhṛtāṃ bhramarasrajaḥ | īṣatkarālavāhābhyaḥ saridbhyo'mbukaṇā iva || 20 ||
The bees rose from the lotuses, like water droplets from the slightly turbulent rivers.
भौंरे कमलों से उठे, जैसे थोड़े उफनती नदियों से पानी की बूँदें।
एवं प्रक्षुभिते तस्मिन्गृहे दाशरथे तदा | प्राप्ते वासरवृद्धत्वे शान्तशङ्खस्वने शनैः || २१ ||
evaṃ prakṣubhite tasmingṛhe dāśarathe tadā | prāpte vāsaravṛddhatve śāntaśaṅkhasvane śanaiḥ || 21 ||
Thus, in the agitated house of Dasharatha at that time, when the day had advanced and the sound of the conch shells had subsided gradually.
इस प्रकार, उस समय दशरथ के उस घर में जब दिन बढ़ चुका था और शंख की ध्वनि धीरे-धीरे शान्त हो गई थी।
संहरन्प्रस्तुतं वस्तु वचो मधुरवृत्तिमत् | उवाच मुनिशार्दूलः सभामध्ये रघूद्वहम् || २२ ||
saṃharanprastutaṃ vastu vaco madhuravṛttimat | uvāca muniśārdūlaḥ sabhāmadhye raghūdvaham || 22 ||
Withdrawing the subject matter at hand, the sage with sweet speech spoke to Rama in the midst of the assembly.
प्रस्तुत विषय को समाप्त करते हुए, मधुर वाणी वाले मुनिश्रेष्ठ ने सभा के मध्य में रघुनाथ से कहा।
राघवानघ वाग्जालं मयैतत्प्रविसारितम् | तेन चित्तखगं बद्ध्वा क्रोडीकृत्यात्मतां नय || २३ ||
rāghavānagha vāgjālaṃ mayaitatpravisāritam | tena cittakhagaṃ baddhvā kroḍīkṛtyātmatāṃ naya || 23 ||
O blameless Raghava, this web of words has been spread by me. By binding the mind-bird with it, bring it to your self.
हे निष्पाप रघुनाथ, यह वाणी का जाल मैंने फैलाया है। इससे मन-पक्षी को बाँधकर, इसे अपने में ले आओ।
कच्चिद्गृहीतो भवता मद्गिरामर्थ ईदृशः | त्यक्त्वा दुर्बोधमक्षीणो हंसेनेवाम्भसः पयः || २४ ||
kaccidgṛhīto bhavatā madgirāmartha īdṛśaḥ | tyaktvā durbodhamakṣīṇo haṃsenevāmbhasaḥ payaḥ || 24 ||
I hope you have grasped the meaning of my words in this manner, leaving aside the difficult to understand, like a swan separates milk from water.
मुझे आशा है कि आपने मेरे शब्दों के इस अर्थ को ग्रहण कर लिया है, दुर्बोध को छोड़कर, जैसे हंस पानी से दूध अलग करता है।
विचार्यैतदशेषेण स्वधियैवं पुनःपुनः | अनेनैव पथा साधो गन्तव्यं भवताधुना || २५ ||
vicāryaitadśeṣeṇa svadhiyaivaṃ punaḥpunaḥ | anenaiva pathā sādho gantavyaṃ bhavatādhunā || 25 ||
Having considered this completely with your own intellect again and again, O virtuous one, you should now proceed by this very path.
इसे पूर्ण रूप से अपनी बुद्धि से बार-बार विचार कर, हे साधु, आपको अब इसी मार्ग से आगे बढ़ना चाहिए।
अनयैव धिया राम विहरन्नैव बध्यसे | अन्यथाधः पतस्याशु विन्ध्यखाते यथा गजः || २६ ||
anayaiva dhiyā rāma viharannaiava badhyase | anyathādhaḥ patasyāśu vindhyakhāte yathā gajaḥ || 26 ||
O Rama, with this very intellect, you will not be bound by enjoying | Otherwise, you will fall down quickly like an elephant in the pit of Vindhya || 26 ||
हे राम, इसी बुद्धि से आनंद लेकर भी तुम बंधन में नहीं आओगे | अन्यथा तुम शीघ्र ही विंध्य के गड्ढे में गिरोगे जैसे हाथी || २६ ||
सुगृहीतं धिया राम मद्वचो न करोषि चेत् | तत्पतस्यवटे त्यक्तदीपो वान्धो निशास्विव || २७ ||
sugṛhītaṃ dhiyā rāma madvaco na karoṣi cet | tatpatasyavāṭe tyaktadīpo vāndho niśāsviv || 27 ||
O Rama, if you do not accept my words with a well-grasped intellect | Then you will fall like a blind man in the night without a lamp || 27 ||
हे राम, यदि तुम अच्छी तरह से समझी हुई बुद्धि से मेरे शब्दों को नहीं मानते | तो तुम रात में दीपक के बिना अंधे की तरह गिरोगे || २७ ||
असङ्गेन यथाप्राप्तो व्यवहारोऽस्य सिद्धये | इत्येव शास्त्रसिद्धान्तमादायोदारवान्भव || २८ ||
asaṅgena yathāprāpto vyavahāro'sya siddhaye | ityeva śāstrasiddhāntamādāyodāravānbhava || 28 ||
Act without attachment, as it comes naturally, for the accomplishment of your duty | Thus, following the principles of the scriptures, be generous || 28 ||
बिना आसक्ति के, जैसे प्राप्त हो, अपने कर्तव्य की सिद्धि के लिए कार्य करो | इस प्रकार, शास्त्रों के सिद्धांतों को लेकर, उदार बनो || २८ ||
हे सभ्या हे महाराज रामलक्ष्मणभूमिपाः | सर्व एव भवन्तोऽद्य तावद्व्यापारमाह्निकम् || २९ ||
he sabyā he mahārāja rāmalakṣmaṇabhūmipāḥ | sarva eva bhavanto'dya tāvadvyāpāramāhnikam || 29 ||
O noble ones, O great king, O rulers of the land of Rama and Lakshmana | All of you, today, engage in the daily activities || 29 ||
हे सभ्य, हे महाराज, हे राम और लक्ष्मण की भूमि के राजाओ | आज सभी लोग दैनिक गतिविधियों में लगे हों || २९ ||
कुर्वन्त्वयं हि दिवसः प्रायः परिणताकृतिः | शेषं विचारयिष्यामो विचार्यं प्रातरागताः || ३० ||
kurvantvayaṃ hi divasaḥ prāyaḥ pariṇatākṛtiḥ | śeṣaṃ vicārayiṣyāmo vicāryaṃ prātarāgatāḥ || 30 ||
Engage in this day, for it is almost over | We will consider the rest tomorrow morning || 30 ||
आज के दिन में लगे रहो, क्योंकि यह लगभग समाप्त हो चुका है | हम कल सुबह बाकी का विचार करेंगे || ३० ||
श्रीवाल्मीकिरुवाच | इत्युक्ता मुनिना तेन सा सर्वैव तदा सभा | प्रोत्तस्थौ पद्मवदना सविकासेव पद्मिनी || ३१ ||
śrīvālmīkiruvāca | ityuktā muninā tena sā sarvaiva tadā sabhā | protastau padmavadanā savikāseva padminī || 31 ||
Thus addressed by that sage, the entire assembly, with faces blooming like lotuses, rose up.
उस ऋषि द्वारा ऐसा कहे जाने पर, वह सम्पूर्ण सभा, जिसके मुख खिले हुए कमल के समान थे, उठ खड़ी हुई।
राजानः स्तुतराजानः कृतराघववन्दनाः | परिष्टुते वसिष्ठे ते जग्मुरात्मनिवेशनम् || ३२ ||
rājānaḥ stutarājānaḥ kṛtarāghavavandanāḥ | pariṣṭute vasiṣṭhe te jagmurātmaniveśanam || 32 ||
The kings, who were praised and had paid homage to Rama, after praising Vasistha, went to their respective abodes.
जो किंग्स प्रशंसित थे और राम को प्रणाम कर चुके थे, वसिष्ठ की प्रशंसा करने के बाद, अपने-अपने निवास स्थानों पर गए।
विश्वामित्रेण सहितो वसिष्ठो गन्तुमाश्रमम् | उत्तस्थावासनाच्छ्रीमान्नमस्कृतनभश्चरः || ३३ ||
viśvāmitreṇa sahito vasiṣṭho gantumāśramam | uttasthāvāsanācchrīmānnmaskṛtanabhaścaraḥ || 33 ||
Accompanied by Visvamitra, the illustrious Vasistha rose from his seat to go to the hermitage, saluted by the celestial beings.
विश्वामित्र के साथ, प्रतापी वसिष्ठ अपने आसन से उठे और आश्रम जाने के लिए निकले, देवताओं द्वारा प्रणाम किया गया।
दशरथप्रभृतयो राजानो मुनयस्तथा | यथानुरूपं वक्तारमनुगम्य मुनिं चिरम् || ३४ ||
daśarathaprabhṛtayo rājāno munayastathā | yathānurūpaṃ vaktāramanugamya muniṃ ciram || 34 ||
King Dasharatha and other kings, along with the sages, followed the sage who spoke appropriately for a long time.
राजा दशरथ और अन्य राजा, ऋषियों के साथ, उस ऋषि का अनुसरण करते हुए जो यथानुरूप बोला, लंबे समय तक उसका अनुसरण किया।
आपृच्छ्य केचिद्गगनं ययुः केचिद्वनान्तरम् | केचिद्राजगृहं सन्तो भृङ्गाः पद्मोत्थिता इव || ३५ ||
āpṛcchya kecidgaganam yayuḥ kecidvanāntaram | kecidrājagṛhaṃ santo bhṛṅgāḥ padmotthitā iva || 35 ||
Some, after taking leave, went to the sky, some to the forest, and some to the royal palace, like bees rising from a lotus.
कुछ लोग, विदा लेकर, आकाश की ओर गए, कुछ वन की ओर, और कुछ राजमहल की ओर, मानो कमल से उठती हुई भौंरे हों।
वसिष्ठपादयोस्त्यक्त्वा पुष्पाञ्जलिमनाविलम् । दारैरनुगतो राजा प्रविवेश गृहान्तरम् || ३६ ||
vasiṣṭhapādayostyaktvā puṣpāñjalimanāvilam | dārairanugato rājā praviveśa gṛhāntaram || 36 ||
After offering a handful of flowers at the feet of Vasishtha, the king, accompanied by his family, entered his home.
वसिष्ठ के चरणों में फूलों की अञ्जलि अर्पित करके, राजा अपने परिवार के साथ घर में प्रवेश किया।
रामलक्ष्मणशत्रुघ्नाः प्राप्तस्य स्वाश्रमं गुरोः । अभ्यर्च्य चरणौ भक्त्या त्वाजग्मुर्नृपमन्दिरम् || ३७ ||
rāmalakṣmaṇaśatrughnāḥ prāptasya svāśramaṃ guroḥ | abhyarcya caraṇau bhaktyā tvājagmurnṛpamandiram || 37 ||
Rama, Lakshmana, and Shatrughna, having reached their guru's ashram, worshipped his feet with devotion and then proceeded to the king's palace.
राम, लक्ष्मण और शत्रुघ्न अपने गुरु के आश्रम पहुंचकर, उनके चरणों की भक्तिपूर्वक पूजा करके फिर राजा के महल में गए।
सदनानि समासाद्य श्रोतारः सर्व एव ते । सस्नुरानर्चुरभ्येयुर्देवान्विप्रान्पितृंस्तथा || ३८ ||
sadanāni samāsādya śrotāraḥ sarva eva te | sasnurānarcuhabhyeyurdevānviprānpitṛṃstathā || 38 ||
Having reached the homes, all the listeners bathed, worshipped, and honored the gods, Brahmins, and ancestors.
घरों में पहुंचकर, सभी श्रोताओं ने स्नान किया, पूजा की और देवताओं, ब्राह्मणों और पितरों का सम्मान किया।
यथाक्रमं स्वभृत्यान्तैर्विप्राद्यैश्च परिच्छदैः । समं बुभुजिरे भोज्यं वर्णधर्मक्रमोदितम् || ३९ ||
yathākramaṃ svabhṛtyāntairviprādyaiśca paricchadaiḥ | samaṃ bubhujire bhojyaṃ varṇadharmakramoditam || 39 ||
In accordance with their duties and social order, they all partook of the food along with their servants and Brahmins.
अपने कर्तव्यों और सामाजिक व्यवस्था के अनुसार, वे सभी अपने सेवकों और ब्राह्मणों के साथ भोजन किया।
अस्तं गते दिनकरे समं दिवसकर्मभिः । अभ्यागते रात्रिकरे समं रजनिकर्मभिः || ४० ||
astaṃ gate dinakare samaṃ divasakarmabhiḥ | abhyāgate rātrikare samaṃ rajanikarmabhiḥ || 40 ||
When the sun set, they completed their daytime duties together, and when the moon rose, they performed their nighttime duties together.

स्थित्वा तल्पेषु कौशेयशयनेष्वासनेषु च | भूचरा मुनिराजानो राजपुत्रा महर्षयः || ४१ ||
sthitvā talpeṣu kauśeyaśayaneṣvāsaneṣu ca | bhūcarā munirājāno rājaputrā maharṣayaḥ || 41 ||
Sitting on beds and seats made of silk, the great sages, kings, and princes, who roam the earth,
रेशम के बिस्तर और आसनों पर बैठे हुए, पृथ्वी पर घूमने वाले महान ऋषि, राजा और राजकुमार,
संसारोत्तरणोपायं वसिष्ठवदनेरितम् | यथावदेकाग्रधियश्चिन्तयामासुरादृताः || ४२ ||
saṃsārottaraṇopāyaṃ vasiṣṭhavadaneritam | yathāvadekāgradhiyaścintayāmāsurādṛtāḥ || 42 ||
They, with focused minds, respectfully contemplated the means of liberation from the world as spoken by the mouth of Vasistha.
उन्होंने एकाग्र मन से, वसिष्ठ के मुख से निकले संसार से मुक्ति के उपाय पर आदरपूर्वक विचार किया।
ततः प्रहरमात्रेण निद्रामामुद्रिताननाः | उत्स्वप्नसुन्दरीमीयुः पद्मा इव दिनार्थिनः || ४३ ||
tataḥ praharamātreṇa nidrāmāmudritānanāḥ | utsvapnasundarīmīyuḥ padmā iva dinārthinaḥ || 43 ||
Then, within a short period, with their faces sealed with sleep, they entered a beautiful dream state, like lotuses seeking the day.
तब, एक छोटे समय में, उनके चेहरे नींद से भरे हुए थे, वे एक सुंदर स्वप्न अवस्था में प्रवेश कर गए, जैसे कमल दिन की तलाश में होते हैं।
रामलक्ष्मणशत्रुघ्नाः प्रहरत्रयमेव तत् | वासिष्ठमुपदेशं ते चिन्तयामासुरक्षतम् || ४४ ||
rāmalakṣmaṇaśatrughnāḥ praharatrayameva tat | vāsiṣṭhamupadeśaṃ te cintayāmāsurakṣatam || 44 ||
Rama, Lakshmana, and Shatrughna, for three hours, contemplated the teachings of Vasistha without any harm.
राम, लक्ष्मण और शत्रुघ्न, तीन घंटे तक, वसिष्ठ के उपदेशों पर किसी हानि के बिना विचार करते रहे।
प्रहरस्यार्धमात्रं ते तत आमुद्रितेक्षणाः | उत्स्वप्नमाययुर्निद्रां क्षणाद्विद्रावितश्रमाम् || ४५ ||
praharasyārdhamātraṃ te tat āmudritekṣaṇāḥ | utsvapnamāyayurnidrāṃ kṣaṇādvidrāvitaśramām || 45 ||
Half of that period, with their eyes sealed with sleep, they entered a dream state, and in an instant, their fatigue was dispelled.
उस अवधि का आधा हिस्सा, उनकी आंखें नींद से भरी हुई थीं, वे एक स्वप्न अवस्था में प्रवेश कर गए, और एक क्षण में, उनकी थकान दूर हो गई।
इति शुभमनसां विवेकभाजामधिगतसारतयोदिताशयानाम् | अभजत विरतिं तदा त्रियामा मलिननिशाकरवक्रतां जगाम || ४६ ||
iti śubhamanasāṃ vivekabhājāmadhigatasāratayoditāśayānām | abhajata viratiṃ tadā triyāmā malinaniśākaravakratāṃ jagāma || 46 ||
Thus, those with pure minds and discerning intellect who have attained the essence and have expressed their intentions, at that time, they embraced renunciation, and the three-fold night of impurity came to an end.
इस प्रकार, जिनके मन शुद्ध हैं और जो विवेक से युक्त हैं, वे जिन्होंने सार को प्राप्त किया है और अपने इरादे व्यक्त किए हैं, उस समय, उन्होंने विरक्ति को अपनाया, और मलिन रात्रि का त्रियामा अंत हो गया।
